The Monkey King shrouds itself in flame, battling as if engaged in dance! Infernape's STAB combination and mixed attacking prowess let it crush defensive staples like Bronzong, Incineroar, Houndstone, and Amoonguss. It also separates itself from other Fighting-types like Flamigo and Paldean Tauros-W, as it can't be adequately checked by simply resisting its STAB moves thanks to its diverse coverage options. Knock Off, in tandem with Tera Dark, lets it lure in and eliminate Basculegion-M and Choice Scarf Munkidori and lets it hit Chandelure. Stone Edge threatens Defoggers that would otherwise shrug off its STAB moves like Altaria and Cramorant, while Grass Knot has excellent odds to OHKO most Rhyperior variants and always 2HKOes physically defensive Swampert. Infernape struggles against Water-types like Paldean Tauros-W, Vaporeon, and Basculegion-M, so partners like Tsareena and Amoonguss are especially helpful. Entry hazards further exacerbate Infernape's Life Orb recoil, making hazard control from Tsareena, Altaria, or Cramorant crucial. Bronzong handles faster threats like Cinccino and Choice Scarf users like Flygon, Munkidori, and Flamigo, as well as setting Stealth Rock.
