My Attempt at Drizzle

~My Rain Team~

So this my second time trying to create a weather team i decided to go with rain because of its popularity among weather i had a couple of new ideas for stalls let me know what you think.

Politoed
186.png

<Drizzle-Bold
+Wide lens~252 def/ 252 hp/ 4 spatk
-Hypnosis
-Scald
-Focus Blast
-Perish Song

Of course with every drizzle team you need Politoed this I want to work to shut down any other weather Pokémon focus blast is for Tyranitar and hypnosis scald for nine tales and Hippodown. I max out hp and def eV’s so he can survive longer .. Perish Song is on their just mess with people definitely the most replaceable move on this set.

Toxicroak
454.png

<Dry skin-Adamant
+Leftovers~252 atk/ 252 hp/ 4 speed
-Sucker Punch
-Bulk up
-Drain Punch
-Substitue

I decided to go on the bulkier side with ev's for this poke because of the lack of defenses. This set is practically the same things you see on conkledurrs just allot more healing and a priority move that better suits Toxicroak. It’s Ideal to get this guy out during rain but he still works pretty fine without (as long as it’s not sunny) I used leftovers because just like dry skin it will be the gift that keeps on giving.

Tentacruel
73.png

<Liquid Ooze-Bold
+Leftovers~252 hp/152 def/104 speed
-Rapid spin
-Toxic spike
-Scald
-Ice Beam

Instead of stalling as had planned before i went with a support Tentacruel. Spin away any entry hazards and set my own is the plan. Scald with a chance of burn adds to the fun and liquid ooze destroys any subseeder. Ice beam is their for a check on dragons.Bold Nature and DEF EV'S are their to cover for the def he doesn't have.

Zapdos

145.png

<Lightning rod
-Thunder
-Volt switch
-Hidden power (ice)
-Hyper Beam??????

I wanted to use thunder’s accuracy in rain, so I thought up this guy I used him because of his ability. Lightning makes so he can switch in on an electric move which my Politoed will be seeing a lot of boost spatk switch back out with volt switch. Speed and spatk were my choice eV’s for obvious reasons. I am a little disappointed with using hyper beam i would like another move that could hit hard.I'm thinking about changing the EV's to make him more durable Is this a good Idea????

Starmie
121.png

<Natural Cure-Timid
+Life Orb~4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
-Hydro Pump
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
-Recover

After hearing that my first plan of my accelgor hydrest is as effective as I made it out to be I went after some sort of speedy water type to abuse Hydropump..I did some research and learned of this guy he's pretty awesome with the boltbeam combo, status absorber, and hydro pump abuser capabilities i went with stats straight from his analysis seeing nothing wrong with him.

Scizor
212.png

<Technician-Adamant
+Choice Band~252 atk/ 248 hp/ 8 speed
-U-turn
-Bullet Punch
-Super power
-Pursuit

Scizor compliments this team perfectly. Destroying any random hail team i run into and also being able to switch in on just about anything than switching back out with a crazily powered up u-turn. This guy also gets the benefit of having fire weakened due to rain.Plus double scouting with zapdos= loads of fun.

So thats what i've come up with please let me know what you think like on a scale of 1 to 10 10 being the best or maybe possible counters to this team that i should worry about. Any help at all would be appreciatted.

First and foremost, you're missing natures on all your Pokes. Second, you tell us counters after testing the team, not the other way around.

It sounds like you are thinking that HydraRest lets you get multiple uses out of Accelgor's Focus Sash, but you can't. Unlike Sturdy, once Focus Sash activates, it's gone for good. So while HydraRest is an acceptable strategy on Accelgor, I'd think the idea is to use it to heal off Life Orb damage, with Recover being a safer (if Rain isn't up) choice.

Wide Lens makes a miniscule difference in the long run, so you should switch it out (but more on that later).

While Big Root sounds good on Toxicroak, it's almost guaranteed to give you less health in the long run than Leftovers.

Tentacruel shouldn't use Black Sludge unless you are playing with the Item Clause on - if they Trick it off of you, they can just re-trick it on to Politoed (or whatever) later. Just use Leftovers, they can't come back to bite you later. Also, it seems a little wrong to not be using Toxic Spikes on a defensive set.

Magnet on Jolteon seems like a poor choice, and you could get away with Choice Specs if you dropped Thunder Wave for Hidden Power Ice.

