Mono-Ice Team

Yes, I know, not much to go on here. I'm using this team in a tournment of sorts, legendarys are banned and all items are allowed, but the item clause is still active. All teams in the tournment have to be the same type, so i chose Ice.

Abomasnow@ Big Root
Snow Warning
Timid 252SpAtk/252Spd/6Atk
-Blizzard
-Focus Punch
-Substitute
-Leech Seed

The basic lead for any Hail team. Subs up from the start and Leech Seeds for more HP. Blizzard for STAB and Focus Punch to deal with potential T-Tars Big Root had to be used so I could have Leftovers on my more bulky Pokemon.

dpmfa091.png

Cloyster@ Leftovers
Skill Link
Relaxed 252HP/252SpDef/6Atk
-Icicle Spear
-Toxic Spikes
-Rapid Spin
-Surf

Rapid Spinner is necessary for this team, and although Cloyster isn't a great one due to Stealth Rock weakness, I have no other choices from the Ice type. Icicle Spear for STAB, Skill Link, and it's a good way to get rid of potential Garchomps. Toxic Spikes is there because there is no Poison type in the tournament, since no one signed up for it, so there's less of a chance they get absorbed. Rapid Spin to make SR go away, and Surf for STAB.

dpmfa471.png

Glaceon@ Choice Scarf
Snow Cloak
Modest 252SpAtk/252Spd/6HP
-Blizzard
-Shadow Ball
-Hidden Power (Fighting)
-Sleep Talk

You probably saw this coming. Blizzard for STAB and massive win with Glaceons high Special Attack. Shadow Ball and HP for coverage, so that Glaceon can hit everything at least neutral. Sleep Talk is for a possible switch in on Hypnosis. Glaceon's movepool is actually that bad that I needed to put Sleep Talk on it, maybe a little help if possible?

dpmfa461.png

Weavile@ Choice Band
Pressure
Jolly 40HP/252Atk/216Spd
-Ice Shard
-Ice Punch
-Pursuit
-Brick Break

Choice Banded Weavile for later game sweeping. Ice Shard and Ice Punch for STAB, Ice Shard is to deal with Choice Scarfers. Pursuit for STAB and for switches, and Brick Break for T-Tar and Blissey.

dpmfa473.png

Mamoswine@ Life Orb
Snow Cloak
Naughty 252Atk/236Spd/20SpAtk
-Ice Shard
-Blizzard
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge

Mixed Mamoswine to stay away from another Choice Bander. Ice Shard for Physical STAB and Blizzard for Special STAB, and to deal with Physical Walls that won't expect a Mixed Mamoswine. Earthquake and Stone Edge for more coverage and STAB on EQ.

dpffa478.png

Froslass@ Brightpowder
Snow Cloak
Timid 252SpAtk/252Spd/6HP
-Spikes
-Thunder Wave
-Substitute
-Blizzard

Before I begin this, I feel I might need to say this again, all items are allowed. This is designed to abuse Snow Cloak as well as possible. Substitute so just in case she gets hit, she has a barrier to take the hit for her. T-wave to slow down sweepers. Spikes to abuse the fact that they can't always hit, and Blizzard for STAB.

I also want to add this guy in, if any of you think this is a good idea, let me know where he would fit in, and what item to use, since he conflicts with Cloyster's Leftovers

dpffa365.png

Walrein(Lawlrein)@ Leftovers
Ice Body
Bold 220HP/240Def/48Spd
-Protect
-Substitute
-Toxic
-Surf

Ice Body abuse FTW! Basically Toxic the opponent, then alternate Protect and Substitute to stay alive. Surf is for those who Toxic doesn't bode well again whose name isn't Tentacruel. There's probably more that I need to worry about, but Tenty came to mind first

So there it is. I would love suggestions, anything that can help me would be great! Thanks!

Alright, pure Ice-type eh? Here we go!

Mamowsine

First thing I'd like to say is that you don't need to always have Abomasnow as a lead. Instead, you should try using Mamowsine since it's better and can provide Stealth Rock support at the same time, which you can really benefit from considering Cloyster has Toxic Spikes and Froslass has Spikes. Use a set like this

Mamoswine @ Focus Sash
Snow Cloak
6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe - Adamant
-Stealth Rock
-Ice Shard
-Earthquake
-Endeavor

Now you have a suitable lead that is almost always capable of setting up Stealth Rock.

Glaceon

For Glaceon, I see that you're having trouble deciding for a move instead of Sleep Talk. Well, I find that you can use Water Pulse to nail Heatran and other Fire-types, or you can use Baton Pass so you can scout your opponent's switch-in so you have the match up in your favor.

I'm not too sure about Walrein, so I'll leave that to other people for discussion.

Hope I helped.

Stallrein without Leftovers will not work to well :(

The entire idea of a Stallrein is to NEVER be able to die if you can alternate Protect / Substitute.

And it works :P As I use a Shiny Walrein ( I think Pink goes will with Toxic xD ) every so often in OU.

But I play her VERY differently compared to many people. I have a Smeargle who Baton Passes her Ingrain for extra recovery, and she also cannot get roared out ;)

If you think a Stallrein will help your team just because of Toxic support, then you can give it a try. But be VERY careful without Leftovers.

Also, If your still running Cloyster, you can basicly just make Cloyster set up Toxic Spikes, and let Walrein have another moveslot for Ice Beam or the likes :)

Hope this helped!

-I Abuse Smeargles

I know stallrein wouldn't work without leftovers, I'm trying to figure an alternate for lefties on Cloyster if possible

Plus I don't know who to replace with Walrein

ok something to suggest because i run a hail team of a VERY simular vein.

glaceon: i dont know why people dont use this more, he's actually suprisingly bulky TBH and i usually run choice specs with 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Spe Modest and wish support is AWESOME on it, because people dont expect it really. whether you switch to specs and aquire the most powerful blizzard the game has to offer or stay with scarf use wish over sleep talk. This will also help with the leftovers issue. and also scarf is actually fine you dont need to change to specs at all but im just throwing some options at you.

stallrein, make sure abomasnow doesn't die early so leech seeds will help him out and try to keep glaceon around for wishpassing. both these help with the leftovers debate but i still think that walrein should take the leftovers.

cloyster, either way garchomp is pretty much dead from ice, same boat as salamence but 1 thing salamence has is intimidate which could mean it will live icicle spear, also ice beam is 142 BP over icecle spear's 75 BP (nearly half) so i think it's obvious what you should have. One thing icicle spear has over ice beam is higher crit rate so if you held a sharp claw then you got some nice crit hax by your side, then have waterfall > surf so you can drop the -Spe nature. this will also hit tyranitar harder and make sure you outrun it too. otherwise cloyster dies before weavile revenge kills or weavile dies on the switch, not a good situation.

frosslass it cool but i dont see it fitting anywhere unless you prefer the hail abuse on her over wallreins as they're of a simular nature "kind of". i personally think stallrein's place on any hail team helps to elimanite those slower sweepers really well so i think that frosslass could stay out. i dont see it replacing anything else. also if switching to lead mamo you will already have stealth rock and toxic spikes anyway.

everything else looks really good, mix-mamo is cool but lead would be better TBH agreeing with Fuzznip there. good luck with the team! i hope this helped...
