Project Monotype Community-Create-A-Team

approved by Eien and Vid / banner by MiyoKa
Welcome to Monotype Community-Create-A-Team, a weekly Monotype Event where users come together to build fresh new teams, as a community.

Each week a host will choose a Monotype tier and a specific set, core, or archetype to build a team around. After the topic has been selected, the host will guide the community through the process of building and revising a team. Users will work together step-by-step to define the team's build, pick teammates to support the core, and flesh out sets. Finished teams will be posted here on the project thread, along with a brief description of the team-building process.

CCaTs will take place Saturdays in the Monotype Events Room at 6:00 pm GMT.

Here are some general guidelines regarding CCaTs:
  • Every CCaT will center team-building around a specific idea––a core, a set, or an archetype––selected by the host. Do not argue or appeal this idea during discussion. Use this thread as a place to suggest cores or ideas for an upcoming CCaT.
  • Suggestions for the team should be thoughtful. Remember that the purpose of the CCaT project is to build teams that are viable in the metagame. Creative and unconventional ideas are welcome and should be discussed.
  • When discussing a Pokemon, consider it both individually and in the larger context of the team. What role does it fill? How does it support the team? What support does it itself need?
  • Be prepared to make many revisions to the team over the course of the CCaT. Adjustments to movesets, EVs, or entire teamslots will be common at each stage of team-building.
  • Remember, discussion should, first and foremost, be civil and respectful. Flaming, shitposting, and hostility will not be tolerated.
The schedule for upcoming CCaTs can be found in this blue, bolded link.

As this is the inaugural cycle of the Create-A-Team, of course Vanilla USM would definitely be the best choice. As for general types (and also to give ideas to those in the PS WiFi room who are starting the mono tournament this month) it should be something versatile, not set in stone (hem Electric). I therefore suggest Semi-Stall/Balance Flying around Gliscor and Zarif Y.

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 184 HP / 252 Atk / 72 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Roost

Charizard-Mega-Y @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Drought
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature

- Fire Blast
- Solar Beam
- Focus Blast
- Roost

This team was built from the starting point of Offensive Cobalion Steel. We first settled on a mixed offensive LO set capable of checking threats such as Landorus-I and Garchomp with HP Ice and Mega Charizard Y with Stone Edge. We then added on the standard offensive Heatran as the mandatory fire immunity that could also help break down defensive cores with Magma trapping. From there we added on Celesteela to act as our Ground immunity and a durable mixed defensive wall. After that we added Ferrothorn to improve the Ground and Water matchups and serve as our hazard setter. We then added Mega Scizor and settled on a bulky offensive set with Knock Off to pester defensive cores and switchins.

At this point we started having trouble finding an appropiate sixth team slot. We wanted a revenge killer, however we noticed problems with the team no revenge killer could fix such as the team struggling with Mega Sableye. We considered Steelium Z SD Cobalion and Specs Magnezone, but eventually settled on adjusting Mega Scizor to use Bug Bite instead of Knock off to more effectively pressure Mega Sableye. We then finally added Scarf Excadrill to server as the team's revenge killer.

Thanks to everyone who helped contribute in the teambuilding, and make sure to participate in next week's CCaT for more USUM action!

I wasn't there for the entire part of the teambuilding process but I thought it was cool seeing everyone put their minds together to build a team. So, I'll drop some team ideas and see if any of them get chosen next time around. Take a looksie~ :psyduck:

Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 72 HP / 252 SpA / 184 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt
- Metal Sound
- Hidden Power [Fire]

The point of this set is to break past special walls and walls that usually check magnezone like venusaur (Flash cannon into Z kills standard def venusaur most of the time w/o rocks) and trap steel types like ferrothorn and excadrill locked into rock slide. Ayy lmao, name one special wall, bar chansey, that takes a metal sound into Z flash cannon. (252+ SpA Magnezone Corkscrew Crash (160 BP) vs. -2 248 HP / 8 SpD Eviolite Chansey: 364-429 (51.7 - 61%) -- guaranteed 2HKO):psysly:

