Metagross @ Lum Berry
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 220 HP/248 Atk/20 Def/20 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk,-SpAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Meteor Mash
---
For this team I started off by choosing a lead. I wanted something that could hit like a truck right away. I've always liked Metagross leads, but stealth rock always takes up an important offensive slot. This Metagross has all the offensive moves it wants by forgoing the stealth rock. Occa berry is a very useful item but I hate getting spored so I gave this Metagross lum berry. 20 speed EVs ensure I'm faster than other Metagross leads. Bullet punch for priority and killing focus sash users. Meteor mash and earthquake to hit hard. Explosion to destroy defensive threats or just suicide to destroy something.

Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk,-SpAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Waterfall
---
I wanted my team to have a stealth rock user and Swampert is a great stealth rock user that can also contribute both offensively and defensively to my team. The EVs and nature are for maximum attack and bulk. Earthquake, waterfall, and stone edge provide great coverage in combination. Swampert has the attack to make them hurt too.
---

Dragonite (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 116 Atk/192 Spd/200 SpAtk
Rash nature (+SpAtk,-SpDef)
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Roost
- Superpower
---
Dragonite is here to punch holes in teams with the mixed set. It also offers quite useful defensive typing. Draco meteor is to hit hard, flamethrower is to take care of steel types. Superpower is for things like Blissey and Heatran.
---

Machamp (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk,-SpAtk)
- DynamicPunch
- Payback
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
---
Machamp is a pain to face against. I remember my friend started using Machamp a lot and I realized there isn't much that OHKOs the beast. I wanted to give my team a status absorber so I used this set. Though it does lose stone edge and the useful substitute, it is still very effective with dynamicpunch and payback alone. Furthermore it has a way to heal itself.
---

248.png

Tyranitar (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd,-SpAtk)
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge
---
This is the revenge killer of my team. He isn't the fastest revenge killer around but he takes care of just about anything that isn't faster than him. Pursuit is also very useful for taking out things like Gengar and Starmie really fast. Great defenses and typing make him a very useful pokemon for switching into attacks.
---

251.png

Celebi @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SpAtk
Timid nature (+Spd,-Atk)
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Leaf Storm
- Recover
---
Last but not least is Celebi. I wanted a reliable water resist that could handle bulky water pokemon while still packing a punch. With leaf storm and life orb Celebi can do a chunk of damage even to steel type pokemon. Earth power makes Heatran's life difficult as long as it doesn't have torment or shuca berry. Hidden power [fire] is great against Scizor, but outside of that hidden power [ice] is far more useful coverage-wise. It also takes out Dragonite which otherwise forces me to make a switch and take a hard hit.
---

That's the team.

Credit and thanks to Team Marriland for the team builder chart.

As far as weaknesses go I can't think of anything this team outright dies against. It seems like it would take quite a bit of punishment from spikes and toxic spikes. There are some borderline pokemon like Empoleon which might take me out if I'm not careful. Often times my only way to beat a set-up sweeper is to send in something bulky enough to survive a hit and KO it back. There are some things that could give me a pretty hard time like Infernape.

Suggestions are welcome. Comments too. I'm not a very good team builder so I'm sure there could be some moderate to major improvements.

I would suggest that you replace Earthquake with stealth rock on metagross, as it is better to have the lead use SR than for another Pokémon to--you want SR down as soon as possible to further aid your momentum. Since Swampert deals with Infernape and Heatran leads well enough (if Infernape lacks Grass Knot), earthquake is not really needed; although if you want to survive a hit and lay down SR, try occa berry>lum berry.

And with that, you can replace stealth rock with Ice Punch on Swampert. It helps you deal with Flygon and Dragonite better. It is usually better for it to do so, as Dragonite threatens Celebi with Fire blast, something it cannot do to Swampert.

Also, use Grass Knot>Leaf Storm on Celebi. It does not enjoy the special attack loss, and cannot simply resort to a physical move the way physical Mixape can.

@above: You clearly don't understand, that's the Attacking Lead Metagross set. Plus he already has SR on Swampert, so another SRer is redundant.

You lack priority users, making this team weak to Swords Dancers and Agility users like Metagross, Lucario, Infernape, Gyarados etc. For that, i suggest replacing one of Dragonite's moves for ExtremeSpeed. And Fire Blast should replace Flamethrower, to get the KO most of time on Skarmory and Metagross.

