Monsoon Season ~ A Rain Dance RMT

Just some notes before we get to the team. First of all, this is not a metagame team; I will actually be raising these guys in the game, so I would prefer no Hidden Power or difficult to obtain Pokemon/moves (it's already going to be hard enough getting Manaphy--anywhere I can go for some details about how to get the best nature for him; as in the effects of trading the egg, when the nature/stats are decided, etc.). Second, I'm not overly competitive--I'm not too worried about countering every major OU threat, so as long as I don't have any huge glaring weaknesses to a particular Pokemon, I'm not too worried about that front. Finally, I haven't started the team yet, so please feel free to make any changes. So, without any further ado...

Ludicolo.png

LUDICOLO @ Leftovers/Damp Rock
(Calm)
Ability~Rain Dish
204HP/76SPA/230SPD
-Rain Dance
-Leech Seed
-Giga Drain/Ice Beam/Surf
-Giga Drain/Ice Beam/Surf

It’s not a standard set by any means, but it’s been surprisingly effective in the past. As long as he doesn’t face anything physical that hits particularly hard/super effective he can usually last for a very long time. The concerns I have now are which two types of attacks to use, and whether or not he makes an acceptable lead (I’m not sure who else would do it otherwise). Giga Drain will help with his longevity and can deal with other waters, Ice Beam takes care of most grass types who he is otherwise completely helpless against, and Surf is nice coverage with a rain boost.

Manaphy.png

MANAPHY @ Leftovers
(Timid)
Ability~Hydration
80 HP / 252 SpA / 176 Spe
-Tail Glow
-Rest
-Surf
-Grass Knot/Ice Beam

The other guy I’m considering as a lead. Pretty self explanatory, but due to his uber/suspect status, I have an potential replacement that will be listed later. Grass Knot/Ice Beam will be based on which Ludicolo has/doesn't have.

Bronzong.png

BRONZONG @ Leftovers/Light Clay
(Relaxed)
Ability~Levitate
252HP/230DEF/28SPD
-Gyro Ball
-Hypnosis
-Reflect
-Stealth Rocks

Rain takes care of his only weakness (fire), so he makes an excellent non-water type for the team. He pretty much supports the rest of the team with sleep, a defense boost, and stealth rocks. Leftovers provides some much needed healing for him (especially since I don’t plan on him exploding), but Light Clay will improve his supporting for the team. With essentially no super effective hits, is it worth giving him Leftovers?

WashRotom.png

WASH ROTOM @ Damp Rock/Leftovers
(Modest)
Ability~Levitate
252HP/6DEF/252SPE
-Rain Dance
-Thunder
-Hydro Pump
-Shadow Ball

Another rain maker and then a bulky sweeper. His unique typing and coverage provides some much needed support for the team. If Ludicolo goes with Damp Rock over Leftovers (since he does have enough healing otherwise, especially with Giga Drain), then Rotom gets Leftovers. I figure I don’t need two extended rain makers.

Kingdra.png

KINGDRA @ Leftovers
(Naughty)
Ability~Swift Swim
252ATK/238SPA/20SPE
-Waterfall
-Hydro Pump/Surf/Ice Beam
-Outrage
-Draco Meteor

With enough rain making on the team already, there’s no need for Kingdra to also dance, so I went with a completely mixed sweeper (plus I needed some more physical power). He has the same type coverage with either special or physical (which is all his movepool really allows for), unless I want Ice Beam over his special water (so he can hit other dragon, flying, and grass types harder). It might just be a matter of testing it out. Not sure about EVs, but I might boost his speed EVs a bit because I’m not going to focusing on IVs too much.

FrontSpritePM.png

TOXICROAK @ Life Orb
(Adamant)
Ability~Dry Skin
6HP/252ATK/252SPE
-Poison Jab
-Cross Chop
-Sucker Punch
-Rain Dance

I’m not sure if a third rain dancer is necessary, but he really likes rain support, so I threw it on there just in case. If it really isn’t necessary, I’d probably drop Rain Dance for Choice Band/Scarf and Stone Edge.

~ALTERNATIVE TEAM MEMBERS~

Obviously, some of these Pokemon aren’t going to be available in every battle (Manaphy is uber, Wash Rotom is not available on wifi/PBR), so here are some ideas I have on Pokemon to replace those two specifically (or anyone else, but those two would be the ones that actually needed replacing):

WAILORD @ Choice Scarf
(Modest)
Ability~Water Veil
6HP/252SPA/252SPE
-Water Spout
-Hydro Pump/Surf
-Ice Beam
-???

Replaces Manaphy. I do not have access to Selfdestruct, and I would prefer not to breed for Hidden Power, so I just need some sort of filler there. I was thinking Rest (might as well, and then bring him back in against something that won’t hit him very hard) or Sleep Talk. I would consider putting him as a lead, but I’d be afraid too many other common leads would outspeed him (I’m not sure what’s common, so I don’t know).

WASH ROTOM REPLACEMENT

No idea what to do here. I’m so annoyed that he can’t be used over wifi, especially since he’s such a major and unique part of my team. Any suggestions? Or would I have to completely rework the team to work without him? One idea I had was Electrode lead with Explosion, Thunder Dance, and Taunt/Light Screen/Thunder Wave/Protect (for scouting).

GYARADOS @ Leftovers
(Adamant)
Ability~Intimidate
212HP/18ATK/180DEF/100SPE
-Dragon Dance
-Waterfall
-Ice Fang
-Stone Edge

ELECTIVIRE @ Expert Belt
(Jolly)
Ability~Motor Drive
6HP/252ATK/252SPE
-Thunderpunch
-Ice Punch
-Cross Chop
-Earthquake

Gyarados-Electivire lure is, from what I’ve heard, hardly ever used anymore, so I’d hope it would be somewhat unexpected. These two could potentially replace Manaphy and Wash Rotom together, although I’d still lose the rain support. Gyarados would also make a better lead for the team.

My biggest concern right now is Blissey, because most of my team is special. Would Manaphy/Kingdra be able to handle her pretty well with their hard hits, or has she managed to get even more bulky? Thanks for checking out my team! Any and all suggestions will be much appreciated! I'm also in need of a good alternative to Wash Rotom, because right now the team is only going to be useable in wireless battles, and I would love to use it on PBR/wifi.
