Monotype Espathra

Espathra @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Stored Power
- Dazzling Gleam / Substitute
- Roost

This ratite is raring to go! Speed Boost and Calm Mind turns Espathra into an increasingly dangerous sweeper that can snowball through entire teams. Stored Power rapidly gains power and lets it break past Unaware users such as Clodsire, making Espathra progressively more difficult to wall. Dazzling Gleam hits Dark-types, such as Greninja and Hydreigon. Substitute makes it easier for Espathra to set up and makes it difficult to dispatch in a last Pokemon scenario. Roost keeps Espathra healthy throughout a match and enables it to acquire multiple Calm Mind boosts to sweep. 44 Speed EVs ensures Espathra outspeeds Dragapult after one turn with Speed Boost. The remaining EVs are poured into HP and Defense to enable Espathra to set up as much as possible. Espathra appreciates dual screens support from Scream Tail, as it eases setup considerably. Hatterene and Gallade are good partners for Espathra that can deal with Dark-types. Armarouge is a teammate that can handle Steel-types. Finally, Indeedee can provide Psychic Terrain support to boost Stored Power, switch into Ghost-type attacks, and offer Healing Wish support.

This ratite is raring to go! Speed Boost alongside Calm Mind turns Espathra into an increasingly dangerous sweeper that threatens to snowball through entire teams. Stored Power increases in strength the more boosts Espathra has, enabling it to break past Unaware users such as Dondozo (you usually lose the setup war vs Dozo) and Clodsire and making it progressively more difficult to wall. Dazzling Gleam improves the matchup against Dark-type Pokemon and especially Mono Dark teams. (you dont beat mono dark with patra, Kingambit and Ting-lu laughs and just murders it. Perhaps targeting Dark-types like Greninja and Hydreigon would make a better mention) On the other hand, Substitute makes it easier for Espathra to set up (It also makes for a very difficult to dispatch mon in a last mon standing scenario). Roost keeps Espathra healthy throughout a match and enables it to acquire multiple Calm Mind boosts to sweep. Espathra appreciates dual screens support from Scream Tail, as it eases setting up considerably. Scream Tail also provides entry hazard support to chip opponenents into range for Espathra's attacks. Finally, Indeedee can provide Psychic Terrain support to boost Stored Power and protect Espathra from priority attacks.
*Very important mentions are Hatterene and Gallade, deals with Darks esp since sub is slashed here
*Arma is also a good shout vs steel types which kinda scoff at subless Patra
*Mention the speed benchmark, outspeeds pult at +1, allowing it to beat it if its worn down
