Pivot Raging Bolt (Dragon)
Raging Bolt @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 40 HP / 216 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 20 Atk
- Thunderclap
- Volt Switch
- Dragon Pulse
- Taunt

Set Description
Dragon's number one killer in my honest opinion is having amazing walls for their problems however if they allow hazards to become spammed they dont really have removal unless you use a defog noivern which isnt the most viable mon out there even if dragon has been proven to be able to suffice with just 5 on a team. I offer taunt pivot Raging Bolt. Bolt is bulky enough to run max speed to taunt not all rockers as i believe offensive hazard setters are more reliable to get one hazard up and deal some damage or swap but most spikers are defensive which is helpful and more reliable to get up the spikes which is more disastrous to dragon's much needed swaps. This help against hazard can help dragon's already much needed recovery from leftovers other than a healing wish from latias or recover from latios. Bolts taunt also offers blockage to set up sweepers who want more than two speed boosts to have a chance to or outright sweep (minus scale shot which i doubt will get more than two off before getting revenged by latias or moon unless its dd scale shot kyurem which is pretty uncommon). Lastly for this set i added ev's to Bolt's Health stat so it could take more seismic toss or night shades from Blissey or Sableye, you could also take ev's out from the speed stat if you wanted to hit harder and still outspeed most hazard setters like Archaludon.

Teammates
Archaludon and HGoodra are some of the best walls in the game and very much appreciate not taking chip from hazards when their only form of recovery is leftovers. Hex dragapult can more safely set up sub without fear of chipping itself too much. Specs latios can run another move over thunderbolt which can greatly improve its coverage for what dragon can face problems with such as shadow ball, surf, energy ball, or even throw on an earthquake for the possible heatran swap vs steel or fire which can switch in fairly easily come in on a lot of dragon's hard hitters. Kyurem who already takes 25% from rocks could swap in more often and deal more reliable ice beam damage. Roaring Moon could appreciate a second pivot on its side so its not swapping in more often if hazards we're to come anyway and you would appreciate it being healthier. Lastly a second pivot for dragon could truthfully help immensely swapping in their walls and adding to the mind games.

Disruption Tinkaton (Steel)
Tinkaton (F) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Pickpocket
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 16 SpD / 240 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Encore
- Gigaton Hammer
- Thunder Wave

Set Description
The utility that Tinkaton can offer steel is unparalled, Encore especially is a massive disrupter and can lead to very free switches which can facilitate setup, as well as shuting down opposing setup. Knock Off and Thunder Wave are generally good utility options and their use here allows for them to be dropped of teamates, they can be swapped out for Stealth Rocks for much the same purpose depending on what the rest of the team is running. Gigaton Hammer is the only offense Tinkaton needs, with it's high base power letting it deal respectable damage without any investment. The speed invesment is enough to outspeed max speed Loxik and Landorus-Therian, going max speed to tie other Tinkaton is an option, but i did not think this was worthwhile given how rare Tinkaton is in the current meta. Air Balloon allows for a one time immunity to super effective ground moves, and combined with pickpoket can allow for some free disruption of the opponents items.

Teammates
Tinkaton's disruption of opponents makes it an excellent partner for setup options, specifically Swords Dnace Scizor and Nasty plot Gholdengo, who especially enjoy opponents who have been slowed down by Thunder Wave. Heatran and one of Skarmory or Corvkinght can swithc into super effective fire and ground moves respectively. As the typical Steel team is quite limited for slots some compression is appriciated, for example a specially defensive Corviknight can stand in for the roles of ground immunity, hazard removal, and special wall, freeing up slots to take advantage of Tinkaton's disruptions.

Choice Band Okidogi (Poison)
Okidogi (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Toxic Chain
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly/Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Ice Punch
- Gunk Shot / High Horse Power / Psychic Fangs

Set Description
With a Choice Band Okidogi becomes an incredible breaker capable of demolishing the likes of Gliscor, Defensive Gholdengo, and Archaludon with no worries. Close Combat is the STAB of choice for breaking Steel- and Dark-types like the aforementioned Archaludon along with Bisharp and and Scizor. Knock Off decks Ghost- and Psychic-types like Sinistcha and Glowking. Ice Punch OHKOs Gliscor along with helping to remove Clodsire. Finally Gunk Shot keeps up pressure against Primarina and Hatterene. Alternatively, High Horsepower is a strong tool capable of removing most Poison-types once Weezing-G and Amoonguss have been dealt with easing up the mirror while Psychic Fangs helps more with the removal of Weezing-G and opposing Okidogis. The choice of nature comes down to wanting more speed as most of the base 80s run Adamant or more power such as Knock Off being a 75% chance to OHKO defensive TWave Gholdengos with Knock Off with Adamant compared to 25%

Teammates
Choice Band Okidogi is best paired with Galarian Slowking as they create a devasting Future Sight + Fighting combo that generally wins the Poison Mirror without many issues, espessically if Weezing-G can be removed early along with putting immense pressure onto bulkier Water teams. Choice Scarf Iron Moth can provide the nessicary speed control to help check foes like the Ogerpon variants and Tornadus-T. Amoonguss with Stun Spore can help by slowing down foes that would outpace Okidogi like Iron Treads, Roaring Moon, and Flutter Mane.

Bulky Wisp Darkrai (Dark):
Darkrai @ Leftovers / Heavy Duty Boots
Ability: Bad Dreams
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Def / 240 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse
- Focus Blast / Thunder / Ice Beam / Psychic

Set Description

Darkrai is incredible as an offensive disrupter similar to Pokemon such as Will-O-Wisp Dragapult. Darkrai already has extremely high spa so with this set we’re taking advantage of that and investing in its Bulk. With the HP investment it lives a play rough from meowscarada guaranteed as well as attacks such as body press from archaludon (even boosted) and Skarmory, while being incredibly annoying throwing off will o wisps and boosted dark pulses. Usually utilized as a lead, it can be really tough for types such as Dark/Dragon/Water/Steel/Normal/Flying to handle.

Teammates

Ideal teammates would be Pokemon that can deal with fighting/fairy types offensively such as scarf Play Rough Meow or Specs greninja with extrasensory as well as Pokemon that can break through special walls for it such as banded Meow and AV Hoopa U. Pokémon that can also help deal with fighting/fairy types defensively come to mind such as Mandibuzz to check Pokemon like Scarf Sneasler and garner momentum for it with U turn or Ting Lu/Alolan Muk to check Flutter Mane in a pinch. This set also really enjoys hazard support, So Pokemon like ting lu, and hisuian samurott are also welcome teammates.

The 2nd edition of the Monotype Rising Sets has come to an end. I would like to thank again the passionate builders who shared their sets and the voters who took the time to elect the Rising Set of the month!

Despite being neck-to-neck for almost the whole duration of the voting phase with the runner-up Pivot Raging Bolt (Dragon), Bulky Wisp Darkrai (Dark) emerges victorious with a short lead and thus win this event.

Congratulations to Wincon for winning this 2nd edition!

As promised, the set will be uploaded on SmogDex and be featured in the Monotype Room :) Wincon will also receive the roomprize rank ^.
