hi, this is my first rmt post. i'm pretty new to competitive battling so i desperately need help.

474.png

focus sash
speed boost
modest
252 sp atk/152 spe/104 def
protect
hypnosis
bug buzz
air slash

i chose yanmega because it is a pretty decent lead and probably the best bug type lead.. i can protect against faster leads to get a speed boost and then proceed to use hypnosis.bug buzz and air slash are 2 STAB moves that can deal out some damage. aerodactyl can be a big problem to yanmega if hypnosis misses and aerodactyl uses taunt, which will force me to switch

212.png

life orb
technician
adamant
252 atk/224 spe/32 HP
swords dance
bullet punch
quick attack
brick break

it is pretty obvious why i chose scizor. it is one of the most powerful pokemon in OU and is a must on a bug team. after one swords dance it is capable of sweeping entire teams. its low speed doesnt matter because it has 2 technician boosted priority moves. magnezone is scizors biggest threat especially if is carryong HP fire. this is why brick break is needed on the final slot.

123.png

life orb
technician
jolly
252 atk/252 spe/4 Def
swords dance
aerial ace
x-scissor
reversal

i chose scyther because it is another great physical sweeper and has a lot of speed. after a swords dance aerial ace can KO tons of pokemon with its 90 base power. x-scissor is a great STAB move and reversal is in the fiinal slot because it is easy to get low on health with life orb.

284.png

choice specs
intimidate
modest
252 Sp atk/252 spe/4 HP
hydro pump
bug buzz
air slash
hidden power fire

i chose masquerain because i needed a special sweeper and it has a good movepool. hydro pump beats rock types, which are common switch ins to masquerain. bug buzz and air slash are powerful STABs and HP fire is for steel types, like bronzong and skarmory, who my team have problems taking down

205.png

leftovers
sturdy
relaxed
252 HP/144 Def/112 atk
rapid spin
spikes
earthquake
payback

i chose forretress because almost all my team are weak to stealth rock. earthquake is used first because if my opponent has a magnezone or heatran they will switch it in to counter forretress. payback is for the rotom appliances who block rapid spin and are immune to earthquake. spikes is a good support move.

213.png

leftovers
sturdy
careful
252 HP/ 252 Sp def/ 4 def
encore
toxic
knock off
rest

i chose shuckle because i needed a bug type that is not weak to fire. it has a whopping 614 sp def, to stop flamethrowers and fire blasts. encore is a great move that forces switches. knock off is a good support move. toxic is also a good support move. rest is for recovery.

the most notable counters to this team are heatran and magnezone.
heatran can OHKO all of my team except shuckle, who is useless against it anyway because heatran is immune to toxic.
magnezone has magnet pull and can 2HKO(i think) scizor and forretress with thunderbolt, or OHKO them with HP fire. its STAB thunderbolt, OHKO's scyther, masqurain and yanmega and it is steel type, which means shuckle cant toxic stall it to death.

any advice in countering these 2 pokemon and any advice in general would be greatly aprreciated. thanks.

Honestly, your only hope of actually winning, besides accidentally encoutering a mono Grass team somehow, is to utilitze Ninjask. There are a lot of offensive teams out there that doesn't have a lick of a phazer. Replace Scyther with this. Now, you have Pokes able to abuse this, we'll go with Heracross as a sweeper here, who is also your only hope at breaking a stall team, and a good chance at that tbh. Your Scizor will be fine as well.

Keep Forretress as your wall, and Shuckle to take special attacks. You honestly, honestly need Earthquake on that thing. But Aeroblacktyl, Shuckle has shit attack, why am I using Earthquake? Well because I'm better than you and I know what's best. Earthquake so you can actually kill the Heatran you're walling. So you can actually kill the the Infernape, etc.

Now Yanmega is fine and as for the last slot, I'd honestly like another recipient of SD/speed boosts. Pinsir comes to mind, and is great as it can EQ the fucking Rotom's!

Heracross would do this team wonders (in place of Scyther).
If you used Ninjask instead of Yanmega, you could baton pass speed boosts to Heracross for him to sweep.
You only need five of the same type for a monotype team, so you could replace something for another poke to cover your Heatran and Magnezone weakness.
I also have a monotype bug team that I'm pretty fond of.
Good luck!

Tubaking: No that doesn't break the species clause because even though Scizor is the evolved form of Scyther there still different pokemon entirely.

1st: Scyther is just a horrible indecent clone of Scizor in all the terms of this team. Heracross in place of Scyther and your team thanks you with bowing.

2nd: I'm sensing.... Heatran..... as It comes out to batte...... and rolls on its back an laughs. I'm gonna be serious here that's the single biggest counter to your team sense Humans decided it'd be a good idea to invent laxatives lol. My point is that your should probly get something that helps against heatran.... which might I point out isn't existant for your bug team. Laugh Heatran laugh Mabye it'll die from it. That's pretty much all ya got against it. (No I'm not taunting or making fun of your team. I'm only trying to tell you that heatran "roasts" this team to next sunday.)

-you have 3 pokemon that are X4 weak to SR,as mentioned scizor does almost everything better than scyther.so i suggest replacing it with a scarf heracross as not only that you will have less pokemon weak to SR,but it also allows you to destroy heatran(if your running jolly that is)

-speaking of heatran,it completly destroys your team.your best hope is to ethier use heracross as mentioned above,or run scarf at yanmega and giving it hp ground.

-you need more all-out attackers,as taunt destroys your team.so i would ethier put choice band on that scizor or as mentioned above put a scarf on yanmega.

uhh good luck on your team through.

First, your team is severely weak against today's metagame, with almost every pokemon carrying Fire moves and Rock type moves + Stealth Rock.I suggest using another pokemon not of the bug type for a wildcard, namely Heatran.Heatran has great synergy with bug types, resisting all bug type weaknesses and the bug types resist all of its weaknesses bar water.Seeing that your team has no effective revenge killer(except Scizor),I suggest the Scarf set:

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Naive Nature
Standard EVs
-Fire Blast
-Earth Power
-Dragon Pulse
-Explosion

Next,I suggest you utilize Ninjask and make Yanmega a late game Choice Specs sweeper with Tinted Lens as it will be more effective and it deals more damage overall.Ninjask can help you in many ways like passing Swords Dance boosts to Scizor and/or Scyther.I suggest using the standard set:

Ninjask @ Leftovers
Jolly Nature
Standard EVs
-Substitute
-Swords Dance
-Protect
-Baton Pass

Since you run this Ninjask set which effectively helps you boost Scizor's attacking prowess,I suggest you switch to the most commonly known Scizor set,CBZor,and max Attack is not necessary for this one.You may move some EVs for bulkiness to take hits better.I guess you should know the set,and I shouldn't need to type it out.

Next,Yanmega is more effective as a late-game sweeper once its threats are gone.I suggest using this Yanmega sete for late-game sweeping:

Yanmega @ Choice Specs
Tinted Lens
Moedst / Timid
Standard
-Bug Buzz
-Air Slash
-HP Fire
-Ancientpower

Next, run Quick Attack over a move on Scyther for priority.Otherwise I suggest replacing it with Heracross.

Heracross @ Choice Scarf
Guts
Adamant
4 hp / 252 atk / 252 spe
-Megahorn
-Close Combat
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge.

Hope this helps.
