ORAS OU My attempt at Hyper offence

Helly my name is Juridisch Advies (dutch for legal counsel),
This is my First RMT in the OU part of the forums but, I'm not and inexperienced player since I got into OU a couple of months ago and played a lot of games during that time. Climbing the ladder with other people's teams and trying different tiers (UU,NU) was fun but I never built my own team. I delved into playing styles lately and I found the Hyper offense is really interesting to play around with. After using various teams based around mega loppunny (with decent success) I still wanted to build my very own team. So I decided to start building an HO offense.
The band is on the rise, winning 10-0 against 1400+ opponents which is a great accomplishment for me.

The star of the show
gyarados-mega.gif

The king of OU is back again, using his tiny mouth to produce the best sounds of his time. Crunching up opponents, shaking the ground underneaths its audience's feet, turning on the sprinklers and topping it off with a beautiful dancing performance.
I really like Mega Gyarados for its Good attack stat, Decent speed boosted by DD and strong stab/coverage moves. Intimidate over Moxie to force switches and get a free DD up and then proceed to sweep.

Gyarados @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Dragon dance

The roadie
infernape.gif

No star can life without a decent support cast and this monkey is one the best.
I was looking for a fast SR Pokemon who also packs a punch(literally) and then I found my underused friend, Infernape. He can hit really hard with his Stab attacks and use encore to cripple other stealth rock users, He can live an attack and retaliate with CC or overheat.
I chose him over other conventional suicide leads because he can deal with chansey and ferro really well and even cripple other leads/walls with an encore.

Infernape @ Focus Sash
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 168 Atk / 88 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Overheat
- Stealth Rock
- Close Combat
- Encore

The guitarist
serperior.gif

Serperior over here can play the guitar like Jimi Hendrix did during his time. It is contrary time for this snake and that brings a lot of guitar solos along with it. Serperior is a really good fit with Gyardos because he can take an electric type attack force out the opponent and it gets to +2 in one turn. Glare is for fast incoming threats , hidden power fire for bulky steel types and dragon pulse for lack of other good moves. Leaf storm is mandatory on this pokemon 'cause it can't function without it.

Serperior @ Life Orb
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Glare
- Hidden Power [Fire]

The drummer
gengar-3.gif

This monster really brings the drums. LO gengar is nothing to laugh at since it drops fairy bodies on the floor. Due to taunt being added it can break trough a lot of walls without a hassle. The only thing it hasn't going for itself is focus miss. Sludge wave and shadow ball are here for stab and it's typing blocks rapid spin as well which can be a vital asset for the course of the game. I chose timid nature because it's always better to outspeed and kill then take a hit.

Gengar @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Sludge Wave
- Taunt

Backing vocalists
thundurus-therian.gif
landorus-therian.gif

Two choice scarfers to revenge kill many OU Pokemon. They also catch many players off guard because the wear that fabulous band scarf.
It also forms a formidable volt-turn core and they can create a lot of initiative for the rest of my team.

Thundurus can absorb electric attacks aimed at the star of the show and can use its decent move pool to wreck havoc. Flash cannon is for the overly used fairy type and HP ice for dragon and ground/flying pokes in the tier. The therian form packs a punch with 145 base SPA so I chose it over the prankster set.

Thundurus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch

Landorus is always useful on any team. It's decent synergy with the shrimp is commonly known because they knew each other from when they were a little shrimp/genie beating up the entire day care staff. Super power is good against those bulky types in the tier. U-turn for initiative and the rest to give decent coverage late game.

Landorus-Therian @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 212 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Superpower / Knock Off
- Stone Edge
- U-Turn

I really hope you like this team and feedback is always welcome!

Hi there! Thanks for sharing your team. Given the hyper offense nature of your build I'm not sure you will be concerned about this, but I noticed that you have a Focus Sash user and no way to get rid of hazards. You also have three 'mons weak to rocks (counting the shrimp before mega-ing) and given Gengar is holding a Life Orb not Sludge, I don't think it will appreciate the chip damage either. Come to think of it you have absolutely zero recovery on this team. I realize that your are probably leading with Infernape as a suicide lead, and running a more offensive build in general so this may not concern you but I found it worth mentioning.
Also might I suggest adding a list of threats that you found during testing? Just eyeballing the tier BD Azu looks like it could pose a threat as it OHKOs Thund, Land, and Infern, and can live a hit from Gyarados at full. It also seems like it might find a chance to set up since you do have to scarfers. Personally I also reccomend Knock Off over Stone Edge on Landorus. Knock Off means you can actually kill the Latias from full and while it hits Talonflame and Charizard you do have Thund, Gyarados, and Sash Ape. I'm curious why you're running Flash Cannon on Thund, after doing some calcs it seems like it only 2HKOs most Fairies in the tier. With a scarf I can only assume you are running it for M-Diance after a RP but you do also have Scraf Land. It seems especially strange to me since you do have Gengar. I also have to question Glare on Serp since I'm assuming it's for fast or Scarfed Ground types like Garchomp or Land who you already outspeed with Scarf Thund.
Anyway these are just some thoughts at a glance I hope the rest of your rate goes well.

Hi there juridisch-advies. I'm just gonna add a few things atm because I don't have much time to write this. First on adding to what this guy added, I do not suggest adding Knock Off over Stone Edge. I suggest adding Knock Off over Superpower. Superpower has good Fighting coverage but it isn't very good to be locked into because it lowers your stats every time and Stone Edge is necessary because Landorus needs Rock coverage. Knock Off, on the contrary, is pretty good to stay locked into because you knock off items and if they switch (which probably won't happen :P) they are gonna get hit extremely hard. Also, you are missing 44 EVs on Landorus-Therian. I assume you meant to put 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Def. Finally, I suggest you use www.pokestadium.com/tools/sprites for your sprites because sprites are nice but the black flashing is annoying.

Hey Admin Umbra thanks for sharing your thoughts and good suggestions :)
Super power is there to deal with chansey on a more reliable basis then focus miss gengar can, however I might add knock off instead of stone edge. I put glare on Serp because I'm not sure what else it could run, maybe sub?
Flash cannon is for diance because it could but dents in my team if not killed early.

Hey TheHoodedGamer,
I noticed I was missing the EV's right before I read your comment. I am gonna change that right away ,how stupid of me :).
Also, I'm going to delve int the Lando set since I can't seem to decide on what to run on him.
Thanks for the effort!

I would recomend changing thund-t to normal thundurus with a mixed wallbreaker set. Personally I dont think you need 2 choice scarf users and the extra damage and utility from the priority t wave.

gl with the team
