mono water RMT

so I finally got around to making a water mono team, but as is the case with me I don't want to find six OU waters and throw them into a team, I would rather have a nice mix of types covered so here it is.

dpmfsa130.png

gyarados@wacan berry
adamant/intimidate
72 HP / 252 Atk / 184 Spe

dragon dance
waterfall
earthquake
ice fang

this is a slight variant of DDgyara, and with its wacan berry and threat from electrical first moves is nullified allowing me to get dragon dance up, for example a jolteon is faster then gyarados, uses thunderbolt (leaves me with around 30% hp) allowing me to dragon dance, and earthquake due to speed gains, i now out speed the jolteon.

dpmfsa230.png

kingdra@damp rock
modest/swift swim
120 HP / 252 SpA / 136 Spe

rain dance
surf
ice beam
hidden power electric

a perfect choice in this team as it has very few weaknesses and can sweep a few pokes, i have found when using it, it draws out blissey which allows me to work a combo with poliwrath

dpmfsa062.png

poliwrath@salac berry
jolly/water absorb
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

substitute
belly drum
waterfall
ice punch

belly drum poliwrath can cause a lot of problems especially if those calm mind blisseys come rolling out to remove kingdra, for some bizzare reason 1 sub and belly drum doesn't activate salac but that can be used to an advantage (2nd sub) or just drag in over rocks, the water absorb has caught a few people out too (trying to hit it with water moves)

dpmfsa073.png

tentacruel@leftovers
calm/liquid ooze
204 HP / 96 SpA / 172 SpD / 36 Spe

surf
sludge bomb
rapid spin
toxic spikes

the basic overall bulkyness of the support tentacruel led me to put this in as a spinner AND spiker, also using its typing as an advantage to unleash sludge bomb onto annoying grass types and a good chance of poisoning birds and levitaters.

dpmfsa272.png

ludicolo@damp rock
modest/swift swim
152 HP / 252 SpA / 104 Spe

rain dance
surf
grass knot
ice beam

more type coverage, this time throwing grass into the mix, can do major damage in its own right (mopping up after kingdra or sweeping) and even more ice moves, especially as this has grass typing and is as such weak to flying.

dpmfsa369.png

relicanth@leftovers
adamant/rock head
6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

rock polish
head smash
earthquake
waterfall

the most interesting option in the team, but in some ways a perfect choice as the team has no physical wallers , tentacruel covers SP defence, this can cover defence, with a base of 130 a rock polish is easy to get up and head smash is a major damage move, it can sweep in its own right, and has more flight coverage yet again as zapdos would ruin this team.

Finally, some love for Relicanth XD

Well, because this is a mono water team, i am obligated to add a ground/water pokemon... Swampert or Gastrodon (stockpile works), your choice. I would switch Gyra to a bulkydos, just because it would benefit your team. I would switch kingdra to a mixed set, and give it life orb. finally, i would remove poliwrath for a special sweeper (i actually use Empoleon sometimes, because it gives you a dragon resist)

overall, great team, and once again relicanth rapes if it gets a rock polish in

I suggest you switched this to a bulky one. It will be able to tank more, but still be able to be on the offensive

kingdra@damp rock

This is ok.

Might I suggest a Choice band? It could come in handy

I love tentacruels ^_^

This guy is unstoppable after a raindance is up. Leech seed could be really helpful, mabye instead of ice beam.

Relicanth = PWNsome

You have 6 seperate Pokemon that can set up, I wouldn't call this a team. To cover your Electric weakness, I would suggest Swampert. Milotic is a good option if you want a Physical wall and a status inducing Pokemon. Suicune can help out through Reflect or can set up with Calm Mind.

Switch Relicanth for Swampert. I'll be the second to say that this team is just a line of six individuals, it does not mesh. I don't suggest depending on a relicanth for a defensive, especially if you're not putting a single EV into it. Swampert also provides a sorely needed electric immunity as you've got four weaks and two neutrals atm.
