Monotype: Offensive Psychic Ft. Mega Latias

hoopa-unbound.gif

Hoopa-Unbound @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Hyperspace Fury
- Hyperspace Hole
- Trick
- Drain Punch

Trick is my playstyle preference, as I really like crippling Pokemon such as Klefki, Mew, Skarmony, etc... Drain punch to mix up special and physical attack, and help with troubling Pokemon such as chansey, tyranitar, etc... Hyperspaces for typical moves that are phenomenal in nature and added STAB.

latias.gif

Kanye (Latias) @ Latiasite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Roost
- Thunderbolt
- Calm Mind
- Ice Beam

This is the powerhouse and sweeper of the team. This Poke alone can sweep through lesser used types such as Electric. Furthermore, with the combination of ice beam and Thunderbolt, Mega Lati can crush through the core of more commonly used and powerful types such as dragon, ground, and most notably flying.

metagross.gif

Metagross @ Assault Vest
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Iron Head
- Earthquake
- Zen Headbutt

This was inserted primarily for added SpD assistance, as well as providing a great counter to dragon and fairy moves. I also did not want to be locked into a move on this Pokemon such as having it use choice band. Furthermore, due to its great power and added attack evs, Metagross can 2HKO several pokemon that switch into it, especially with the added bonus of priority based bullet punch move. Lastly, I chose Iron Head over Meteor Mash because the 10 less damage points is worth not having a crucial hax miss in a battle, but thinking rationally about it now, I could be wrong.

victini.gif

Jurassic (Victini) @ Life Orb
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Blue Flare
- Energy Ball
- Glaciate
- Focus Blast

I found this set through playing OU, and it is extremely useful in the mono tier as well. Due to its diversified movepool, Victini can smash through the core of almost any type. Energy ball also provides a niche bonus in OHKO-ing stally water/ground Pokemon such as Defensive Swampert, Seismitoad, Quagsire as well as Sp Defensive Gastrodon. Focus Blast and Blue flare also incredibly helpful in beating dark teams by doing major damage against threats such as Mega Sabeleye, Tyranitar, and Mandibuzz.

mew.gif

Mike D (Mew) @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 100 HP / 156 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Will-O-Wisp
- Roost
- Taunt

Mew is the perfect lead, and due to its Speed investment, it can out-speed almost any other opposing Pokemon the opponent chooses to lead with (I.E. taunt) . Furthermore, this provides the much needed defensive counter my team needs. And due to its great speed, Mew can tank a physical attack, then out-speed the pokemon by burning it, then proceeding to roost etc... - Totally neutralizing physical attacking Pokemon.

gallade.gif

J. Cole (Gallade) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Justified
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Rock Slide
- Drain Punch
- Shadow Sneak

Gallade is an amazing contributor, due to its SpD bulk and ability to counter very threatening Pokemon. To illustrate, I am able to take 2 boosted volcarona bug buzz's then 1HKO it with rockslide, as well as 1HKO Charizard Y while taking a fireblast too. Furthermore, due to its great ability justified, I am able to counter potentially sweeping dark Pokemon, most notably Heidregon.

INSERT THREAT LIST HERE
Hoopa-Unbound @ Choice Scarf: This Pokemon can easily crush half my time if I dont speed tie it with my Hoopa First

Mega Sabeleye: If Victini is out of the picture, Mega Sabeleye easily recks my team through a number of its sets such as foul play, knock off, or stall calm mind.

Sharpedo: If I allow this to gain speed without burning it first, I am in for a long afternoon.

Physical Attackers: Slowbro or Bronzong's absence hurts the physical defensive presence of my team, especially if mew dies. Threatening Physical attackers then have the potential to do serious damage.

Hey dude! Nice team you have there. Psychic is really standard but the change up with Metagross is nice. I have a few changes that may benefit the team, and even patch up some holes.

On Mew max speed is never needed. You usually just need enough to speed creep Bisharp and Breloom to get a burn off. I would change the speed to 116 Speed, with the rest in HP and maybe Special Defense so that you are able to speed creep Bisharp and Breloom.

