Rules

All battles MUST be played either on Pokémon Showdown! or Smogtours (smogtours.psim.us). No exceptions will be granted if another server is used.

Regular Season:
The regular season will consist of 5 round robin weeks where each team will play the other 5 teams one at a time. There are 6 matches each round, so ties are a possibility. Each week win is 2 points, a tie is 1 point, and a loss is 0 and will be recorded on the spreadsheet.

Finals:
The 2 teams with the best record will move on to the finals, with the victors of that week being crowned the Monotype BLT champions.

The teams that make the playoffs will be decided as such. Week records first are the most important of course. Followed by battle differentials. Finally, if that does not resolve the issue a tiebreaker will happen, which will be a bo3 of SS Monotype + both teams will choose one-tier.

Tiebreaker:
The tiebreaker will consist of 3 games: 1 SwSh Monotype, the other 2 slots will be chosen by the participating teams. The first game will be SwSh Monotype, losing team picks next meta, then the 3rd tier will be played as the last match.

Substitutions:
If a captain wishes to substitute a player for an inactive one in the lineup, you must post in the week's thread who is subbing in for who. In addition, please make the post highlight the opponent and their Captain so everyone is aware of the substitution that had occurred. If I feel that you are trying to gain an unfair advantage with your substitute, I hold the right to veto it.

Activity Decisions:
There will be times when a game is not completed. In these instances, I will undertake my duty as a host to make a thorough investigation. If both sides made no effort or have tried to make every effort but could still not make the match happen, the match will simply result in a no contest. If one side made considerably more of an effort to get the match scheduled and done, that player will be awarded a win. Here are some things you can do to ensure that you do not lose your match via activity: Immediately leave your opponent a VM on their profile after you receive the highlight, do not miss you and your opponent’s schedule time, provide your opponent with concrete times (and your timezone) when you can be reached and reply to your opponent’s VM if they contacted you before you were able to contact them.

Reverse Rulings:
Rulings will not be reversed unless it is immediately appealed and I overlooked a critical piece of evidence. After it is posted in the Administration thread, we reserve the right to reverse the judgment within 12 hours of the decision going public in order to get the best outcome of each situation.

Poor Sportmanship:
If you exhibit an excessive amount of poor sportsmanship, I reserve the right to ban you from the tournament. A player who has been reported for being a horrible presence in their team or have been overly rude to another will receive one warning. If they do not correct this issue after it, they will be banned.

RE: Boosting in Room Tours

Over the course of Week 5 and Week 6 of BLT, there were a few different cases of boosting. This is where one player intentionally forfeited a room tour match to allow another player an easier time qualifying for the draft. The users that took part in this were barred from qualifying for the draft. This tournament will not allow cheating of any kind and will be met with punitive action!

RE: Melmetal

Following the vote to ban Melmetal, Melmetal will be banned from SS Monotype effective next round (Week 2). The format should be played in SS Ubers, since Melmetal is still allowed there, please still follow the Monotype banlist when using this format. It is allowed to be used in SS Monotype for the rest of this week!

RE: smub vs Bondie

Here is the situation, Bondie and smub scheduled on discord for a time on Friday. They both agreed to a said time on either Saturday or Sunday. Then on Saturday, it was postponed, which is fine because Sunday was open for both players. Bondie then again contacted smub on Sunday and asked if he could play, however, smub was not online and Bondie no longer had time to play. Since Bondie was on both times and smub was not, I will be giving the act win to Bondie.
