[OVERVIEW]

Wo-Chien excellent bulk and great ability gives it a unique place in NU. Tablets of Ruin allows Wo-Chien to consistently handle powerful wallbreakers such as Basculegion-M, Flygon, and Cinccino. Additionally, it can also break common passive walls like Gastrodon, Bronzong, and Galarian Slowbro. Wo-Chien best fits on both balance and stall teams due to helping them overwhelm Pokemon like Flygon, Drednaw, and Alolan Muk. Unfortunately, Wo-Chien awful typing makes it weak to many common threats such as Flamigo and Chandelure while the Pokemon it was supposed to check like Flygon and Munkidori can threaten Wo-Chien by hitting back with U-turn. Wo-Chien struggles to breakthrough walls like Amoonguss and Tsareena due to them being immune to its Leech Seed and access to reliable recovery.

[SET COMMENTS]
Set Details
====

Knock Off threatens Pokemon that rely on their items like Porygon2, Kilowattrel, and Bronzong. Foul Play gives Wo-Chien a great advantage against physical wallbreakers like Drednaw and Basculegion-M while Ruination can be used for solid chip damage. Protect allows it to scout out any Choice-item users like Flamigo and Chandelure while giving it extra leftovers recovery. Wo-Chien can run a RestTalk set letting it consistently handle foes like Drednaw, Flygon, and Cinccino as well as dealing with any status attempts. Leech Seed can worn down foes such as Copperajah and Alolan Muk, but Taunt allows Wo-Chien to cripple defensive walls like Vaporeon and Avalugg. Leftovers provides Wo-Chien extra recovery, whereas Heavy-Duty Boots allows it to not be worn down by repeatedly switching into hazards. Tera Poison offers Wo-Chien a better resistance against both Fighting- and Poison-types like Flamingo, Toxicroak, and Alolan Muk. Tera Ghost gives it a useful immunity against Fighting-types like Infernape and Paldean Tauros-W while Tera Fairy offers a Fighting-type resistance with a trade off for better handling foes like Flygon, Heracross, and Incineroar. Alternatively, Tera Dragon lets Wo-Chien better handle Fire-types such as Chandelure, Infernape, and Arcanine.

Fairy- and Water-types like Scream Tail, Sylveon, and Basculegion-M can help it better handle Fighting- and Fire-types such as Scrafty and Arcanine. Wo-Chien best partners with defensive teammates such as Bellibolt, Gastrodon, and Galarian Slowbro since they can better handle threats like Flamigo, Arcanine, and Toxicroak. Pokemon like Toxtricity, Basculegion-M, and Kilowattrel appreciate its Knock Off for threatening opponents that heavily rely on their item like Porygon2, Gastrodon, and Klefki. Additionally, Wo-Chien struggles to breakthrough common walls like Amoonguss and Goodra thus it pairs with teammates like Kilowattrel, Heracross, and Diancie to break them. Hazard removers like Altaria and Tentacruel are crucial for helping Wo-Chien to better switch in against Pokemon like Basculegion-M without getting worn down by hazards.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
====

Stun Spore can be used for slowing down faster foes like Munkidori and Inteleon but it prefers to run other utility options. Body Press lets Wo-Chien better handle Steel-types like Copperajah and Duraludon. Power Whip allows it to threaten Water-types like Swampert and Vaporeon. Wo-Chien can run a fully physically defensive spread letting it better handle foes like Flygon and Basculegion-M; however, it makes Wo-Chien worse against threats like Inteleon and Amoonguss. Tera Water maintains the Water-type resistance while gives it a better matchup against Fire- and Ice-types like Paldean Tauros-F and Alolan Ninetales but gives it a weakness to Electric- and Grass-type weakness.

Checks and Counters
====

**Fighting-types**: Toxicroak, Flamigo, Infernape, and the Paldean Tauros easily destroy Wo-Chien with their Fighting-type attacks, but they must be cautious about switching into Leech Seed and Ruination.

**Fire-types**: Chandelure, Arcanine, and Rotom-H can do major damage against Wo-Chien with their Fire-type attacks and the latter two can use it as setup fodder. However, none of them enjoy switching into its Knock Off, Leech Seed, and Ruination.

**Wallbreakers and Setup sweepers**: Powerful attackers like Inteleon, Kilowattrel, and Munkidori can put pressure on it with their attacks but they must be worried about switching into Knock Off. setup sweepers like Swords Dance Flamigo, Dragon Dance Flygon, Shell Smash Drednaw, and Meteor Beam Diancie can put a lot of pressure on Wo-Chien; however, the former three get demolished by Foul Play while Diancie can get overwhelmed by Ruination and Leech Seed.

**Fairy- and Poison-types**: Sylveon, Alolan Ninetales, and Diancie can overwhelm Wo-Chien with their attacks, but they need to cautious about switching into Leech Seed and Knock Off. Poison-types such as Galarian Slowbro, Alolan Muk, and Overqwil can all threaten Wo-Chien with status while the latter two can tank its STAB attacks; however, all of them can’t repeatedly switch into Leech Seed and Ruination.

**Amoonguss**: Amoonguss completely walls Wo-Chien thanks to its access to Synthesis and Regenerator allows Amoonguss to repeatedly switch in against Wo-Chien giving it the advantage to threaten Wo-Chien with Toxic or Sludge Bomb poison. However, Amoonguss can get worn down by hazards making it a bit worse by repeatedly switching into Wo-Chien’s attacks.
