AT A GLANCE

So I wanted to try out a core that did not comply to GWF and still breaks threw them. So I made a semi stall team..of sorts. First I wanted to use the Breloom-Zapdos core.

shiny_breloom_thumb.png
zapdos.png

Both of these pogeymanz are threatened by Life Orb starmie. So I slapped on blissey and it's better than chocolate and gravy.

Originally I had chosen Forretress to lay down spikes/toxic spikes and rapid spin others away. But soon I found that Infernape ran all over my team. Although I did cleverly eventually kill it via poison and dodging its moves. SO with that in mind..what counters Infernape? Gyarados? Yes...but I need a rapid spinner and entry hazard man. TENTACRUEL, I remember how many times I and my friends laughed at how fail it was. Now I have respect for it.

So, what is key for this team? Entry Hazards for the most part. What threatens that? RAPID SPIN. One of the most common ones? STARMIE. Rotom was a perfect counter and rapid spin blocker.

Now, I've come to the realization that Tyranitar isn't as dealt with as well as I thought, EVEN with my breloom's ev's. If the Ttar is smart he can get past bre-bre. Plus I want a lead that comes back in late-game to cause switches and just be a pain. Swampert is a wonderful choice for both.

NOW A CLOSER LOOK

Swampert

swampert.png

Relaxed - Lum Berry

Torrent
Stealth Rock
Earthquake
Ice Beam
Roar

236HP/216Def/6Spe/52SpDef

Wanted lead to deal with others.
Considering Lum Berry instead of leftovers.
Its muh Pert ^_^
Effectively deals with TTar later in game if Breloom goes out.
Spreads Residual damage with roar.
Threatens dragons.
Threatens steels if Rotom is gone.
He isn't a key player but a rather a fail-safe if Rotom and Breloom can't handle Ttar.

Basically, if it isn't roserade and it gives me problems I roar it away till I feel comfortable dealing with it.

Aerodactyl- Swampert 2HKO's it.
Azelf- Swampert sets up SR, then 2HKO's it.
Dragonite- Roar/Zapdos HP Ice.
Heatran- SR. If they switched out, I'll roar the switch in, and kill what I can.
Infernape- Earthquake because they wont expect it, they'll expect me to set up. Then SR and Roar
Jirachi- SR, then Roar or Earthquake
Machamp- SR. Then Earthquake till death, switch to rotom if I sniff out an explosion.
Metagross-SR then Roar
Ninjask- Roar with Swampert. If its a lead it no problem. But a late game Ninjask is definatly a problem (unless it there last pokemon)
Roserade- HARD TIME. Sleep powder and I don't have much to stop it.
Swampert- I outspeed so I roar. After I have SR and Toxic Spikes up he's done for.
Tyranitar- SR then Earthquake or roar on the switch.

Breloom

breloom.png

(Shiny){and yes it matters}
Impish - Toxic Orb
Poison Heal
Spore
Falcon PAWNCH
Substitute
Leech Seed

236HP/248Def/24Spe

This thing can effectively come in on a crunch, stone edge(MAYBE) and spore in retaliation against TTars.
Breloom is my main core breaker. He has the defense EV's to take a hit on the switch in and retaliate with a spore. Works well with Zapdos. He is not meant to really KO any pokemon but to rather ruff'em up a bit so that entry hazards can be a real threat.
He's my broom and sweeps up trash.
Many are taken back at this Breloom. He is a wonderful surprise pokemon. He takes hits like a champ and hits back harder.
He scares away Blissey.
I've thought about changing Seed Bomb to Leech seed. Not quite sure how I will deal with ghosts though and if it's worth it.
Breloom is utterly walled by Celebi but Zapdos is a wonderful answer.

Tentacruel

tentacruel.png

Calm - Leftovers
Liquid Ooze
Rapid Spin
Surf
Sludge Bomb
Toxic Spikes

252HP/120Def/136SpDef

It's a wonderful counter to Infernape.
It can survive fairly long if I play it right.
Many are skeptical at how long Tentacruel can wall Infernape but with wish support he will be around for a while.
Sludge bomb is wonderful for STAB neutral coverage against other Waters.
Surf is to scare away Infernape.
Ideally what will happen is Tentacruel will scare off Infernape and Infernape will take a truckload from SR, AND toxic spikes.
Also works as a backup SPDef Wall.
He's just a big cuddly jellyfish now get off'em haters.

