My BW OU team (just trying out new stuff)

Well, here's my team. I'm relatively new on this, so don't critisize too much if it's not good at all... But I'll be glad if you can help me, guys :toast:

My team!

Bronzong @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature

- Stealth Rock
- Trick
- Earthquake
- Explosion

My lead, Bronzong, is the one who put rocks on the foe's field. It can also annoy some "choice sweepers", or just toxic someone (good at breaking some annoyers/walls, for example), with Trick and the Toxic Orb. Earthquake is for Magnezone, and Explosion to finish his job. It's who absorb the foe's Toxics. I'm thinking in a Ferrothorn for doing this job, or a Blissey with Stealth Rock.

Whimsicott @ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature

- Taunt/(Maybe a change for Stun Spore?)
- Encore
- Leech Seed
- Substitute

Ah, Whimsy. Just a headache. The one to cripple boost sweepers and walls. I usually change on it when a water type attack is aimed to my Chandelure. I have searched for a Swicheroo/Encore Whimsy, but it seems illegal.

639.png

Chandelure @ Life Orb
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature

- Overheat
- Energy ball
- Shadow Ball
- Psychic

My wallbreaker, but it surely will have problems with Blissey/Chansey. Wide coverage, a switch-in for Fighting, Normal and Fire attacks. Since it's a wallbreaker, I don't think a Timid Nature is useful. It's useful for Scizor who don't invest on Speed, or Forretress and Ferrothorn, bulky water types who don't have Aqua Jet (Gastrodon, Swampert, Jellicent)...

hydreigon.png

Hydreigon @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature

- Flamethrower
- Draco Meteor
- Focus Blast
- Dark Pulse

My revenge killer. It's just amazing. I'm thinking in a mixed one, though. Along with Bronzong, they're the one who switch-in on a Ground move. It has a good movepool, and I think this moveset is kinda useful. It have problems with Blissey/Chansey, and Jolly Scarf Terrakion/Mach Punch users (Conkeldurr). The last ones are tried to be predicted and aimed at Chandelure (keeping in mind Rock Slide and Stone Edge). I'm thinking on a Terrakion to do this job, but I'll miss Hydreigon's coverage.
197.png

Umbreon @ Leftovers
Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature

- Wish
- Payback
- Heal Bell
- Protect

The wisher and status remover of my team. It's typical. I don't know what to say exactly about it: it's just really useful for my team, specifically healing Hydreigon.
462_magnezone_front_norm.png

Magnezone @ Light Clay
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 HP / 208 SpA / 48 Spe
Modest Nature

- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power Fire

Its job is basically to trap dangerous Steel types, and set screens. Its resistance and natural bulk allow it to do its job easily. With 48 EV on Speed, it outspeeds 0 EV Speed Scizor. Maybe I should replace Hydreigon's object, or him, because the screens will be useful for setting up.

Maybe I've to replace Umbreon for a Vaporeon (0 EV/31 IV Special Attack Ice Beam OHKO Gliscor, 2HKO Hydreigon, and 2HKO Multiscale Dragonite). I dunno, I have a lot of ideas but I'm not really sure about them :/ A Mandibuzz for stalling? An Alomomola/Audino/Vaporeon for wishing? A physical wall like Tangrowth with Regeneration? I'll really appreciate your help, guys.

PD: Don't reccommend me unreleased/event/hack things, please, because I can't get them :b

Hey there. That's a solid team with a lot of potential going for it. I have a lot of suggestions to help make this team better, so bear with me throughout this rate. Firstly, Magnezone is not a really good dual screener. If you want a dual screener for this team, I'd suggest that you use Azelf over your current Magnezone. With Azelf in your team, you can set up screens much easier and it can set up the always needed Stealth Rocks that every team needs. Moving on, your team seems severely weak to HP Ground Volcarona. If I could make a suggestion, I would replace your Umbreon with a Standard Chansey. With Chansey in your team, Volcarona will have a hard time getting through it. Also, Chansey is an amazing status absorber and wishpasser. Another change I would make is changing Bronzong to a Forretress. With Forretress in your team, you can spin away hazards so your Chandelure can proceed to somehow sweep your opponent. That's all I have to say for this team. I really hope that I helped. Have fun and good luck with your team! Also, just a tip, you should increase your Pokemon descriptions to about a paragraphs length for each one.

I gave a try to the changes and they improved my team a lot, making a stronger defensive core (Chansey and Forretress are just amazing). I usually have a bad time with mixed sweepers, but that's only a problem of prediction. I think I'll try a different screener, because I don't really like Azelf (it dies really easy).

Thank you very much -^^- ! You really helped me a lot :)

I'll try, I'm gonna edit it.

Hi,

Assuming that you're team is now Chansey/Forretress/Azelf/Hydreigon/Whimsicott/Chandelure, here's what I think:

You're right- Azelf really needs to go. The subject of screening/setting hazards is done better by Deoxys-Defense who is a lot bulkier, and still pretty fast.

Deoxys-D @ Light Clay
252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid nature
~Reflect
~Light Screen
~Taunt
~Stealth Rock

Deoxys is a great screen setter- and it becomes a defensive behemoth after it sets up. Giving Chansey a defense boost and Forretress a special defense boost makes them extra hard to take down. Taunt shuts down other hazard setters, and SR is for hazards.

One thing I'm noticing is that your team is very Blissey weak- you don't have any strong physical attacks/physical attackers, so Blissey will wall you all day. To help you against Blissey, I suggest you give Hydreigon Superpower and U-Turn instead of Focus Blast and Flamethrower, and a spread of 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Naive. Superpower hits Blissey hard, removing it as a defensive threat. U-Turn allows you to scout quickly, and gain momentum.

Good luck!

I've never tried Deoxys-D, but I'm watching his stats I'll definitely give it a go.

Just a question... How can Hydreigon learn Superpower o.O ? I've been noticing that I need a physical attacker, and make Hydreigon Mixed is a good idea.

Thanks for advising me!

Hey, I like your team! You are using a lot of unique things. Respect. I basically use the same Whimsicott as you. Definitely use Stun Spore over Taunt. Not that many things will carry Taunt anyway, and the paralysis is EXTREMELY useful. It will help tremendously in allowing your Chandelure/Hydreigon to sweep. Come to think of it Chandelure is not really doing anything spectacular for you. I might swap it for something else (you lack a good physical attacker). Anyways, good luck with the team. Hope this helps! ;P