I also Celebi with offensive Suicune, as it can take care of the Pokemon mentioned above.

Suicune @ Leftovers
252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid
- Calm Mind
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power Electric
- Ice Beam

Togekiss can also seriously threaten this team, especially Choice Scarf, allowing it to outspeed all of your Pokemon and kill them with the appropriate moves. [Aura Sphere > Tyranitar, Air Slash > Celebi, Machamp etc.] Though you can play around Togekiss, it's another reason why you need a priority user.

Good luck.

HistoryofStone: I value the early aggression more than the early stealth rock.
Stone edge handles Dragonite fine and Flygon isn't particularly threatening. A waterfall or something will hurt it good enough.
I'll consider grass knot on Celebi although I haven't had problems with leaf storm. Leaf storm hits a lot harder than grass knot usually does and I'm usually forced to switch out soon enough anyway. If I have problems with it I might switch. Vaporeon is another good reason to have leaf storm.

Arikado: I didn't think of Lucario with bullet punch. I'll have to try to figure out a way to handle those 2 sweepers. I could maybe redesign the team a bit by replacing Machamp with Infernape that has mach punch. Or I suppose I could even try to put Scizor or something into the team. I'm not too worried about Togekiss. It's just a matter of prediction as you said. Scizor would help against it too if I put such on the team.
I'm not sure why I would need to replace flamethrower on Dragonite. It almost always OHKOs defensive Skarmory and specially defensive Skarmory isn't quite a OHKO with fire blast anyways. I'd give him fire blast if I gave him a +speed nature.

Thanks for the comments and rates. I'll be in the process of brainstorming possible changes I could make.

Edited my post^ to be more accurate, i typed ununderstandable things there, fixed that.

And also suggested Suicune.

This post is probably gonna be deleted, but w/e.

May I suggest you replace Celebi with Superachi?

Jirachi @ Leftovers
252 Spe/252 Sp.A/4 HP
Timid
-Calm Mind
-HP Ground
-Thunderbolt
-Pyschic

This set has great coverage, while fitting in with "Bulky Offence" more.

Also, I noticed that your Dragonite's powerful moves both reduce damage after use. I suggest you replace his current Life Orb with a Choice Scarf, since you'll most likely need to switch anyway, or replace his set with:

Dragonite @ Leftovers
252 Spe/252 Atk/4 HP
Jolly
-Roost
-Dragon Dance
-Dragon Claw
-Earthquake

The only things that resist EQ + Dragon Claw on OU are Skarmory and Bronzong. They will both fall easily to Machamp, however.

Hi there, this looks like an excellent team.

Threats

  • Dragon Dance Gyarados
  • Substitute Gengar/Heatran
  • Infernape
  • Lucario
  • SubCharge Rotom
  • Slight Offensive Shaymin Problem
Though his is a nicely built team as it can efficiently check many of the common threats seen in standard battles today, I think that your team has problems with the Pokemon mentioned above. Offensive Gyarados, Lucario and Infernape can easily shred this team to pieces if given the chance to set up, due to the fact that your team does not contain any "proper" checks or counters to them. Also, since since you rely solely on Tyranitar to help against the likes of Gengar and Heatran, substitute variants will be able to overcome your main switch-in to them and proceed to heavily damage the rest of your team; SubCharge Rotom is in the same vein as Substitute Gengar and Heatran. Lastly, its seems as if you have a slight weakness to offensive Shaymin for obvious reasons.

Solutions

  • Choice Scarf Rotom-W
  • Substitute 3-Attacks Machamp

Rotom-w @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd/252 SpAtk/4 SpDef
Timid nature (+Spd,-Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Trick[/box]
I suggest using Choice Scarf Rotom-W over your current Dragonite variant as it seems it's contrinuting to the team the least. Rotom-W can easily take down all of the stat boosting sweepers I have mentioned due to the sheer amount of coverage it moves provide. Also, including a scarf Rotom-W on your team will generally be able to lower your vulnerability to the substitute sweepers I mentioned, as although you'll probably be losing one Pokemon in the process to overcome said threat, you will be able to easily revenge kill the threat without worrying about it plowing through your entire team. Also, I suggest using the standard substitute three attacks Machamp variant over your current one since it fits a lot more nicely onto an offensive team such as this; also, since you already have Celebi to absorb status, it won't be too much of a problem if you decide to make the change. I hope this helped, and good luck!