ROTOM-S

rotomspin.png

Bold-Leftovers
Levitate

I have decided not to relinquish the EV's for this little buddy o' mine. It's super secret and I will find you in the night and destroy you with an evolution of Tauros if you try to find it.

Discharge
Shadow Ball
Substitute
Will o Wisp

This super secret Rotom deals with ALL steels other than Empoleon, which Blissey will eat up to maintain her figure. I prefer to use Blissey before Rotom against Blissey but this Rotom is another FailSafe catch plan.
He checks;
Steels, Scizor, Gyarados, Starmie, and helps stall against Infernape.
I also use him to stall when an EQ user shows up. 'Cept for Flygon unless its Chocie Scarfed.
IMO the best pokemon in OU right now.
He gets raped by CM Jirachi,...BLISSEY.

Blissey

blissey.png

Bold - Leftovers
Natural Cure
Wish
Protect
Seismic Toss
Flamethrower

252HP/252Def/6Spe

Does typical Blissey stuff...ya know the usual. Makin kid's ragequit and royally poops on everything Special.
I LOVE BLISSEY, I WOULD GO DOWN ON HER ALL DAY even if I got ST'Ds(Seismic Toss'Ds..:D)
Wish passing helps alot.
I honestly don't think I need to explain alot, I mean Im sure all of you have seen this pink blob dropped in front of you.
I chose Flamethrower instead of Toxic because with toxic spikes there's no need really. Anything levitating is usually physical and if it isn't Blissy handles it with flamethrower(gengar).
Is my go to when a starmie comes out.

ZAPDOS

zapdos.png

Timid - Leftovers
Pressure
Roost
Substitute
Thunderbolt
HP Ice

248HP/252SpDef/10Spe

I don't know why I should put ANY speed in Zapdos.
Beast defensively.
Tbolt for main STAB.
Stalls longer with it's great defensive typing and Roost+Sub AND PRESSURE.
It fears Stone Edge Gliscor which is tooken care of by Breloom/Rotom.
After a will o wisp a TTar using Stone Edge has 4 shots to crit me because Zapdos can stall it out.
Easily tears apart teams.
Tbolt is not good against Grass and Ground which is where HP Ice ALSO comes threw.
HP Ice for dragons*coughflygoncough*
Pseudo BoltBeam combo

Threats
From what I've played(about a week of the final edition)

-

Only Gliscor proves a threat to a point. I generally Will o Wisp it via Rotom and stall it out with Zapdos. I do have HP Ice as an option.

Please point out other threats.

Changes that have been made:
1. Breloom set has been switched to a leech seed stall set. So he is no longer a weak link.

Thanks from all of you.

The pictures in a closer look are all from Arkeis. Thank you Arkeis.com. All of you should go take a gander at what is being shown.

Changes that are being considered as of now:
1. I think that a forretress "lead" will be switched out for Pert and a bulky gyarados instead of Tentacruel. Since this is stall I feel it's okay if I dont get Tspikes and spikes up immediately, with a fire weakness and no need for Tentacruel- a Bulky Gyarados will fend off Infernape and eat up fire attacks.

How are we meant to rate the team properly without knowing the EVs of that Rotom?

Besides that Blissey essentially walls your entire team, if Breloom has not come out it can Thunderwave and prevent your Toxic Healing. If Breloom has already come out your opponent can simply switch to an appropriate counter. The only other Pokemon with a chance against Blissey is Swampert and if he is gone then you are pretty much screwed. I would suggest swapping one of your team out for a RestTalk Machamp. Ideally it would be Tentacruel as Toxic Spikes really hinder your Breloom as it disallows you to put anything to sleep.

Machamp @ Leftovers
No Guard
Adamant Nature
252 HP/ 252 Attack/ 4 Speed (Outspeed Standard Blisseys)

Rest
Seep Talk
Dynamic Punch
Payback

You may want to go for a bulkier spread however the 252 Attack EVs and the Adamant nature help Dynamic Punch hit a lot of things for brutal damage and the 100% Confusion is great.

You don't need to know the Rotom's EV's. You only need to know how it effects the Rotom's Role which I have clearly explained.

I have thought about resttalk machamp ALOT but i wouldnt have anything to stop Infernape. Infernape is very prevalent and Blissey is taken down via two layers of toxic spikes building up on her. Zapdos can crit it's way threw and be on its way.

