My first attempt at a Balanced Offense Team

Hey guys, I'm a huge pokemon fan and I've dabbled in competitive battling in past generations, but I've never really put together a well balanced, thought-out team. This is my first attempt at creating one. It's been doing decently well on showdown and wifi, but I have noticed its lacking something, so please critique it as much as possible.

(However, please don't suggest gliscor, rotom-w, or the genies, even though they could work well on this team. I hate them with a passion)

The team's basic premise is simple, balanced offense. It centers around Charizard-X, who I think is a really solid sweeper. Anyway, here is the full team:

Charizard (Phlogiston) @ Charizardite-X
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Flare Blitz
- Earthquake

From my testing, Charizard-X seems really good. His fire/dragon typing actually gives him great type resistances, which can allow him to set up relatively easily. I've found that most people expect Charizard-Y to come out, so you can catch people off guard. He only really needs one dragon dance to start wreaking havoc. Dragon claw, Flare Blitz, and Earthquake give him nice coverage. I take dragon claw over outrage because I don't like being locked in and I find dragon claw to be strong enough to get the job done. All in all, a really solid mon who usually scores one or two kos a match. Of course, having a charizard on a team pretty much necessitates a hazard remover, who I have chosen to be...

Donphan (Stampy) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Shard
- Rapid Spin

While excadrill is a popular rapid spinner at the moment, I find donphan does the job just as well. He also functions as my physical wall and does the job admirably. Donphan can come in on most physical attackers, then rapid spin/stealth rock on the switch. Ice shard works well on him and allows him to go toe-to-toe with dragons. Earthquake allows him to hit hard against steel types like lucario and aegislash. His lack of recovery is semi annoying but hes generally bulky enough not to care.

greninja.png

Greninja (Jin) @ Life Orb
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 SAtck / 252 Spd / 4 Atk
Hasty Nature
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Dark Pulse
- U-turn

Greninja works well as a speedy revenge killer. His protean attacks do a surprisingly large amount of damage. I run hasty nature and 4 evs in attack so that his U-turns hit hard as well. I run surf over hydro pump because I really don't trust the accuracy. An all-around solid special attacker. He has been doing a good job so far, but not stellar, so I'm open to suggestions.

Togekiss (Benedict) @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtck / 4 SpDef
Modest Nature
- Roost
- Nasty Plot
- Air Slash
- Aura Sphere

Togekiss works great as a bulky setup sweeper. Even without much defensive investment, he can sponge hits well and setup easily with roost and nasty plot. Air slash and aura sphere isn’t great coverage (I’m open to suggestions), but it has generally been working ok. I was debating whether to run this or the physically defensive variant, but because I already had a physical wall in donphan, I chose this build. Another solid special attacker and win condition.

Aegislash (Tsujigiri) @ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpDef
Adamant Nature
- Kings Shield
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Sneak
- Sacred Sword

Pretty standard Aegislash build, but holy hell is he fun to play. Setting up with him is incredibly easy and rewarding. Greninja can usually take care of a lot of aegislash’s counters, fire and ground types, allowing aegislash to cut through the enemy team. This thing works incredibly well as a lategame sweeper and has won me many games. Overall really pleased with it.

Celebi (Davos) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/ 220 SpDef / 36 Spd
Calm Nature
- Psychic
- Giga Drain
- Thunder Wave
- Recover

Works decently well as a special defensive wall and status absorber with natural cure. You can send him in against a special attacker to sponge almost any special attack. Then, on the switch, he can cripple a sweeper with thunder wave, or hit decently hard with giga drain or psychic. Works well against the ever-present rotom-w, who this team otherwise struggles with. However, I haven’t been super impressed with him; he is probably the most replaceable member of my team.

Well there you have it. This team is still in early stages, so feel free to suggest lots of changes. Also, this is my first RMT, so please let me know if I'm missing anything. Thanks for reading and hopefully this team can become semi-decent!

Lot of users using their bump. As I just used mine, thought I'd go help others who used their bump.

I see you have three pokemon that can set up and sweep pretty well, two tanks to support them, but only one all-out attacker as a way to revenge kill or clear out enemy threats with straight-up damage. And one of those tanks is somewhat weak. The way you are using your Celebi right now, Blissey can do a better job, though Blissey is rather mainstream. Assault Vest Goodra can serve as a powerful special tank who can take advantage of entry hazards to dragon tail to rack up damage. Choice specs or choice scarf on Greninja can help him do a better job revenge killing by either nuking harder or outspeeding potentially very fast enemy threats who have set up on you.

yeah, some good points. I was thinking of substituting greninja for a scarf genesect, but I'm not sure how long that thing is going to stay in OU. I'd prefer not to use blissey as I find it an all around annoying pokemon to play with/against, but assault vest goodra sounds interesting, although I only run stealth rocks. Thanks for your input

Oh, and I didn't know about the bump limit - is it once per thread, or something?
