SM OU MSwampert rain team

Hello trainers! this is my first RMT post and I have a rain team with mega Swampert. so please feel free to change anything necessary. Here is the team:

download.jpg

Swampert (M) @ Swampertite
Ability: Damp
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Superpower

My main sweeper. with dual stab, ice punch for grass types, and superpower for ferrothorn. with max speed to outspeed everything and max attack EVs

download.png

Pelipper (M) @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
- Hurricane
- Scald
- U-turn
- Defog

No ou rain team without pelipper amiright?. max bulk to sponge an attack and u turn out to swampert or another pokemon. dual stab. and i chose defog over roost because theres no other hazard remover in the team.

download (1).jpg

Landorus-Therian @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Fly
- Gravity
- Stealth Rock

the rock setter and the grass remover. in order for swampert to sweep, grass types need to be removed, so i ran a z-fly set. also gravity to prevent mind games and to hit celesteela, either with landorus or even MSwampert.

download (1).png

Kingdra @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Rain Dance

my second rain sweeper and setter. kingdra has decent bulk so i thought it would be perfect for the role of a rain setter. and with swift swim he can sweep with his own, holding a life orb to hit hard and not be locked (by choice specs)

download (2).png

Tapu Koko @ Choice Specs
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunder
- Dazzling Gleam
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Volt Switch

if the rain is up, koko can destroy things with terrain boosted-thunder. dazzling gleam for stab, volt for momentum, and I originally ran hp water because it gets boosted by rain, however i changed it to ice because i already have water types and it wouldnt really help against koko's threats.

download (3).png

Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Spikes
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip
- Leech Seed

my spike setter and the fairy killer. with bulk investments to set up as much as possible, duel stabs, and leech seed and leftovers to regain health, also leech seed is kinda good against non-grass non-magic guard walls.

THREATS AND COUNTERS
zygarde can easily set up on ferrothorn.
hawlucha can do the same.
weather wars.
predictions with my choiced koko (for example switches to ground types).
and maybe more..

And thats all for my team. if you have any improvements please tell me. thanks!

Hey dude, nice team. It seems like standard rain for the most part. Although there are a few sets I would change to hopefully make the team better.

Major Change

701.png> 645-s.png[optional]: Firstly I wanted to bring up Hawlucha who is more commonly used on rain to take advantage of the Electric Terrain from Tapu Koko. Things that give Hawlucha trouble (Zapdos, Clefable etc.) are usually pressured by both Kingdra and Swampert making it a great late-game sweeper. But it's up to you which flying type you use.

Minor Changes

260-m.pngAdamant > Jolly: With Swift Swim, Swampert already outspeeds the majority of the meta under the rain. So using an Adamant nature for the power boost is usually better, it allows you to 2HKO Venusaur after rocks with Earthquake and 2HKO Bulu with Ice Punch both of which are annoying for rain to deal with.

279.pngRoost > Hurricane: Defensive Pelipper should run Roost to stay healthy and keep rain up for longer. You still keep Defog but have to give up one of your STABs. Scald is usually more useful since it can potentially burn things like Ferrothorn and Toxapex.

230.pngchoicespecs.png> lifeorb.png| Hydro Pump > Rain Dance: It isn't really needed to have another rain setter when you have Damp Rock Pelipper, so I'm replacing Rain Dance with Hydro Pump which is extremely strong in rain. Choice Specs is the better item to make sure you hit as hard as possible, allowing you to potentially 2HKO even AV Magearna and AV Tangrowth (with Hydro Pump and Ice Beam respectively). I also changed the nature to Modest (not exactly sure why you had it as Naive).

785.pngelectriumz.png >choicespecs.png: If you chose to use Hawlucha over Landorus then you can make Tapu Koko Electrium Z. This set isn't as prediction reliant as Specs, so you don't always have to be as careful with what move you click. Z-Thunder can suprise KO things like Clefable, Mew and Zapdos, all of which are annoying for Hawlucha.

598.pngStealth Rock > Gyro Ball: If you remove Landorus you also need a stealth Rock setter, something which Ferrothorn is good at, especially in rain where not much can KO it. Losing Gyro Ball shouldn't hurt too much since most fairy types won't beat you anyway.

Hopefully the new team works better overall, good luck :]

Hey dude! Good team, standar rain, but It still a great archetype, however, I can see a glaring flaw about this team and changes that DKM proposed before and is the inability to break stall, Z-Thunder Koko doesn't help at all, so I'm gonna make the following change based in his rate, since you like them. (Hope he won't be angry :c ).

785.png
Z - Thunder --> Z - Wild Charge
With this set, you can lure in Chansey, AV Magearna and other stuff, KOing Chansey with the regular Wild Charge + Gigavolt Havoc, which is huge for you Kingdra. Also, it gives you Taunt support, which comes in handy against stall builds.

Optional

112880-20357052c3933028d25633ecc568e527.jpg
Superpower --> Stealth Rock

Since you have Hawlucha, you don't need Superpower at all to deal with Ferrothorn, since Hawlucha can setup on it, or scare it away because of the threat of HJK. With this, you'll be able to setup rocks against stall, because M-Sableye gonna be 2HKOed by Waterfall in rain, and with Taunt with Koko, you should be able to keep them up.

598.png
Stealth Rock --> Spikes
As now, you have M-Swampert as rocker, Ferrothorn can run Spikes in order to wear down even more the opposite team, this also comes in with the add of Knock Off or Gyro Ball into this moveset, I'll add Knock Off into the moveset, but you can run Gyro Ball if you want.

Hope this changes will be useful and you like them. Good luck!

Hello and welcome! And yeah while battling I noticed that its not very well at stall. And while that physical koko fix it, it doesn’t have anything to do with rain, at the same time it doesn’t need to.
Gonna try the changes I think they’re worth it. Thanks.

Yeah, I know Koko doesn't benefit from rain, however, rain as an archetype, benefits a lot from physical Koko support, that's the reason why I suggest it for your team :)
Good luck, and your welcome.

gonna have to suggest replacing kingdra tbh, kingdra isnt great on rain as ash gren outclasses it due to coverage and its sheer power with specs hydros under rain. it also has utility in water shruiken, allowing it to ohko koko if e seed if rain is up and ur transformed, as well as pick up the kill on weakened stuff. i personally run d pulse, hydro pump, ibeam/spikes and water shruiken.

ill also suggest keeping superpower on m swamp, as its nice not to have to mess around with lucha being ur only way 2 beat ferrothorn