Bolt/knot combined with hp ice fairs very well vs Water and Ground mu's. Pair this with pokemon that take on the steels that wall this set to death and you got a good offensive core. Who needs zapdos anyway? :psynervous:

Tornadus-Therian (M) @ Flyinium Z

From the get-go, we decided on an offensive Ice team focused on stacking its own hazards. Originally, the team was centered around Suicide Lead Cloyster, but it was later replaced with Froslass for its high Speed, typing, and overall more utility. Immediately after we picked teammates that directly take advantage of forced switches such as Kyurem-Black and Alolan Sandslash. Alolan Ninetales is essential to just about any Ice team so it was a no-brainer as well. Next up was deciding a Mega Scizor check. We ended up going with Rotom-Frost because it preserves momentum with Volt Switch and can actually burn Mega Scizor with Will-o-Wisp. Due to the redundancy of two Focus Sash users, we decided to compress an offensive Mamoswine set to include Stealth Rock as well.

It was really fun hosting this. Thanks to everyone who participated! :)

The core idea of this team was a sticky webs bug team focused on Mega Heracross. We chose Galvantula as our webs setter to help in the flying and water matchup and ran Jolly MegaHeracross to beat out Diggersby and Zapdos. After that, we added in the three remaining S Rank Pokemon onto our team; we considered Forretress instead of Armaldo, but ultimately decided we preferred the fire neutrality. We then put in defensive Volcarona to beat ground and act as a win condition in most matchups and added Choice band Pursuit Scizor to better deal with Victini. Our biggest split was in our last mon, between Durant and Scolipede, but we ultimately decided by one vote to run Life Orb Scolipede to solidify our psychic and fire matchups.

The concept for this week's team was focused on building around Z-Power Whip Ferrothorn in a Trick Room build. Ferrothorn's set is mainly built for breaking through tough walls on both Ground and Water that Steel can otherwise have a tough time with. Being a Trick Room team, we figured out our first addition to the team Jirachi. We decided that running Jirachi over another setter was ideal in order to be able to bring in Ferrothorn or another of our offensive threats safely via U-turn. Following this we added in the mandatory Heatran and decided to forego a fully offensive version with Eruption and utilize a trapper set in order to support the team better against things like Chansey and Volcarona. Next we went with Stakataka and decided to keep Rockium Z as the item so that we had a Z-move that could threaten completely different matchups in Bug, Fire, and Flying while also acting as a switch-in to Knock Off if need be. For our Ground immunity we picked up Skarmory in order to provide the team with a switch-in to major physical threats, such as Choice Scarf Terrakion, while also acting as our Stealth Rock user to free up Jirachi's rolls and our team's phaser to force out things such as Belly Drum Azumarill or Mega Charizard X at +1. Lastly we decided to use Excadrill as our speed control in order to have a check to Mega Sableye and to act as a solid revenge killer outside of Trick Room.

This week's team was centered around the idea of using Poison along with Spikes. Typically, Poison teams aren't able to fit hazards onto their teams as the only possible users are Budew, Venipede, and Trubbish. However, hazards are super important in LC to break Sturdy + Berry Juice users that are very threatening such as Tirtouga and Dwebble. Of these, Trubbish was picked thanks to its high Speed and ability to maintain its health with Berry Juice and Recycle. Next up was Gastly, who is able to act as a spin blocker for the team while also being very important Speed control, reaching a high 18 Speed, allowing it to outspeed most common Scarf users, helping immensely in the Flying matchup, while also outspeeding +1 Scraggy. Alolan Grimer is our important Psychic immunity, as Psychic coverage is quite common in LC. Out set has both Shadow Sneak to revenge kill weakened but faster Pokemon, along with Rock Tomb to help in the Flying matchup while also outspeeding Pokemon looking to switch into Grimer. Foongus is mandatory on Poison teams, being amazingly bulky with Regenerator while carrying utility in Spore and Clear Smog. Hidden Power Psychic is used as a lure for opposing Croagunks, which typically wall most Foongus sets. Croagunk was chosen as a Life Orb attacker, to immediately hit opposing teams hard with added coverage and Sucker Punch rather than the typical Eviolite and Bulk Up set. Mareanie was chosen last to synergize with Foongus, forming a potent Regenerator core along with Scald and Knock Off utility.

