Gen 7 Mixed Polish Pdon Balance

Team : :groudon-primal: :kyogre-primal: :salamence-mega: :ferrothorn: :arceus-water: :necrozma-dusk-mane:

Looking for things to build around, I remember using Rock Polish Groudon in DPP and 6-0 people with wobbuffet support.
I was trying to build around physical rock polish pdon but it gets hard walled by zygarde so i went for the dex's mixed polish pdon

Team

:sm/groudon-primal:
Team's star Mixed Polish Primal Groudon
It makes people think it's just the standard set but surprises them with HP ice
And finally Precipicle Blades to not get walled by Blissey

:sm/kyogre-primal:
Groudon's wallbreaking partner
It chips Blissey with a full powered Water Spout and threatens out Ho-oh while Kyogre appreciates Groudon's ability to check Ferrothorn
Calm Mind complements Water Spout. You can play mind games with a Ferrothorn that is aiming to use Protect for the extra Leftovers recovery to avoid the Water Spout 2HKO. It also helps Kyogre break other walls like Blissey and Arceus-Water

:sm/salamence-mega:
Support Mega Salamence acts a check to Dual Dance Primal Groudon, paraspammer and defog utility
In tandem with Ferrothorn's Spikes and Necrozma's Stealth Rock, it can spam Dragon Tail and wear down the opponents team
Intimidate can be kept to keep switching in and out
Mainly a good switch in to fighting and fire, which Ferrothorn appreciates

:sm/Ferrothorn:
Spikes Stacker and Toxic Spreader
Ferrothorn is one of the best checks to Primal Kyogre because It resists almost all of its STABs
I needed Ferrothorn to check Xerneas (Hoping to miss Focus Blast) and Kyogre because Groudon's set is not defensive
Leech Seed helps it recover faster

:sm/Arceus-Water:
Physically defensive synergy with Salamence and Ferrothorn
Checks Mega Salamence and Zygarde
It's ability to spread Toxic and instant recovery is appreciated
It's resistance to Ice makes a good switch for opposing Ice type moves

:sm/necrozma-ultra:
The reason I used Stealth Rock Ultra Necrozma is because it can bring offensive pressure and stealth rock utility in one pokemon
It has a choice to stay on it's Dusk Mane form to make oppoments think twice of using Geomancy on Xerneas and then suddenly attack them with tremendous power
It can also act as a Ho-oh lure using Power Gem

Threatlist:
:yveltal:
At first I thought of using Magearna to check Yveltal but it makes my team weaker against Primal Kyogre so i used Ferrothorn instead
So Taunt Variants or even Choice Specs Yveltal is scary for this team

:gengar-mega:
Playing prediction wars with a shadow tag user is scary
It destroys half of my team with a prediction error

Thank you for reading my RMT!

Just saw this after the bump, and I think mixed rp don is always a cool mon to use, but there's a few things personally I don't like and also a few changes that I think could improve the problem mu's you mentioned as well as a few more minor ones.

Major Changes:
:salamence-mega: --> :zygarde:
Phys.def mence when there's another defog option with Arceus which I also think should change its type to utilize defog is weird, since overall mence is a somewhat frail answer to some things. Pdon can just blow it up with an hp ice set like the one on this team while Zygarde takes noticeably less but still a lot and is also sturdier against dual dance since taking stone edges especially without intimidate active after mega'ing isn't great for it. Personally I think the defensive set is usually mediocre overall, so I think going with the better tank works best.
Zygarde @ Leftovers
Ability: Power Construct
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Rest
- Coil
- Thousand Arrows
- Glare

Don't know if this counts as a super major change since it's just a form change, but regardless I think this is quite the helpful one. Opposing Ultra-Necrozma looked quite hard to deal with naturally, especially the special dpulse + heat wave variants but even just sd due to the raw power, so I think darkceus fits really well over waterceus. The main issues you also mentioned in the op were offensive Yveltal and Mega Gengar, both of which this can cover while providing a defog user that was lost with mence, and fixing those issues was the main goal so I really like this change. Defog isn't always recommended on the dex set but it is still an other option mentioned, since it can threaten out Necrozma-DM who commonly sets rocks while outspeeding Pdon.
Arceus-Dark @ Dread Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 Spe
Timid Nature
- Judgment
- Recover
- Ice Beam
- Defog

:Kyogre-primal: --> :ho-oh:
This one may seem more out there, but there's 2 big reasons for it. The first is that the team is very weak to Focus Blast Xerneas as none of the would be walls in Pdon and Necrozma are defensive. I considered making the Dusk Mane Sp.def but I think keeping that strong special core of Pdon + Unecro was better, so I thought that suggesting this helps almost as much while maintaining the big core of special mons. The second reason is the weakness to opposing HP Ice Pdon as well as HP Ice Marshadow. They don't typically carry coverage for both Ho-oh and Zygarde since they are limited in moveslots, so these 2 can cover most of the weaknesses I see in the team.
Ho-Oh @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 204 Def / 52 SpD
Impish Nature
- Sacred Fire
- Recover
- Toxic
- Defog
Updated RMT (pokepast.es)
Here's the updated paste, I hope it does well for you with the changes! I tried keeping the same structure with bulky arceus and a bulky dragon type, just the Kyogre change felt like it made the team a lot more structurally sound overall. This team may look a little similar to the sample with 5 of the same mons, but the build in its entirety is quite different. Both defensive Zygarde but the similarities really end there, as this team has offensive Pdon instead of Sp.def roar so that Ho-oh can be defensive, coil Zyg for a little more pressure than the passive haze toxic, and of course the big difference in stealth rock Ultra Necrozma, an offensive way to apply pressure instead of defensive Pdon. I think both would work quite well overall, and hopefully you like the changes I mentioned.
