Motor Drive Wi-Fi Team

I just recently got a Lonely Elekid with Ice Punch, and I thought to form a Wi-Fi team centered on Electivire. I didn't place Hidden Powers because of the extra breeding, but if they're strongly suggested, I can make an effort to get them. Well, here's my team:

Rotom @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Will-o-wisp
- Thunder Wave
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
This Rotom is sort of a surprise, it can cause status before the opponent gets a hit, hopefully saving it from the first hit with paralysis. If he survives the turn, I retreat to burn/paralyze another day, helped by his immunities. Shadow Ball and Thunderbolt so it can deal decent damage when needed.
---
Donphan (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP/6 Atk/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Shard
Rapid Spinner and Stealth Rock set-up. Ice Shard lets me get the drop on Dragons, Earthquake for STAB. Sadly, he doesn't attract Electric-types to hit him.
---
Dragonite (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 HP/96 Def/104 Spd/58 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Heal Bell
- Thunder Wave
- Roost
- Dragon Claw
Cleric. Can cause paralysis and some STAB damage with Dragon Claw. Doesn't draw in Electric either, and shares Ice weakness with Donphan, Grass resistance is helpful though.
---
Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP/96 Atk/156 Def/6 Spd
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Drill Peck
- Spikes
- Roost
- Whirlwind

Physical tank, and able to deal some more residual damage with Spikes. A fairly safe switch-in to most physical attacks, while healing the damage with Roost and phazing with Whirlwind, at the same time causing damage with Spikes+Stealth Rock. Draws in Fire-type moves, as well as Electric.
---
Empoleon (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/6 Spd
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Surf
- Sleep Talk
- Rest
- Ice Beam

Have to have a bulky Water ^^ This guy has some good resistances and a good switch in to the types Donphan and Dragonite are weak against. Rest+Sleep Talk for survival, as well as lets it take a Sleep move for my team. Surf for STAB and Ice Beam for Dragons. Might draw in Earthquake and Fighting moves, but also Electric.
---
Electivire (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Motor Drive
EVs: 252 Atk/176 Spd/82 SAtk
Lonely nature (+Atk, -Def)
- Low Kick
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
The star of the show! Hopefully it doesn't take turns of prediction to take this guy out on an Electric-type move. My Elekid right now has Cross Chop, and I lean toward accuracy vs. power, but Low Kick's variable power might turn me off. Holding that decision off till the very end.

Whoa, don't you think you have a conflicting status problem here? Thunder Wave and Will-O-Wisp on your starter, trying to inflict as much shit as you can, and then setting Toxic Spikes? Let's not go there.

I'd rather ditch the Tentacruel completely then. With Rotom, Donphan, Dragonite, Empoleon, Electivire, you're going to be annoyed switching into a Weavile. I'd just go for a straight up Skarmory then. This way you're getting SR+Spikes, but then you also have a solid Banded Garchomp counter for sure, as well as any Sub-version. And just WW out the anything else while taking like 54~% from Garchomp's SD FF. It's also useful for Mamoswine, who can be really annoying.

And for the Empoleon, I think you're better off with an actual tanking set perhaps. Something like Rest/Sleep Talk with 2 special moves or something. Or have it Roar with 3 special moves.

Ah, thank you for that. I always overlook when I overload with status when I form a team.

Looking over the team again, I did realize that my Waters and Electivire were all weak to Earthquake, and the prevalence of Garchomp would be troublesome for me. Skarmory would be perfect because of physical defense, and I've had experience with it so it helps me use it well.

And for the Empoleon, I think you're better off with an actual tanking set perhaps. Something like Rest/Sleep Talk with 2 special moves or something. Or have it Roar with 3 special moves.
Probably true, I think Empoleon's moveset detracts from the purpose of switching in Electivire; it tries to deal damage on its own. I suppose it would do fine as a bit of a special wall...I'll go edit the first post once I straighten it out. Thanks.