Thanks to everyone who participated, was a blast!

This week's CCaT was an offensive Flying team centered around Prankster Thundurus-Incarnate and Mega Aerodactyl. At first, we decided lead Aerodactyl would be optimal for this archetype, as its Speed allows it to get up Rocks easily and set up Tailwind for other Pokemon. Thundurus-Incarnate was picked as an offensive option with Thunder Wave to cripple faster Pokemon and carried Grass Knot in conjunction with Thunderbolt and Hidden Power Ice to pressure Water and Ground teams, and a Life Orb to boost the power of its attacks. For our third slot, everyone decided that Choice Band Dragonite would fit well because of its ability to live attacks with Multiscale and pressure bulkier teams with its power. At this point, everyone realized we needed a Ground-type Pokemon for the omnipresent Electric weakness of Flying-type teams. Landorus-Therain fell into the fourth slot as a Choice Scarf user and a Defogger with U-Turn to bring other Pokemon in. Steelium Z Celesteela was added into the 5th slot as an Automize setup sweeper.

Many people then suggested we use a Mega Evolution. We decided to change Focus Sash Aerodactyl to a Mega Aerodactyl set with Stealth Rock and Pursuit to trap and pick off weakened threats. Flyinum-Z Tornadus was nominated for the 6th slot, although Celesteela was already carrying a Z-Move, so we decided to swap Celesteela's set to a bulky Assault Vest one, therefore enabling the use of Flyinum Z on Tornadus. Originally we were going to use Taunt on Tornadus-Therain and Defog on Landorus-Therain, but we decided to have Defog on Tornadus-Therain since having Defog on a Choice locked Pokemon was shaky and unreliable, and replaced Defog with Stone Edge on Landorus-Therain.

Thanks to everyone that participated, especially StarBlim, The Excadrill, Harpp, and Haaku. !

So originally this weeks CCAT was suppose to be Monotype AAA, however due to scheduling issues no host with knowledge in AAA was able to host. So I volunteered to host an ORAS CCAT, so that is what ended up happening. Anyway, lets get to the team! As every HO Normal should have, we started with Suicide Lead Smeargle. Originally we wanted to use Nuzzle and Magic Coat for the open move slots with Smeargle, however we ended up later building with Sash+SD Diggersby and decided that Rapid Spin was a must to help keep its Focus Sash intact. Next we choose to add Mega Pidgeot. This set can 1v1 Special Walls such as Chansey, which would otherwise beat it. As Refresh+Roost allowed it to constantly stay healthy against fatter Pokemon. However since Mega Lopunny and Mega Pidgeot help break Steel-type Pokemon on Normal teams but we were not running that set we decided we needed a Pokemon that could really help break through Steel teams, so we chose SD Diggersby. This set allows us to hit all Steel-type Pokemon for Supereffective damage, while being able to freely switch through moves and Swords Dance up. Quick Attack was added over Return to give Diggersby and the team as a whole some form of priority. Next as a staple to all Normal teams we added Choice Scarf Ditto, this Pokemon makes the team less weak to setup sweepers, by discouraging their setup overall and can transform into Pokemon like Terrakion which picked up a kill against most of the team. The next Pokemon we added to the team was Choice Specs Meloetta. This gave us a second answer to Fighting-type Pokemon and was overall a good addition to the team being a strong immediate Special Wallbreaker. We opted to use Shadow Ball over Thunderbolt in order to help in the Ghost matchup, which usually Lopunny could take care of, however it was not on this team. This left with the last team slot, on which we decided Staraptor was the best fit onto the team. We decided on using Choice Band as its item because the only other Physical attacker was Diggersby and it wasnt Choice Band, which left us without an immediate Physical wallbreaker. The moveset on Staraptor is fairly standard though we opted to run Pursuit on Staraptor to allow it to Trap Heatran giving Diggersby an easy path to clean against Steel teams.

Thanks to everyone that participated, especially Harpp, smub, and terrors!

