Mixed Attacker (Dragonite) @ Life Orb / Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Aerilate
EVs: 156 HP / 252 Atk / 100 SpA
Naughty Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Thunderbolt / Flamethrower
- Dragon Dance / Earthquake
- Roost

[SET COMMENTS]
Dragonite can leverage its solid Special Attack, its deep coverage movepool, and the sheer power of Aerilate Extreme Speed to be an incredibly effective mixed attacker and late-game cleaner while still bringing plenty of defensive utility. Thunderbolt cleanly eliminates Corviknight and Mandibuzz looking to soak up Extreme Speed, while Flamethrower OHKOes Fluffy Corviknight and threatens non-Well-Baked Body Gholdengo. Dragon Dance allows Dragonite to set up for a sweep, but Earthquake is also an option, guaranteeing damage against non-immune Steel-types like Empoleon, Gholdengo, (comma) and Heatran, as well as strongly hitting Azelf. Roost allows Dragonite some additional longevity, letting it more effectively use its high bulk and rich defensive typing. 100 Special Attack EVs guarantee a 2HKO on Corviknight after Leftovers if Dragonite is holding Life Orb, with the rest of the EVs being put into bulk to let Dragonite more effectively check threats like Ogerpon-W and Iron Moth. Heavy-Duty Boots is an option over Life Orb, giving Dragonite even more longevity, which lets it better check threats like Ogerpon-H and gives it more opportunities to switch in at the cost of a noticeable power drop, missing the guaranteed 2HKO against Pixilate Scream Tail. Dragonite's revenge killing capabilities are appreciated by powerful mid-game wallbreakers like Gholdengo, Scream Tail, and Latios, all of which can wear down a team over time for Dragonite to clean up. Dragonite's poor matchup against Psychic Surge users like Deoxys-S and Azelf demands a solid answer to them, be it an offensive one like Choice Scarf Roaring Moon or Hadron Engine Gholdengo or a bulky switch-in like Heatran or Empoleon. Dragonite can very easily be forced out by attackers like Primarina and Scream Tail and, without Heavy-Duty Boots, is extremely vulnerable to Stealth Rock, meaning bulky pivots like Manaphy and Meloetta and entry hazard removers like Corviknight and Great Tusk are recommended teammates.

Dragonite can leverage its solid base 100 Special Attack, deep coverage movepool, and the sheer power of Aerilate Extreme Speed to be an incredibly effective mixed attacker and endgame cleaner while still bringing plenty of defensive utility. Thunderbolt allows it to cleanly eliminate Corviknight and Mandibuzz looking to soak up Extreme Speed, while Flamethrower is an option that still hits non-Well-Baked Body Corviknight id mention that you surprise fluffy corv with an OHKO and also threatens Earth Eater non-Well-Baked Body Gholdengo. Dragon Dance allows Dragonite to set up for a sweep, but Earthquake is also an option, trading the boosting potential of Dragon Dance for guaranteed damage against non-immune Steel-types like Empoleon and Heatran and non ee ghold if flamethrower is being used, optional if you want to include, as well as a strong hit against Azelf. Roost allows Dragonite some additional longevity, letting it more effectively use its high bulk and rich defensive typing in the midgame. 100 Special Attack EVs guarantee a 2HKO on Corviknight after Leftovers if Dragonite is holding Life Orb, with the rest put into its bulk to let Dragonite more effectively check threats like Ogerpon-W and Barraskewda. Heavy-Duty Boots is an option over Life Orb, giving Dragonite even more longevity and more opportunities to switch in at the cost of a noticable power drop maybe mention what ranges the power drop misses. Dragonite's revenge killing capabilities are appreciated by powerful midgame wallbreakers like Gholdengo, Scream Tail, and Latios, all of whom can wear down a team over time for Dragonite to clean up. Dragonite's poor matchup against Psychic Surge users like Deoxys-S and Azelf demand a solid answer to them, be it an offensive one like Choice Scarf Roaring Moon or Hadron Engine Gholdengo or a bulky switch-in like Heatran or Manaphy Empoleon manaphy isnt the most consistent switchin due to knock and most manas being physdef. Without Heavy-Duty Boots, Dragonite is extremely vulnerable to Stealth Rock and can struggle to switch in against attackers like Primarina and Scream Tail, meaning hazard removers like Great Tusk and bulky pivots like Manaphy and Corviknight are recommended teammates.

Roost allows Dragonite some additional longevity, letting it more effectively use its high bulk and rich defensive typing in the midgame I feel like this isn't exclusive to the midgame; Dnite makes good use of longevity & it's typing in all stages of play depending on game ofc. 100 Special Attack EVs guarantee a 2HKO on Corviknight after Leftovers if Dragonite is holding Life Orb, with the rest put into its bulk to let Dragonite more effectively check threats like Ogerpon-W and Barraskewda Iron Moth Despite the Naughty nature you still only take about ~34% and you force out moth immediately, also Barra sadly isn't as relevant in the meta atm. Heavy-Duty Boots is an option over Life Orb, giving Dragonite even more longevity Could maybe slightly elaborate on this and mention that it allows you to check the former threats better due to not being scared of rocks, your call and more opportunities to switch in at the cost of a noticable power drop, missing the guaranteed 2HKO against Pixilate Scream Tail. Dragonite's revenge killing capabilities are appreciated by powerful mid-game(AH) wallbreakers like Gholdengo, Scream Tail, and Latios, all of whom can wear down a team over time for Dragonite to clean up. Dragonite's poor matchup against Psychic Surge users like Deoxys-S and Azelf demand a solid answer to them, be it an offensive one like Choice Scarf Roaring Moon or Hadron Engine Gholdengo or a bulky switch-in like Heatran or Empoleon. Without Heavy-Duty Boots, Dragonite is extremely vulnerable to Stealth Rock and can struggle to switch in against attackers like Primarina and Scream Tail This point feels kinda silly to me, like ofc the dragon-type is gonna struggle to switch into fairy-types, that's not something that the Dnite will ever do, maybe just mention instead that it's forced out by them? Any other alternatives may work well too, meaning hazard removers like Great Tusk and bulky pivots like Manaphy and Corviknight are recommended teammates.
