MoPCross

I've been hearing about this heracross going around and I know it has something to do with a certain # of hp. What exactly is it? I don't know the actual set and ev's. Is it a SubSalac Heracross?

I hear it's just a Heracross that runs 104 HP or something like that. It probably is. I asked once on SQSA so I could do damage calcs on Marowak's Fire Punch against Hera. OHKO's either way. xD

EDIT: Stupid typos. >_>

All of these senior members, and their shameless advertisement. "ObiBliss", "MopCross". It sickens me. I want a Poke called "KamiTran". :P

IIRC, a set on the analysis runs 104 Hp...

Obi didn't start calling the blissey that, other people did. AFAIK, the only poke that Obi named after himself on that stall team was Celobi.

Which, I think we can all agree, is a sufficiently awesome name. MoPCross, however, sucks. If it were Garchmop, sure, I could see it.

Anyway, The set is just to activate its Salac after 3 Substitutes rather than 4, so you want to have your HP divisible by 4. It uses an HP IV of 30 because that brings its HP down to 300, and lets you still have max Attack and Speed.

Isn't there a rule against naming a set after you? I know ObiBliss wasn't picked by Obi, but MoPCross I'm not sure about.

On the 30 HP sets, why is it not named "Sub-Salac Cross" or some name that's actually descriptive?

In other news, CIMicham, CIMpoleon, and Chrachi are doing amazingly well and should be added to every analysis ever.

the premise in advance was sub 3 times, hopefully getting an SD in. on the 3rd sub you're at 25% hp (since you have hp/4) and both salac and swarm activated, allowing you to ouspeed almost everytihng and sweep with double stab MH. Rock slide had the best type coverage so it was chosen as the other attacing move. iirc mop originally ran jolly but i usually ran adamant for things like cune.

in D/P it would be pretty much
Heracross@Salac Berry
Trait: Swarm
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)/Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Stone Edge/Rock Slide
- Megahorn
- Swords Dance

It isn't as viable in DP since
choice scarf
tons of sandstorm which hella shortens his lifespan
SR/toxic spikes/spikes which hella shorten his lifespan.

this was one of my fave sets in adv. one of the highlights was almost sweeping mop himself with it except MH missed the 1st turn =((

thanks that was a really nice explanation that cleared things up for me

I've heard of Sub + Dance Heracross, though I didn't hear any names of it...

Hey, then why don't we have DragonTamer Walrien as DTRein or ColonelBat!?! (Not that the whole Crobat set was oh-so-creative, just saying).

you know what? i don't know why hera's so popular. admittedly, he's beenin a few of my teams too but he's never fast enough for the job. scarfed cross doesn't hit hard enough.

Damn, MoP, I hope you come up with a new Hitmontop set. MoPTop would be awesome.

It seems like in DP, that Heracross basically HAS to run Jolly because everything's way too fast, especially considering choice scarfers.

Lol, 295<299
295 doesnt hit any magic speed numbers, accept for an extremely uncommon 284 or 273.

Uh, Heracross CREATED this gen's "magic speed number" (404).

Medicham and Heracross this gen are in a difficult position of only having one good stat. Jolly Medicham is, IMO, the best bet right now, as Jolly lets you hit 410 or so with Scarf and ~420 or so Attack isn't anything to scoff at.

You missed the whole important detail which is why you want 25% HP and the answer is because it allows you to get a few hits in before Sandstream beats you up, unlike say Sub/Reversal.

Next time ask these kinds of things in the Simple Question thread or hey here's a novel idea: search the forum.