On Metagross I would switch Meteor Mash for Iron Head, seeing as you have a change at an attack boost with Meteor Mash, and you hit harder then Iron Head.

For Victini and Hoopa, I suggest switching the roles a bit and here's why. Victini is a fantastic scarfer, and a great revenge killer. Hoopa on the other hand, is more of a balance/stall breaker for most teams. The wall breaking ability's of Hoopa are limited with Choice Scarf. Because of this, I believe you should run Choice Scarf>Life Orb on Victini, and Life Orb>Choice Scarf on Hoopa U. The new move set on Victini can be V Create, U turn, Bolt Strike, and Zen Headbutt. V create and Zen are the primary STABS, while Bolt Strike hits waters, and U turn for Pivoting. For Hoopa you can run the same moves, but with Gunk Shot>Trick to hit annoying fairy type Pokemon, and have great coverage overall.

Hoopa-Unbound @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Hyperspace Fury
- Hyperspace Hole
- Gunk Shot
- Drain Punch

Jurassic (Victini) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Bolt Strike
- Zen Headbutt
- U Turn
- V Create

Metagross @ Assault Vest
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake
- Zen Headbutt

Mike D (Mew) @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 52 Def / 88 SpD / 116 Spe Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Will-O-Wisp
- Roost
- Taunt

I hope these changes work for you, oh and don't forget to write a threatlist, goodluck! If you have any questions you can personally message me on Smogon :)

Hey, dude! Pretty cool team but there's some stuff I feel should change from Barian's rate and some other things to add. Here ya go:

First of all, regarding Victini, choice scarf is definitely the better set>life orb. Physical scarf tini is able to hit incredibly hard with the strongest fire stab in the game, V-Create. It also has an amazing move called Bolt Strike to help lots vs matchups like water, flying, etc because tini can usually check most mons on those respective types. U-Turn is nice momentum vs teams with mons that can actually wall tini (p2 - normal, swampert - water, ground - hippo to name a few) allowing you to switch into one of your other mons that can check it/beat it. However, I disagree with the last move being zen headbutt. Zen Headbutt doesn't actually cover that much for tini (fighting poison but v create is usually enough) and is a pretty weak move with the chance to miss. What I'd recommend over zenheadbutt is Blue Flare. This may seem like an odd choice because of double fire stab, but blue flare is extremely useful. Because it is a strong base fire stab, it allows you to spam it more reliably compared to v create which drops defenses and speed. Rocks + Blue Flare just destroys bug type completely which could be a difficult matchup.

Second thing is, I notice you get completely destroyed by lum bisharp. Now, most psychic teams generally do but if bish ever sets up on, say, hoopa's hyperspace and sets up, that's just game over. This is a pretty reliable way to beat bisharp if you play it correctly, so I'd change hoopa to the Steelbreaker set, consisting of Subsitute, Dark Pulse, Drain Punch, and HP Fire. Not only does it allow you to sub on a bisharp's sucker punch and ohko, it also does as the name implies, it breaks steel teams which usually threaten psychic a lot. HP Fire + Drain Punch + Dark Pulse creates virtually no switch ins for steel teams and pretty much guarantees a kill if brought in correctly.

Lastly, because your team is more of a Hyper Offensive team, I'd actually recommend Azelf > Mew. Azelf is an amazing lead for ho teams as it has an amazing base speed of 115 and access to rocks, taunt, and explosion, perfect for a suicide lead. Rocks to help vs the matchups like flying, bug, fire etc and just generally an amazing move. Taunt to prevent opposing hazards or set up and explosion to hit the opponent extremely hard and preventing a possible spin/defog because you make yourself faint. Azelf is just really nice and seems like it would fit an HO team like yours perfectly.

Well, that's what I have! Here are the sets:
Victini @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Bolt Strike
- Blue Flare
- U Turn
- V Create

Hoopa-Unbound @ Leftovers
Ability: Magician
EVs: 56 Atk / 200 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Substitute
- Drain Punch
- Dark Pulse
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Azelf @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Def
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Stealth Rocks
- Explosion
- Taunt
good luck!
