Mostly offensive team, need help!

Hello, well I didn't play pokemon since a very long time (since silver), and now I have platinum. I want to go into some rather competitive battling, without being too serious to the point of using pokemons I hate.

So for now my team is something like this, I was hoping to get some input/ideas to improve my team.

94.png

Gengar @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
nature: Timid
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
-Shadow ball
-thunderbolt
-focus blast
-open spot

Great type coverage, immunity to normal, fighting and ground. His speed and high SpA can one shot a wide range of pokemons. I like him because he can cover up for others if they are defeated.

Scizor @Metal Coat/life orb
Ability: Technician
Nature: Adamant
EVs:252 ATK/100 DEF/158 SpD
-Bullet punch
-X-Scissor/Brick Break
-sword dance
-roost

Resist a whole lot of types, great defences and bullet punch can quickly become a nasty threat. Roost can be used without being afraid to be defeated because of the lost turn, unless the other pokemon has a fire atack. I took X-scissor to cover up for those who may resist bullet punch.

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability:Pressure
Nature:Timid
EVs:252SpA/252 Spe/4 HP
-Thunderbolt
-Heat wave
-roost
-open spot

Fairly resistant to atacks, can regenerate himself, takes care of gyarados and scizor.

130.png

Gyarados @ Life orb
Ability:Intimidate
Nature:Jolly
EVs:252 Atk/252 Spe/4HP
-Waterfall
-ice fang
-dragon dance
-earthquake (or stone edge?)

Cuts the enemy attacks, only 2 weaknesses, dragon dance makes him really fast. He also have a nice type coverage which is what I am mostly aiming for.

136.png

Flareon @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
Nature:Adamant
EVs:252 Atk/252 Spe/4 Def
-Fire fang
-Superpower
-Bite
-Return

Covers up for zapdos in situations he cannot charge in, gives a fighting and dark attack as well as being able to switch out without losing a turn.

Tentacruel @ Leftovers
Ability:Clear Body
Nature:Calm
EVs:252HP/120Def/136SpD
-Toxic spikes/spikes
-rapid spin
-ice beam
-surf

I want him for spikes (don't know which one to take yet) as well as spike removal, he is probably my most unsure choice behind flareon as he does not do much more then my gyarados (other then spikes), he does special dmg tho, which can be useful if gyarados have trouble piercing an armor.

about my zapdos: I rly have no idea what to do with him, I prefer offensive with heat wave, thunderbolt, roost and one last spot I don't know what to do. Is a defensive zapdos much better? Does it still do lots of dmg? I'm mostly wondering what nature/IV I should take

As far as other pokemons I have, there is Charizard, which could replace Flareon(Which I know is not that good), but may be a bit useless as my zapdos would have heat wave

I also have a jolly crobat with brave bird, but don't know if it can find other uses other then defeating lucario and etc.

Would cloyster be a better choice instead of tentacruel? Both can learn the same abilities, but cloyster get STAB on icebeam which is nice a bonus, but cloyster is destroyed by special atacks...

I also have an alakazam, but I usually prefer gengar.

Any tips and ideas? hehe.

Post the exact EVs of your Pokemon please, so that it's easier to rate it. Although I will have to say one thing, Flareon's pretty useless, as it's SR weak and got a lot of weaknesses.

as Ybbob said, post exact EV's... also use this format:

[pic of poke]
poke @ item
ability
nature
EVs
move

Description

^this really makes it easier on raters. also, might wanna fix up those descriptions and finish your movesets or this may be able to get locked.

for a but of an actual rate:
Scizor wants Brick Break/Superpower > X-Scossor as a secondary attack to hit things that resist BP.

i lol'd @ Flareon in OU >.<. try Infernape or something here

I edited the post the best I could.

The thing is my main problem is that I don't know what's the best things and all. The first 4 of the list are pretty those which I want to keep, the 2 others (as well as those mentioned after) are those I mostly wonder what to do with.

Is SR really a must over spikes? If so would a Tyrannitar bring a lot to my present team if switched with tentacruel?