This team is a semish stall team. I have spore on breloom for steels, it has the Def EV's to do it.. If anything I'd use Machamp instead of Breloom. Not Tentacruel.

Toxic Spikes are crucial to this team.

Go with Lum Berry over leftovers. Thats what I do with my Swampert. Its very useful.
Also I think it would be of great use to you to give Breloom a 4th move.
This would give it more over all coverage. I would go with Seed Bomb.
:P

Thats all that immediatly stood out.
I'll be back with more later.

If you insist on keeping Toxic Spikes then I would say Machamp does a better job at stalling out opponents than Breloom. The confusion definitely helps as does Rest, you also replace the one counter you have for Blissey with something that can switch in on it. Also one thing you will really need to watch out for is Scarfed Variants of Flygon and Dragonite and to an even greater extent DDnite or even Agilinite.

These two Pokemon can come in late game or whenever your team has been scouted and proceed to spam Outrage. Due to your lack of steels and any really physically defensive wall this move will rip your team apart. Swampert has a chance to KO them, however you will still be sacrificing a Pokemon to bring him and that is on the presumption that he is still alive late game.

New Idea. Gyarados that can eat Infernape's attacks instead of breloom.

Skarmbliss, Zap, Gyara, Rotom, Pert

Will edit new changes later.

Hi there, this looks like a pretty good defensive team.
The Threats:

Swords Dance Infernape

How its a Threat:

Infernape can come in on Breloom or Blissey, set-up a Swords Dance and proceed to 2HKO your entire team with a moveset of Swords Dance FirePunch Close Combat Stone Edge. Even Tentacruel is easily 2HKOed as a boosted CC does: 72% - 84.9%

Solution:
I suggest you try a Scarf Rotom with a defensive spread, to revenge Swords Dance Infernape, among other offensive threats such as Sub-Split Gengar, which looks troublesome as well (obviously revenge when not behind sub lol).
Here's the set for the rotom:

499.png

Rotom-H
Evs: 252HP/4Satk/252spe
Nature: Timid
Item: Choice Scarf
-Thunderbolt
-ShadowBall
-Overheat
-Trick/Will-O-Wisp

The defensive evs let you survive forry's payback, and Overheat is there since this team looks a bit Life Orb Shaymin weak if Blissey's gone, and can land a super effective hit on each Pokemon (seed flare=swampert, hp ice=breloom/zapdos, earthpower=tentacruel, seed flare does plenty to rotom and t-bolt/shadowball won't do much.) Thunderbolt can easily revenge Infernape after a special defense drop from Close Combat. If you're having problems with Life Orb Heatran, then you can try Rotom-W with the same spread except HydroPump over Overheat. Rotom-A also lures in opposing Scarf Tyranitar for Breloom to set-up a substitute and begin demolishing the opposing team. Trick messes opposing stall teams pretty badly.

Other options you can try are leftovers on swampert or thunderwave on blissey to cripple Swords Dance Lucario or something on the switch-in, otherwise....

GL

EDIT: You could try Will-O-Wisp over trick, as that was mainly for opposing stall team members, namely blissey, but since Breloom has it covered and with toxic spikes down, shouldn't be too much of a hassle to handle. Will-O-Wisp allows you to cripple Scarf Tar (and any other cocky ttar).I suggest you give both, will-o-wisp and trick a test, since simple theorymoning won't really help in deciding which one's a better option

don't use the subseed ev's on breloom use the standard 12HP / 252 Atk / 244 Spe
it's much more effective this way.

The breloom's design is to have the ability to come in on a stone edge and then spore the tyranitar. Without the def EV's this would not be possible.

Im truly thinking a ScarfTar instead of Breloom to force out Infernape and KO other Tyrans via Superpower.

Now that I have a revenge killer Tentacruel is not needed to combat Infernape. Im thinking about changing Zapdos to a Sub Toxic set and getting rid of toxic spikes and let a RestTalk Machamp in to further break the team down. Any other helpful suggestions?

You might want to switch your rotom-s to a rotom-c or h. Even if you don't use hydro pump or leaf storm (and I'm not reccomending you do) you will still have tyranitar scared silly, which will provide a third pseudo check as you will probably be able to scare them away a few times before they catch on. In any case a burned tyranitar is kinda useless. In addition swampert will not want to switch into c. Rotom-C scares maybe only breloom and heracross and heracross and breloom are walled well enough already.