This team was an Balanced Water built around Mega Gyarados. First, we decided to support it with a core of Gastrodon + Empoleon, then added Choice Scarf Greninja as a revenge killer and included toxapex as a mixed wall, since there is basically no reason not to have them on water. Our last mon was a rotom-w to give us some measure of a ground resistance if Gyarados has to mega evolve. Gyarados runs a fairly standard Crunch / Earthquake / Waterfall cleaner set, while Greninja differs from the norm by having extrasensory as its fourth move on choice scarf. From there, however, we noticed some glaring weaknesses, and decided to include mantine + swampert > Empoleon + gastrodon to fix our hazard game and let us run baneful bunker on toxapex, which helps a lot with our normal MU.

E: The Excadrill and Warden boreas have both brought up an issue this team has with Azumarill fairy. To this end, they've offered two solutions.
Warden Boreas suggests running 44 speed EVs on Rotom-Wash, while The Excadrill suggests 96 Speed EVs on mantine. I think that the Rotom-W suggestion holds more merit, but this isn't a team by me so I'll be leaving both options here for consideration.

This week's CCaT is a poison team made around SubToxic Salazzle. After we decided Salazzle's moveset, we made many adjustments to its EV spread. In the end, we decided to EV Salazzle with bulk and just enough speed in order to speed creep base 115s and outspeed Starmie and Scarf Magnezone, while dumping the rest into Special Attack for more Fire Blast damage. We chose Alolan Muk for our next teammate because of its dark typing and special bulk allowing it to serve as an effective pursuit trapper on this and every Poison team. Crobat was our ground immunity, and we decided to give it Taunt over U-Turn in order for it to act as a stallbreaker. A stealth rock setter was then looked into, and our prime options were nidoking and nihilego. We decided to go with Nihilego because Salazzle already helped a ton in the Steel matchup. Toxapex and Venusaur filled the last slots. Toxic Toxapex was used over Toxic Spikes to more directly spread Poison rather than spread Poison on switchin, and for Salazzle to abuse later on in the game, while also hitting levitating pokemon such as Hydreigon and Zapdos.

Looking back at the team, we decided to use Scarf Nihilego for role compression of a scarfer and a stealth rock setter in one slot. we also had a couple of options for venusaur's moveset, including earthquake, sludge bomb and protect venusaur, but ultimately we decided to use the classic sludge bomb set.

This week's CCAT was a Monotype Electric AAA team. We built around suicide lead Alolan Golem as our Stealth Rocker, and the followed it upw ith the standard electric terrain setter, zapdos. Tapu Koko is a must on every Electric team, and provides much needed physical offensive prescence, so we added that on; we ultimately decided on using Quick Attack for its fourth moveslot for some much-appreciated speed control. From there, we wanted a sweeper to make use of electric terrain, but also wanted immediate offensive prowess, so we chose a Choice Specs Xurkitree as out surge surfer for the team. At this point, out team mostly struggles with electric immunities and steel, so we added Mold Breaker Manectric -> Mega Manectric to fix that. It's fast, an excellent pivot, and with mold breaker+thunderbolt+hidden power grass it can bypass sap sipper Ground / Water types and Volt Absorb water types. It can also threaten out Ferrothorn and Excadrill with a super effective flamethrower, which out electric team greatly appreciates. To finish up the squad, we chose Galvanize Pikachu as out speed control. With a STAB and Ligth Ball boosted Extreme Speed, it's very good at picking off offensive threats; with knock off and grass knot, it can also put some pressure on defensive cores.

This week's CCaT was a Trick Room Ghost team based around T-Spikes Cofagrigus. Cofagrigus has 44 special defense evs so that it will always live Blacephalon's Shadow Ball, while the rest of the EVs are dumped into Defense to maximize physical bulk, and Toxic Spikes are a way to wear the opposing team down through gradually badly poisoning the opposing Pokemon. Mega Sableye's role on this and every Ghost team is to cripple things with Knock Off and Will-O-Wisp and heal off damage with Recover, while on this team we decided on Foul Play to pressure setup sweepers. A Trick Room Mimikyu with SD is our third team member, with a Red Card to phaze out opposing Pokemon when needed. Hoopa is one of our Trick Room abusers, with Nasty plot + 3 atacks and a minimum speed stat used to utilize trick room, and Z-Focus Blast to wallbreak after setting up with Nasty Plot. Alolan Marowak is our main Trick Room abuser, and we decided to put Stealth Rock on it and LightningRod in order to make up for the lack of golurk on the team. We chose Choice Scarf Gengar as our last Pokemon and speed control out of Trick Room.