Your Politoed needs to make up it's mind whether it wants to be the offensive or defensive set. If it's one of the offensive sets, drop the HP for SpA and use one of the (non-Band, obviously) Choice Items (I'd suggest swapping out Hypnosis and Perish Song for Ice Beam and Hidden Power Grass if you go that route). The defensive set shouldn't bother with Speed (go Defense instead) and should run Scald instead of Hydro Pump (and use Leftovers).

I'd also probably drop something on Accelgor for U-Turn (either Spikes or Rest, in my opinion depending on whether you go Life Orb or Focus Sash, respectively). It lets you scout for switch-ins, which should not be underestimated in its usefulness. Alternately, you can use that slot for more coverage, running something like Hidden Power Ice or Giga Drain.

As for the actual team composition, the biggest immediate flaw I see is that you have no way of dealing with Garchomp outside of hoping you outspeed and eventually KO him before he tears through your team too badly. Also, Tentacruel is the only Pokemon on the team really built for stalling, so I'm hesitant to call this a stall team.

At risk of sounding rude, I think the analysis subforum might help you out. You can find it here, with a sorted index here. Your team seems a little haphazard overall, so a little guidance outside of this thread might help you. While the analysis don't need to be followed exactly, they will give you at least a good starting point.

I see that you plan on abusing focus sash/rest/hydration on your Accelgor, problem is that focus sash only activates once, so after that you can be OHKO'd since he has sub-par defenses, so that is why he isnt common on rain teams.

You seem to be rather..... new. Id recommend checking out battling 101 (http://www.smogon.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=42) to see what works and what doesnt.

In regards to your team, you are VERY earthquake weak. You dont have any resistances and THREE weaknesses. A garchomp or landorus could easily wreck you. You will obviously have to make some adjustments and just adding one resistance probably wont do it for such a common attacking type.

I would start with replacing your jolteon with zapdos.
It has a very similar ability and can abuse 100% accurate thunder. Zapdos is also much more versatile and bulky.

Again, your team is very conflicting and really think you should go to battling 101 to get a better understanding on team building and the different types of teams.

On Jolteon I may prefer Signal Beam for the 4x Super Effective damage on Celebi, while still hitting Latias/Latios and Tyranitar for Super Effective. I'd probably also go with HP Ice > Thunder Wave to deal with the oh-so-common Gliscors, Landorus, and especially Garchomp. I initially wanted to suggest HP Grass for Quagsire, but with Toxic Spikes, Quagsire's duration would be limited. I personally feel that Life Orb / Expert Belt would be more fitting on Jolteon, providing it the flexibility it needs to clean up. You do not want Jolteon committed to an Electric move with so many threatening Ground Types of this gen. I'd put Specs on Starmie before Jolteon.

CScarf Politoed is pretty popular, and for good reason. It provides a solid check against Sand Team Sweepers, such as Garchomp, Landorus, and Excadrill. It also packs a punch from its Drizzle. Hydro Pump, Surf, Ice Beam, Hypnosis is what I hear people using.

I also feel Starmie and Jolteon to be rather redundant. They are both frail one-dimensional Special Sweepers. You can certainly keep Starmie, since its speed is very useful this gen, and it is a monster with Rain Support. However, not having a single Ground resistance is troubling. Gyarados, Dragonite, Tornados, and Thundurus all seem like viable replacement over Starmie. Gyarados can significantly beef up your team's Physical Defense thanks to Intimidate support. It can also have Taunt to keep the momentum, if you wish. Dragonite and Tornados can both abuse Hurricanes and Fighting moves to break walls. Doubling up on Electric monster with Thundurus can effectively "overload" the opponent's Electric counters. I would probably go with Dragonite for the extra Celebi coverage, overall bulk, Extremespeed, and versatile offense.

Hex and Venom Shock is a common move on Tentacruel > Ice Beam to hit Jellicents that switch in to block Rapid Spin. With Toxic Spikes and Scald's Burn Chance, their strengths are doubled. Usually Hex is the superior option, but the power difference is rather negligible. Venom Shock would hit Celebi much harder, though (pretty sure even the bulkiest Celebi would be 2HKOed).

after u download PO, try NOT using Twave on a choice poke. It might actually get you a KO. Try HP ice like pocket suggested

Also, if you're going to be using SpecsJolt, you should run a Timid nature, since it's a shame not to capitalize on Jolteon's best trait: it's blistering Speed.

I like it, but I think having Tentacruel and Starmie is a bit redundant. If you got rid of one of them, you could have more space to try out different things. Specially Defensive Jirachi for example, can take Draco Meteors (which is good because Scizor doesnt have Wish), beat the genies and provide wish support.

Also run Choice Specs Politoed, it's the best mon ever.
