National Dex Monoice team

Introduction:

For context i wanna try to be an ice type gym leader on a cobblemon server. It has basically national dex gen 9 rules, also teras are banned at the gyms so that is also why no teras. So tried to think of one with some varients testes on pokemon showdown, but didnt path into the game because i relised it will be either pretty hard to get legendaries and legacy moves like toxic for walrein isnt on the server, for now at least. The main thing i want is suggestions and critisism for the team likehow to improve it maybe other moves, pokemons anything works really.

Team:
1. Aloan Ninetales
Item: Light Clay
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
Moveset:
- Aurora Veil
- Freeze-Dry
- Moonblast
- Encore
This is basically always your lead, unless an oppotent has like a strong figting type/hazard pokemon that can negate snow or other strong lead to kill or heavily injure ninetales. The strat is to set up start by Aurora Veil from first move to cut incoming damage cutting incoming damage. If oponnent will try to set up or other silly stuff encore to force out a switch or punish their lead.

After a Veil if opponent send out some water types after a veil you can stay to kill it with Freeze-Dry or if opponent has other not so deadly fighting or dragon types blast them with a moonbalst. Still most of the time you try to switch to Avalugg or Mamoswine.

In the end of middle game sometimes you can suck the ninetales to set up arora vile for cloyster or other mons that are left.

2. Mamoswine
Item:Focus Sash
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
Moveset:
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard
If the opponent has something like Heatran, Excadrill, Cinderace or Tyranitar( the most common i met) you can instead lead Mamoswine instead of Ninetales. To set up Stealth Rock it helps sweepers later on.

After setting rocks, often trade Mamoswine for one or a few KOs depending on a match up. You aslo could save it for later if the opponet switches their things up and you might need it later on to finish their pokemon. Anyway as Earthquake demolishes most Fire and Steel types, meanwhile Icicle Crash handles flying or grass leads. If something is low or Mamoswine is low, Ice Shard will do some job.

If the Focus Sash stays intact, you can also use him late-game as a revenge killer under Aurora Veil, but usually really rarerly as he by then either dead or sits at low hp at best it can be traded to evade a hit later on.
3. Avalugg
Item:Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
Moveset:
- Rapid Spin
- Recover
- Avalanche
- Body Press
Man and best of your physical walls as it can reach up to 794 defense stat with aurora veil(if i remember correctly) and also playing hazard control. Usually bring it in against any physical threat like Great Tusk, Dragonite, Garchomp, or Mega Lopunny. Rapid Spin clears enemy hazards, also gives speed bonus but usually that imactful as it one of the slowest pokemons, but still don’t rush it. You usually should wait until your offensive Pokemon are ready to come in or the pokemon that could set the hazard is dead.

After tanking a hit, Recover to stay healthy, or Body Press to punish switch-ins or deal chip/good damage. Avalanche works best after taking a hit because of its double power and also suprises many opponents.
If you predict a setup sweeper you can keep or quickly swith in Avalugg to tank a hit and retaliate.
4. Cloyster
Item:White Herb
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Shell Smash
- Icicle Spear
- Rock Blast
- Hydro Pump

Cloyster is the main sweeper under Aurora Veil. When bulky Waters or priority users are gone Cloyster can be brought in safely, ideally after something faints. Use Shell Smash as first move, which doubles your Attack and Speed, and the White Herb cancels the negative effects.

After that, you just start clicking moves that are better for the typing:
  • Icicle Spear(Dragons, Flyers, and Grasses)
  • Rock Blast (Ice types, Fire types)
  • Hydro Pump (Steels)
If the opponent has priority moves or just faster you will need Veil otherwise you just die 99% of the time.

5. Weavile
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
Moveset:
- Knock Off
- Icicle Crash
- Low Kick
- Ice Shard
Weavile is a very strong revenge killer and fast cleaner. Brought out it only after something dies, or when the opponent is slightly chipped. Knock Off early to throw away items that can be very useful to the opponents like leftovers

If you predict a switch into something heavy like Ferrothorn or Tyranitar, Low Kick badly injures them and you cna easily finish them after. Icicle Crash is main STAB, and Ice Shard gives you priority that you cna use to finish something off or deal a significant damage.

6. Walrein
Items: Leftovers
Ability: Ice Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Protect
- Substitute
- Blizzard
- Surf
Walrein is backup win condition when sweeping isn’t possible as it can stall drain punch or close combat or any other very effective moves. As the Protect + Substitute combo keeps it alive while Leftovers + Ice Body heals each turn under hail.

If we take for example something like Mega Lopunny or Iron Hands is on the field, Protect first to bait the move. If they use Drain Punch, you can then Substitute, forcing them to waste turns.
Once they’re low, Surf or Blizzard can finishe the job.

wassup fam, honestly we dont rate / support cobblemon and stuff like that as that beat the purpose of help on our site. As you mentioned above, restrictions, some mons are not on the game or hard to find in the server really makes it hard to give suggestions + rate the teams. My main advice is to go look at videos that support that and see what you can come up with from there. Other than that, i can give some suggestions especially since your trying to use one of the most difficult types to utilize. Overall, the team is also slow and not really utilizing screens with only shell smash as the only "true" abuser right now.

:ninetales-alola: this is fine, consider max spa max speed if anything to hit harder especially since zamazenta just 6-0es your whole team, personal preferences though

Mamoswine @ Focus Sash
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Endeavor
- honestly this should fit more as a sash lead Mamoswine here. Not being able to be taunted and intimidated is huge as a lead. Endeavor + ice shard is nice combo as well for trading since most of the time you'll be on low health and being able to trade with walls you dont normally take out like ferrothorn is really appreciated.

Cloyster @ White Herb
Ability: Skill Link
Hidden Power: Fire
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Shell Smash
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Icicle Spear

- Your team is lacking on the special side and can easily handle threats without the need for rock blast in the set. HP Fire is really good at deleting ferrothorn and scizor which your team REALLY APPRECIATES. If you really want Rock Blast on Cloyster you can keep it over HP Fire.

Weavile @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Triple Axel
- Low Kick
- Pursuit

- Team needs speed control, Knock utility, and pursuit trapping and weavile fits that nice role compression. pretty straight forward and not really needing no in depth explanation here.

- Remove Walrein for z belly drum cetitan
Overall walrein is just too passive on this comp and you rather not lose out momentum on screens ho. Z Normal Cetitan abuses snow while also being a strong lategame sweeper / wincondition with access to priority which can remove troubling threats like zamazenta, Corviknight, and mega charizard y after a belly drum.
