No rhyme or reason behind this team I just happened to put the things together and have relatively moderate success with it. It got me to about 1555 in a few hours and I havent had many problems with it. Understandably Im not in the peaks of the tier yet so I have no idea how it would do against sand offense or BP but its worked well for me and I though I should finally make an rmt to get some feedback on my team building skills. Gotta get better somehow so all critique is welcome! If you see any huge holes in the team please let me know.
Team Analysis
Pinsir-Mega @ Pinsirite
Ability: Aerilate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Return
- Quick Attack
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
Standard.Pinsir/venusaurslayer. This thing is a hard hitting monster and has reasonable bulk. Its good against basically anything other than Rotom-W, Zapdos, and Skarmory. I'm sure there are a few others I'm not thinking of but it's because I don't see them. Quad weakness to rocks is something to be aware of but its really nothing to worry about as you do not have that weakness the first time you come in. As a pre-mega you could run Mold Breaker as it allows you to earthquake Rotom-W although keep in mind it only does 48 - 57.2%. I personally run Hyper Cutter for the rare occasion when you can come in on a Landorus EQ then finish it off if it's at low enough HP.
Weaknesses: Rock, Fire, Flying, Electric and Ice(after mega evo)
Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 72 Atk / 248 HP / 172 Def / 16 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
Landorus is just a good defensive pokemon. Intimidate obviously being the winning factor. Mostly used for Talonflame and Zard X. You can come in on a BB from Talonflame and Stone Edge until your hearts content and you can come in on a Zard X and after an intimidate take two hits, or reduce its Dragon Dance boost and kill it with Earthquake. Watch out for Joeys Zard because you will be burned. Overall bulk and hey legendaries are op right? The 16 speed is to outspeed Rotoms with 8 to outspeed Landorus with 4. Its come handy a few times but keep in mind you will lose initiative in a Landorus vs Landorus fight where you both U-Turn. I prefer to just switch into Ferrothorn and get the iron barbs damage given that play doesn't put me in a bad situation.
Weaknesses: Ice, Water
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 204 SDef / 252 HP / 52 Def
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip
- Stealth Rock
I mean, its a Ferrothorn. What more needs to be said? Honestly this is my Greninja switch in. Really the only reason I put it on the team aside from being a genuinely good pokemon. The 204 in spdef allows you to live ab hp fire from a timid life orb Greninja. I don't see them too often but in a situation where you absolutely need rocks and there's a Greninja staring you in the face, you have the option. I prefer to have Ferrothorn as my rocker so Landorus can have knock off. Pretty good Latios switch in as well.
Weakness: Fire, Fighting
Milotic @ Leftovers
Ability: Competitive
EVs: 224 Def / 36 SDef / 248 HP
Calm Nature
- Haze
- Mirror Coat
- Recover
- Scald
Milotic is my absolute favorite pokemon. That being said, it's also pretty good. Rotoms volt switch does a max of 29% to it and anything coming in will take up to 116 hp points of damage. Thats enough to maim if not ohko a pokemon. Common switch ins are Mega-Venusaur which you can beat one on one with mirror coat although it's advised to not stay in as you could be put to sleep or seeded. Latios and Mega-Manectric are also pokemon Milotic can take on 1v1. This is of course assuming the Latios is not sub calm mind. Over all solid pokemon and has good synergy with Landorus and Ferrothor. This set makes use of Competitive because the team has a heal beller and I prefer to not be toxic'd or burned.
Weaknesses: Electric, Grass
Granbull @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Atk
Impish Nature
- Heal Bell
- Play Rough
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch
lolufuknwutm8? Yeah I know, man. Granbull. Ever used on in OU? Probably not. I needed a physically defensive pokemon with heal bell. That's what this boils down to and no one fits the description better than Granbull. Dragon immunity? I'll take it. It's weak to poison and steel which to be honest, are not things this team struggles with. Play rough because stab. Earthquake because Heatran. And fire punch because it has a chance to 2hko ferro, about 45 - 50% to max hp max def, and can go toe to toe with most Scizors. If eq or fire punch don't live up to your expectations it always learns T-Wave. Channel your inner Togekiss. Granbull is obviously an underused pokemon, yes I know it's actually NU, and probably does not have the balls to go at it in the OU tier but I like to use pokes that are not in the tier and it fit the description of what I needed. Shout out to my boy Deafstroke1, holla at ya mafuckin kike boy.
Weakness: Steel, Poison
Armaldo @ Assault Vest
Ability: Battle Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Impish Nature
- Rapid Spin
- X-Scissor
- Stone Edge
- Aqua Jet
Another NU pokemon? Is this guy serious? Oh fuck yeah. Nothing gets me harder than a good old fashioned rapid spinner. Defog is for pussies who don't want their own hazards up! Mixed defenses with all in spdef but a positive def nature. Can take about one hit from most things and get off a rapid spin if necessary. Beats lead Azelf if that happens to be a thing lol. Come to think of it, Blastoise might just be better for this job but fuck it, I like Armaldo. Hits harder. And every team needs that obligatory AV user. Here he is in all his spinning mantis like buggyness.
Weaknesses: Rock, Steel, Water
I'm not sure to be honest. The team has done me well and I enjoy using it. It has struggled against certain Kyurem sets but otherwise has been fun to use. If you guys would like to try this team that would absolutely awesome. I'd love to hear how it works for you.
