Hey guys,this is my 1st UU team and I would like to see how I could improve it.As you can see in the title,this team focuses on using VoltTurn to gain momentum.The format of my team is:
-Physical Sweeper/U-Turn(Crobat)
-Physical Setup Sweeper(Absol)
-Special Attacker(Rotom)
-Special Attacker/Suicide Lead(Azlef)
-Physical Wall(Chesnaught)
-Special Wall(Tentacruel)
Crobat @ Choice Band
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- U-turn
- Cross Poison
- Super Fang
Crobat is one half of VoltTurn,the choice band is to hit harder because Crobat's base 90 attack stat is rather dissapointing.Brave Bird is the main STAB move on this set,hitting many pokemon hard.U-Turn is for VoltTurn and to switch out against dangerous threats,Cross Poison is a secondary STAB move for anything that resists Brave Bird,and Super Fang is to break walls by effectively halving their health.
Rotom-Heat @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Overheat
- Trick
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Grass]
Rotom is the other half of VoltTurn,the speed EVs allow it to outspeed most Pokemon,and the timid nature is for more power.Overheat is the only STAB Fire move that Rotom gets (aside from HIdden Power),Trick is to cripple walls that Rotom has trouble with,Volt switch is for VoltTurn,and HP grass is to hit Quagsire(which f**ks with Rotom).
Absol @ Absolite
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk
Hasty Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance
- Play Rough
- Fire Blast
Absol is my main sweeper,the special attack EVS are for Fire Blast(which is used to hit physical walls),Swords Dance boosts Absol's attack to godly levels,Play Rough is for the occasional Fighting-Type/Dark Type,and Sucker Punch destroys anything that doesn't resist it.
Azelf @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 Atk
Hasty Nature
- Explosion
- Stealth Rock
- Flamethrower
- Psychic
Azlef is usually my lead,the Sash ensures that I can get up Stealth Rock,the Explosion is to go out with a bang,Psychic is Azlef's best STAB,Flamethrower is to hit the Steel types that resist Psychic,and the EVS make sure Azlef gets a lot of kills before fainting.
Chesnaught @ Leftovers
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Impish Nature
- Spiky Shield
- Seed Bomb
- Synthesis
- Hammer Arm
Chesnaught is a great physical wall in UU(252+ Atk Arcanine Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Chesnaught: 240-284 (63.1 - 74.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery),the bulletproof ability is to protect against most moves like Sludge Bomb,Spiky shield is essentially a better Protect,
Seed Bomb and Hammer Arm are for STAB,and Synthesis is for recovery.The leftovers are there because the passive recovery can be valuable throughout the game.
Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 4 Def / 252 HP / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature
- Toxic
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Protect
And finally the Tentacruel.My amazing Special wall,the black sludge is to cripple Trick users,Liquid Ooze is so that stuff that leech Tentacruel's health will get a nasty surprise,Toxic is to cripple the opposing team and Fire types that can't be burned,Rapid spin is mainly for Stealth Rock seeing how some of my Pokemon are weak to Stealth Rock,Scald is the best defensive STAB for Tentacruel(dat 30% chance to burn),and Protect for Toxic/Burn stalling.