For this week we built a Bug Monotype LC team. We started off building the team by using the essentially 3 main factors for a Bug team. First is Anorith, the only viable hazard remover on Bug LC Monotype teams. It is also an effective fast hazard setter with Stealth Rock, Flying-type check with Rock Blast, and a very important ability to remove items with Knock Off. For the Sticky Web setter, we went with Dewpider over Surskit to have a bulkier setter rather than a suicide lead setter. It has great defenses, while still dishing out decently strong Scalds. Giga drain allows it to hit Water-types that otherwise wall it while Mirror Coat allows it to kill special attackers effectively. Dwebble is a mandatory on any Bug LC team as a supremely effective sweeper with SturdyJuice and Shell Smash. For the last three we mixed it up a bit. Instead of the usual Scarf Joltik, we're opting for Agility to be a surprise factor in the tricky Water matchup, without having to play around Chinchou perfectly. Larvesta is our Choice Scarf Pokemon as it's a powerful physical attacker with great STABs and pivoting with U-turn. Acrobatics allows it to deal big blows to Fighting-type teams if its item gets removed by Knock Off. For our final slot, we're trying out a nearly never used Pokemon, Skorupi. It acts as a secondary Knock Off user, essentially the best move in LC. It also acts as a fast Taunt user to help prevent hazards from opposing teams, relieving the pressure from Anorith, which otherwise inhibit Larvesta and Dwebble.

After a small hiatus, a small CCaT has been hosted with a USM Dragon team using Toxic Spikes Dragalge. Our Dragalge set is a bit standard with Z Sludge Wave to OHKO Mega Diancie, a huge threat to Dragon. Toxic Spikes help Dragalge apply pressure on Normal and Fairy. We made Garchomp a bulky set with Rocky Helmet so that it could set rocks multiple times throughout a match which fits the bulky nature of this team. Over the standard Scarf Latios, we chose to use Scarf Latias over it because of the utility it provides through healing wish. keeping Pokemon like Garchomp and Dragalge healthy if they happen to get worn down. We were originally going to use a SubRoost set on Kyurem Black, but we finally decided to change Substitute to Earth Power in order to help in the Steel matchup and to hit Heatran. Mega Altaria is the chosen Mega Evolution on this team since Mega Latias was unavaible due to Latias filling the speed control role on this team. We decided Facade would be nice to punish status if Mega Altaria ever does get statused, and put Earthquake on the fourth slot for coverage. Hydreigon falls in the last slot and helps with matchups like Steel and Psychic while serving as an optimal wallbreaker with Choice Specs. Originally we were going to use a more passive taunt + roost set that uses Fire Blast and Dark Pulse to stallbreak steel-types like Ferrothorn and Celesteela. We ended up using Specs after finding that it was more useful in general and helped keep offensive pressure with the team.

Thank you to all who participated!

