My Baton Passing Team!

Hey everybody. I have made my FIRST Baton Passing team. Baton Passing teams are teams that rely on 5 Baton Passers in order to make the sweeper a hell of strong. So, let's see my awesome (maybe not) Baton Passing team!

Ninjask (Boy)

EVs : 252 HP, 252 Spe, 4 Att

Nature : Adamant

Ability : Speed Boost

Moves :
Protect
Substitute
X Scissor
Baton Pass

Purpose : Speed gainer. Get as much speed as possible, and then pass the baton.

You may be asking yourself, "Where's Swords Dance?" Well, we'll get to that later. Ninjask is purely speed booster on this team. This helps the sweeper in outspeeding almost anything in the game, only if you get enough speed boosts. A very solid choice for OU Baton Passing.

Smeargle (Girl)

EVs : 252 HP, 252 Spe, 4 SpD

Nature : Timid

Ability : Own Tempo

Moves :
Mean Look
Spore
Belly Drum
Baton Pass

Purpose : Trapping the opponent, gaining attack, and then passing the baton.

See? This is the attack raiser. Belly Drum is an excellent move to Baton Pass, however, only Smeagle can do that job. Also, Mean Look is excellent with Spore, as the opponent can't escape when he gets Spore'd. Another solid choice for any Baton Passing team.

Gorebyss (Girl)

EVs : 252 HP, 252 Def, 4 SpA

Nature : Bold

Ability : Swift Swim

Moves :
Substitute
Amnesia
Surf
Baton Pass

Purpose : Special defense gainer. Amnesia as much as possible, and then pass the Baton.

Substitute is mainly for preventing status. Amnesia helps the Baton Passer be more sturdy and can take more hits than normal. Vacuum Wave won't do as much to that sweeper as it without the special defense boosts. A very good defense builder. Now, you can alternatively gave Gorebyss Iron Defense or Barrier, but I find Substitute to make Gorebyss more bulky because it can prevent Toxic, Will-O-Wisp, and Thunder Wave, all moves than hurts my Baton Passing team, so I prefer Substitute, and what else will I put in that last empty spot? You know, my next pokemon is strictly defense building....

Vaporeon (Boy)

EVs : 252 HP, 252 SpD, 4 SpD

Nature : Careful

Ability : Water Absorb

Moves :
Substitute
Acid Armor
Surf
Baton Pass

Purpose : Defense gainer. Acid Armor as much as possible, and then pass the baton.

The third OU in the Baton Passing chain. Vaporeon makes an excellent candidate for passing defenses to the sweeper thanks to Acid Armor and Baton Pass. Passing the defenses to the sweeper makes it again very sturdy so moves like Scizor's Bullet Punch won't do as to the sweeper. A very good choice for OU Baton Passing. Again, Substitute helps Vaporeon be more bulky because it prevents status like Will-O-Wisp, ect. Wish could be replaced by Substitute, but I like Substitute a tad better.

Plusle (Girl)

EVs : 252 HP, 252 SpA, 4 Spe

Nature : Modest

Ability : Plus

Moves :
Nasty Plot
Grass Knot
Thunderbolt
Baton Pass

Purpose : Special attack Baton Passer / alternative sweeper.

Now, there is a possibility that your sweeper may faint, so I arranged another pokemon to pass Nasty Plots, to make it a mixed attacker (and you'll see why) or sweep if the sweeper faints. Special attack can be actually really viable to a sweeper because it allows it to be a mixed sweeper, so it can take on a both Skarmory and a Blissey if they are on the same team. Plusle can really only be an effective Baton if it gets defenses really (Plusle's defense is awful if you know what I mean.)

Staryu (Genderless)

EVs : 252 Spe, 126 Att, 126 SpA, 4 HP

Nature : Adamant (It helps Stayu's awful Attack.)

Ability : Nature Cure

Moves :
Return
Surf
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam

Purpose : Lulz sweeper.

You always can have a funny part in your Baton Passing team, so I putted Staryu instead of Starmie just to make the opponent more embarrassed by there defeat. Surf is a good STAB move, Thunderbolt handles Gyarados and other water types, Ice Beam wares down Dragons, and Return handles Blissey. As you can see, there is some amazing coverage on this thing, and if the Baton Passing chain becomes successful, then your going to have one hell of a sweep! I tested this sweeper in two battles. One was with a Blissey lead, 6 - 0'd, and the second was a Trick Room team, 5 - 0'd, showing how powerful this sweeper can be. They got annihilated!

Well, that's pretty much it. Hope you think this Baton Passing chain is effective, and have a nice day.

Use Starmie over Staryu. This isn't a Little Cup team honestly. Also, put Lonely over Adamant on Starmie, you won't want your SpA to be cut. Also, use Togekiss over Plusle as your Nasty Plot passer, Plusle can faint easily.
Use this moveset:
Togekiss @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP/64 SpD/192 Spe
Calm nature (+SpD, -Atk)
- Nasty Plot
- Air Slash
- Baton Pass
- Roost
It could pass Nasty Plots much easier than Plusle does, also spamming Air Slash w/ Serene Grace helps.
I'd also suggest this moveset for Vaporeon:
Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 128 HP/252 Def/128 Spe
Calm nature (+SpD, -Atk)
- Baton Pass
- Acid Armor
- Wish
- Surf
Though you can't pass Substitutes now, you can now pass Wishes as well as Aqua Ring to Starmie.
Give Starmie Life Orb or Expert Belt if you can't afford the HP loss, give Ninjask a Focus Sash and give the rest Leftovers.

Please realize that this forum is intended to rate "competitive Pokemon teams". If you replace Staryu with something else, I will reopen this thread:

RMT rules said:
15. As a site dedicated to competitive battling, we request that your team is as competitive as possible within its given metagame. In-game teams and gimmick teams will be closed. Battle Tower teams are permitted. "Theme Teams" are also OK as long as they demonstrate an understanding of the competitive metagame they are to be used in.
