Breloom @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Effect Spore
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spore
- Superpower
- Mach Punch
- Stone Edge
+
Dragonite @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 56 Atk / 252 SpA / 200 Spe
Rash Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Superpower
- Extreme Speed
I started the team with a core that is not well known but has been used several times in tournaments. I'm not making anything up, but to briefly explain the core: you spore something turn 1 preventing rocks and then you can go on mixnite on turn 2. Of course, it depends on the lead matchup but in most matchups you can safely go on mixnite and you have a good chance to do a lot of damage or even take a kill, especially since the core loom scarf + mixnite is not very well known, so the opponent can expect dragon dance and send his scarfer on it thinking I'm going to use dd (replay below). It can put a lot of pressure from turn 2 and it's hard to cover all the sets.
Mach Punch on scarf loom : Whatever the set of Breloom, I can't justify no mach punch loom. This move is great and very useful for the team since I have a backup for dd ttar/Agility Empoleon and especially SD Lucario. Originally it was seed bomb over mach punch but i've rarely used seed bomb and I don't think it helps that much, that's why I added Mach punch.
Metagross @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 76 Atk / 12 Def / 168 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake
- Explosion
I wanted to add metagross because it's a really great mon and it covers mixnite's weaknesses well (dragon, ice), and mixnite covers metagross' weaknesses (fire/ground). I also added it to have a check to jirachi and ttar. Also, if on turn 2 the opponent sends a pokémon such as latias on dragonite, you can send metagross on it and get the rocks early in the game. I decided to play it with a bit of spdef since it's my only in safe to latias specs, and it also allows to have a check to special mons to make the team more solid against cm rachi - gengar - mixgon (because it can safely rotate on draco meteor, and even tank eq afterwards) - starmie - suicune, etc... 76 in att allows to kill scarf/dd ttar after rocks. 12 in def allows to survive a nite EQ at +1 after rocks (so it can also live any att's from dders such as gyarados or ttar). Leftovers to have more longevity and puts pressure on stall (and leftovers is an amazing item overall, so why not).
Gengar @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 104 HP / 16 Def / 196 SpA / 192 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
Gengar was added to have a second stall breaker, to have a fight/ground immune (lucario/flygon/gliscor/machamp
- For the EV's : 188 in speed allows to outspeed fat latias (because most of defensive latias are at 330/331 in speed), and I feel like most of specs latias are modest nowadays (and even if it's timid, latias specs isn't a big problem for the team so I don't want to make it full speed only for the speed tie). Feel free to make it full speed if you're not sure about the spread but personally I prefer like that and I don't see any reason to make it full speed unless to speed tie with latias/gengar. 120 def/12 hp is to mare sure you can live two seed bomb from breloom after rocks + sand.
Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 236 HP / 20 Atk / 172 SpA / 80 SpD
Quiet Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Electric]
Swampert is a natural addition on this team to give an immune elec as zapdos was threatening and I had no "in safe" to elec moves overall. But he was mostly added to solidify the team against threats such as agility metagross - jirachi and gliscor. I decided to play it special in to bait restalk rotom - gengar (who uses will o wisp thinking that I am physical pert) - and it allows to do damage to skarm by forcing him to use roost and not let him free spikes. HP Elec is really crazy but gyarados would be too threatening without this move, so I added it to have a backup to it. 80 in Spdef is to live HP grass from modest heatran
EDIT : I added Earthquake over Earthpower, a move that was never really useful. Earthquake is just better against Clefable, Suicune and CM Jirachi. 20 Att allows to make sure you can 3hko standard clef (full hp and 40 in def).
Tyranitar @ Chople Berry
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 8 HP / 248 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Crunch
- Taunt/Earthquake
- Fire Punch
DD Ttar, the wincond of the team. I added it because I wanted a sweeper in the team, a mon who can close a game. Ttar came to mind because he is, in my opinion, the best dder in the tier and he also synergizes well with the team. Because it allows you to have a fire resist other than swampert (although it's swampert who is supposed to come on heatran, and not dd ttar because he doesn't like getting rocks + fire blast + earth power/HP grass ). It adds sand, which can help swampert/metagross, and cut leftovers from mons such as suicune. It also allows you to have a backup against zapdos which can be threatening. But it synergizes especially well with gengar: if the opponent has ttar scarf and trap gengar (although there was a sacrifice before that gar gets trapped), DD Taunt ttar abuses very well of crunch/pursuit locked ttard. Because most of teams with scarf ttar are stall, and once ttar finds an opportunity to setup he can literally 6-0 a stall because he taunts skarm/encore clef, etc. Taunt was only added for that because I'm quite paranoid and I'm always afraid that my team will be weak at stall, which is one of the strongest archetypes. But feel free to run earthquake, it's viable too.

Weakness of the team : Suicune can be annoying for the team, because of his massive bulk. Offensive Starmie can be annoying too, because he outspeeds all my team and hits it hard. Agility Metagross can be annoying too once swampert's gone, so your job is to keep swampert healthy as much as possible and to send it once you face metagross. Tspikes can be annoying since I have swampert and Tyranitar. Glad all those mons, unless agility metagross, are not popular nowadays (same for tspikes: all the tspikes user are very decent and even unviable, so tentacruel/nidoqueen and roserade) so it shouldn't be a big problem

Friendly vs my friend mbh : https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen4ou-1595664662-2q3kgf90isctfwt40mtrlgsb26rgf1epw (turn 3 was crazy but when he revealed empo I knew his team and I knew he had gyarados in the back. Didn't think he would risk his empo) Thanks for the games anyway, and thanks to Cubik Skunk to help me when I needed to test the teams