In the spirit of Halloween, after a long hiatus, we decided to build a Ghost team around Substitute Calm Mind Blacephalon, a set known to be a huge threat to Normal-type teams as it can effectively set up on Chansey. We first decided to to use 252 Special Attack and 252 Speed EVs on Blacephalon to ensure that it boosted Special Attack over Speed, as we felt that the extra power was nice. We then added Mega Sableye and Mimikyu, two staples on Ghost. There was some debate over the fourth moveslot on Mega Sableye, but we finally decided to use Foul Play in order to punish physical attackers such as Mega Scizor and Bisharp, while it could also break Mega Sharpedo's Substitute, a set that has been seeing usage as of late. Life Orb on Mimikyu was the optimal item as Blacephalon carries the Z-Crystal on this team. We next added a Stealth Rock setter, Alolan Marowak, and decided on 228 speed with a Jolly nature in order to creep 16 speed Mega Venusaur and 96 speed Mantine and hit them first. Now, our original plan was to fill the last 2 slots on the team with Jellicent and Dusclops. Mean Look + Pressure Dusclops seemed like a cool option here to trap and drain the PP of Pokemon but the problem of speed control arose and we decided on Jellicent and a Choice Scarf Gengar in the last slot in order to fix this issue. We then fixed Blacephalon's set so that Beast Boost boosted speed over Special Attack, which allowed it to threaten Normal by outspeeding Mega Lopunny after it collects a kill. Without any Ground resistances, our team seemed a bit Ground weak, so Guwahavell suggested putting 164 defense EVs on Mega Sableye to be able to take 2 Earthquakes from Choice Scarf Landorus Therain, while we decided to dedicate Gengar's last and free slot to Hidden Power Ice or Energy Ball, both of which hit different Ground-type Pokemon.

Diggersby Sandless Ground

For this CCAT we decided to go with a different playstyle for a rather obscure type, Ground. We decided that we would build the team around Z-move Diggersby, as it allowed us to break through a lot of walls like Mega Venusaur and Staraptor. We decided that we would run Jolly on diggersby so we could have a good chance at KO'ing Jolly non-scarf Tapu Bulu with an unboosted Breakneck Blitz. After this we would add Mega-Steelix to act as a wincon against Fairy with its CurseTalk set. Since Steelix was not using Stealth Rocks we decided to put stealth rocks on seismitoad and role compressed it so that it also served as an Azumarill check. For our speed control, since we wanted to use Landorus-I we decided to use Scarf Garchomp with EV's to survive one Tapu Bulu Wood Hammer so that way our team wasn't slow. After that we put in our special attackers in Nidoking and Landorus so that we could deal with Celesteela and have a better matchup against Flying teams as well as balance in general. Nidoking in particular is running toxic spikes so that types like normal and water can get worn down. I had a lot of fun hosting this CCAT and I hope those that participated did as well!

Reuniclus Psychic

We decided to do a CCaT for fun this week. This week's team was a Psychic team based on Reuniclus. We decided on a set revolving around Z-Thunder to skew Mantine in the Water and Flying matchups, and therefore pose a huge threat to the rest of the team. The Speed EVs are for outspeeding Haze Toxapex, and the rest is dumped into its physical bulk to support the Calm Mind set. Jirachi was then our decided Stealth Rock user. We decided to go slash Thunder Wave and Toxic at first. Slowbro was then our third teammate, and we decided to include Thunder Wave on it with Toxic on Jirachi in order to include both forms of status ailments. We decided on Mega Gallade as our mega evolution choice, as its sheer power and stabs make it a good Mega Evolution on Psychic teams in general, and the majority of the metagame has no swichins to it after it uses Swords Dance. We then decided on Choice Scarf Victini to accompany Mega Gallade as speed control, and a Defog Latios in the last slot for removing hazards while keeping up longevity with Roost and doing consistent damage with its STABs.

Scrafty Fighting

Fighting was decided as the type for this week of CCAT with a poll. We decided to sway away from standard and decided to build around Scrafty which offers the team with a Psychic-type immunity, improving Psychic-type match up and acting as a great win condition with its Bulk Up set. The Speed evs on Scrafty allows it to outspeed defensive Celesteela, Empoleon, and Swampert. Rest of the evs are invested into its HP stat and Special defense stat to allow it to take hits better from Pokemon like Latios. Next up, we decided on a Stealth Rock user for the team and we agreed on having Stealth Rock Terrakion on the team as it can not only set up Stealth Rock but also pose a threat to Flying-types with its great STAB, and attack stat. After adding Terrakion as the Stealth Rock setter we decided on a Speed control for the team. Choice Scarf Infernape was decided on as it has decent speed and coverage moves to take care of threats like Tapu Koko with Gunkshot while also offering U-turn support. Next, Mega Gallade was added as it is nearly a must have for the type and improves the Poison-type match up. Kommo-o was added next as a special wall breaker. Taunt variation was agreed upon since it is better at taking care of walls like Mantine and Toxapex. Lastly, we added Hawlucha on the team which can take advantage of weakening walls and act as a cleaner with its Unburden ability.

