Mummy Ability Not Working on G-Max Mon?

Im trying to find a good counter to Cinderace and one of the mons that came to mind is Cofagrigus due to its high defense, and ability Mummy to get rid of Libero. In theory this sounds perfect however in testing I couldnt get Mummy to activate on G-Max Cinderace when I got attcked and when I dealt pysical damage with Body Press. The only other mon on their side was Clefairy and I was running Cof and Conkeldurr. Any idea if Mummy activates on g-max or if it HAS to be normal?

Heres the specs for my Cofigrigus:

EVs: 252 HP / 152 Def / 104 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Body Press
- Hex
- Will-O-Wisp
- Protect

Mummy only works if Cinderace makes contact during its attack (much like rocky helmet damage). There is no max move or Gmax move in the game that is contact move, so it makes sense that it wouldn't work on a Gmax Pokemon let alone Dynamax Pokemon.

Damn well that is really disappointing. Back to the drawing board I guess haha
