Despite Minior's appeal as a Shell Smash sweeper with a useful ability to aid it with setting up, it falls short of more reliable setup sweepers like Comfey, Braviary, and Delphox due to its lacking stats in Meteor forme and poor defensive typing, which limit its ability to force opposing Pokemon out to safely set up. Minior also struggles to reliably beat bulky Water- and Ground-types like Slowbro, Vaporeon, Steelix, and Rhydon even with a Shell Smash boost.

This set aims to assist Minior in beating Pokemon such as Slowbro and Rhydon with +2 Continental Crush and Hidden Power Grass, although a White Herb and Acrobatics can be used to provide it with a more consistent attack and improve the Torterra matchup. Additionally, Substitute can be used alongside Acrobatics over Stone Edge with an alternative EV spread of 12 HP / 244 Atk / 252 Spe to guarantee Minior's ability activating after two Substitutes. Unfortunately, Minior still struggles to actually beat its checks one-on-one and has no early- and mid-game presence, since its health must be preserved to try to set up and sweep.

Unsure how I want to word this, but I'd like some mention that unlike every single other sweeper, it really can't force stuff out to get setup, maybe "lacking offensive stats in Meteor Forme, limiting what it can force out and set up on" or something on that order. Minior also struggles to reliably beat bulky Water- and Ground-types like Slowbro, Vaporeon, Steelix, and Rhydon even with a Shell Smash boost.