ORAS: Gyarados Balanced Flying

Today we decided to build an ORAS team, then we chose to build a Flying team, due to the number of options we could build with rather than some of the more stagnant ORAS types. The Mega Pokemon we decided to use was Gyarados and with that, we felt using the Resttalk set could better take on matchups such as Ground and Normal, which Flying could otherwise struggle against. The EVs are fairly standard and from the smogon dex. Then we decided we would use Zapdos and Skarmory, a tried and true defensive core on Flying teams to compliment the Gyarados. We decided to go with Defog on both of the Pokemon as Flying always appreciates multiple ways to Defog away hazards. Skarmory has Iron Head so it can check premiere threats to the type such as Weavile, Terrakion, and Mega Diancie for the team, while also not making it complete Taunt bait. Zapdos is running Volt Switch to gain momentum for the team and we opted to go with Heat Wave with Toxic because Ferrothorn seemed like a problem at this point in teambuilding. However later we added Landorus and Dragonite, so opting to use Toxic over Heat Wave is a fine option over Heat Wave. Zapdos has enough investment in Speed to outpace Heatran, then the rest was dumped into Special Defense to allow it to take on Electric-types such as Thundurus and Mega Manectric on with more ease. For the first part of the offensive core we decided to add on Landorus, since it does two very critical jobs for the team, the first being adding a powerful special wallbreaker and the other being a Stealth Rock setter, which we opted to not use on Skarmory to be able to run Defog twice on the team. Landorus always runs Earth Power and Focus Blast to be able to nail Steel-type Pokemon such as Mega Scizor, Heatran, and Ferrothorn. The last coverage slot we decided to go with Rock Slide to ease the matchup against other Flying teams while also being able to check threats such as Mega Charizard Y and Volcarona for the team. However opting to run Sludge Wave for Fairy and Grass-types such as Clefable and Breloom or Psychic for Poison- and Fighting-types such as Mega Venusaur and Keldeo are fine options as well. We then decided the team was fairly slow so we decided to add Thundurus, as a Prankster Pokemon with access to Thunder Wave being able to cripple a variety of threats such as Mega Sharpedo and Mega Lopunny for the team. Its coverage moves allow it to take on opposing Flying teams with relative ease as well as being able to take on Water teams very effectively. Lastly, we decided to run Dragonite since it is a fantastic physical wallbreaker and revenge killer, being able to check Normal- and Steel-type Pokemon with Superpower such as Chansey and Heatran. It also runs Fire Punch to nail Grass and Steel-type Pokemon such as Ferrothorn for the team. Overall this is a solid Balanced Flying team that we found some success with. Special thanks to Vodoom, Derpeddeath, and Aehzo for helping build this team and anyone else I may have forgotten.

Baton Pass Psychic

The theme for the team ending up being baton pass and as psychic being one of the best options in dpp for baton pass thats what we decided on. First we decided on probably the best lead in the tier Azelf with its usual moves to stop rocks and set them itself and do big damage on basically anything with explosion. from there we chose celebi for a baton pass set since it has multiple set up options in Swords dance/Calm mind/Nasty plot and Substitute and being a generally great option vs ground and water with just seed bomb or giga drain depending on the set. From there we added a possible abuser in latias a really destructive mon in the dpp meta with a plethora of options to deal with basically anything you want it too. scarf Jirachi was another possible abuser if we decided on SD celebi but is still annoying without any sd support with its Iron heads and uturn support is always appreciated. Then since we saw we were getting quite Steel Weak we added a solid answer in Bulk Up medicham with recover to have some sustainability (can also drop recover or tpunch for baton pass and change the celebi set to something more offensive). then we added metagross to check scarf ghost mons like rotom forms and gengar with pursuit and a good amount of bulk in HP.

I unfortunately didn't get many useful replays of this team in action but ill drop some replays here:
