My first attempt at a competitive team

My first attempt at a competitive team. There is going to be a tournament at my school, so I figured I would try and make a legitimate team, but I don't really know enough about the format to know what I should be countering. Any and all help would be appreciated!

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Adamant - Sand Stream
252 HP / 32 Atk / 224 SpD
-Stealth Rock
-Stone Edge
-Payback
-Earthquake

I use him to lay down a Stealth Rock and then start beating down with powerful STAB moves. Also sets up Sandstorm, which all of my pokemon, except Tenticruel, are unaffected by.

Gliscor @ Leftovers
Impish - Sand Veil
252 HP / 40 DEF / 216 Spe
-Earthquake
-U-turn
-Toxic
-Roost

Gliscor goes pretty well with Tyranitar, getting the increase in evasiveness off of Tyranitar's sand stream effect. He also covers several weaknesses pretty well making him a good option to switch in to. With Max HP EVs, increased evasion, leftovers, and roost he should be able stick around and possibly force a switch out from my opponent.

Tenticruel @ Leftovers
Calm - Liquid Ooze
252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SpD
-Toxic Spikes
-Rapid spin
-Sludge bomb
-Surf

He gives me access to rapid spin, while also covering the Water and Ice weakness that several of my Pokemon have. Keeping with the stall theme he also drops down Poison spikes, and has a pretty high Def and SpD.

Bronzong @ Light Clay
Relaxed- Levitate
252 HP / 152 Atk / 104 SpD
-Reflect
-Light Screen
-Gyro Ball
-Explosion

At this point I'm pretty sure you can all tell I love maxing out my pokemon's HP EVs lol. His job is to make it even harder for my opponent to kill my guys by setting up some walls. Also acts as bait so I can explosion their guy and keep my walls.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Modest- Flash Fire
252 HP / 16 SpA / 240 SpD
-Will-O-Wisp
-Fire Blast
-Earth Power
-Roar

I threw Heatran in last because I couldn't come up with anything else that seemed to fit what I was going for. I like the fact that Will-o-Wisp and Roar help my stall strategy, and he switches in on an infernape pretty well.

Scizor @ Life Orb
Adamant - Technician
200 HP / 252 Atk / 56 Spe
-Sword Dance
-Bullet Punch
-Bug Bite
-Pursuit

My favorite pokemon, and apparently one of the best pokemon in OU. After my opponents Pokemon have all been weakened by Sand storm, Stealth Rocks, Poison Spikes, and whatever else, Scizor Just comes in and takes out what's left.

As you can see by my poor explanations I don't really know too much and could really use some help.

Right now, the biggest weakness your team has is to Dragon Dance Gyarados. It can set up on anything except Tyranitar and the only way you can take it out is by Exploding on it with Bronzong. Toxic Spikes and Rapid Spin don't seem to benifit your team very much, so I suggest swapping Tentacruel with Vaporeon. Your team has three Pokemon with a Water weakness, so it's probably best to have a Water immunity rather than a resistance.

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
Nature: Bold
EVs: 188 HP/252 Def/68 Spe

Wish
Protect
Surf
Hidden Power [Electric]/Roar

Vaporeon with HP Electric is probably the best Gyarados counter there is due to Water Absorb and its high SpAtk. HP Electric will OHKO offensive Gyrados after it switches into Stealth Rock. Wish and Protect provide Vaporeon with a way to heal itself and its teamates. Since none of the rest of your team can heal besides Gliscor, it will help them stay alive a lot longer. You can use Roar over HP Electric because it will still force Gyarados out (as well as Salamence who will give you trouble) and you probably don't have a HP Electric Vaporeon in game. Vaporeon will also be your best switch in to Heatran and Infernape (don't switch your own Hetran in as it will be taken out by Earthpower and Close Combat respectively).

Don't use Pursuit on SD Scizor. The only time things are going to switch out of it, are when it first comes in and you'd be better off getting a Swords Dance up. Go with Brick Break or Superpower in the last slot to hit Steel types (especially Heatran). You should give Scizor some Paralysis support since it's slow and you won't be able to take out Heatran without it (unless, of course, you kill it beforehand). I'm not sure what you should use to give Scizor Paralysis support, but it should be able to take on BoltBeamers like Starmie.

Personally, I would go with making Gliscor your lead and giving it Stealth Rock over Toxic and making Tyranitar the standard Scarf/Band variant to take out things like Rotom-A, Zapdos, and Starmie more easily. They'll pose a huge problem to Scizor if you can't take them out before setting up. I don't think anyone at your shool is going to be running Stall, so Toxic shouldn't be necessary.

Edit: Also, what Pokemon/items are banned from this tornament (if any). You'll need to know if anyone's going to be throwing things like Kyogre or Soul Dew Lati@s around.

Thank you for the help. I will try out Vaporeon over Tenticruel and replace puruit with Brick break. I guess using Gliscor as a lead makes more sense because he can set up a quick stealth rock and then U-turn out.

I don't really like the choice items much, so is there another option for Tyranitar you would suggest? Also are Bronzong and Heatran good or do you have any suggestions for them? Lastly, I don't know what the rules are, but one of the people organizing it uses the smogon tier list, so I think it's safe to assume the tournament will be OU.

Thanks again for the help :]

Well you could go with Life Orb to give you almost as much power (or Expert Belt if you want to make your opponent think you have a Choice Band but that probably won't work). Heatran seems a bit misplaced and even though you don't like Choice Items, Choice Scarf/Specs is really where Heatran shines unless you want to go with the Sub Sets. Bronzong seems good; although its most common switchins are Fire types that Scizor wouldn't be able to set up on, so you should consider using something like Dual Screen Cresselia that can use Lunar Dance to heal Scizor (for a second chance to sweep) and use Thunder Wave to cripple things like Heatran who Scizor can take out with Brick Break/Super Power.

You have a weird heatran. The only stallset that involves heatran is torment tran. It has a niche, but I don't know. You're team is also scared of dd dance salamence and dragonite if they have a fire type move. Mixed sets could kill your team. That's an interesting tourney, I know this doesn't have much to do with this, and if you don't want to answer don't, it doesn't matter much, Who's organizing the tourney? A website or just some guy? It just seems a bit odd.....

Well thats a interesting team you have there.Well fiest of all you really dont need tentacruel because no one in your team really minds rocks or TS and regular spikes arent really a big deal tbh.Try something like a vappy or swampert instead. Then switch out pirsuit for brick break. Why?Because ur better off swords dancing while the enemy switches rather that wasting the turn pirsuiting it.U could also consider a builkier scizor which i reccomend.Well thats all i can think off =P
