Hi guys. Brand new to the competitive Pokemon world and this is my first attempt at a team. Using some of my favorites from the UU and NU tiers.
Torterra (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 136 HP/122 Atk/252 Def
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Earthquake
- Wood Hammer
- Swords Dance
- Rock Slide
I don't know if it's the fact that Torterra is the first Pokemon I had since I was in high school, when I stopped playing the games until diamond came out, or what but he holds a certain place on my list and as my first one out of the gate. Tough as a Sherman tank and able to give out as much as he takes, this guy is what I look for in a pokemon.

Glaceon (F) @ Icicle Plate
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Ice Beam
- Shadow Ball
- Hail
I always liked vaporeon in R&B so when i saw that in IV gen they made a ice eveeloution, I made it my goal to get. With SAtk through the roof, she holds my special sweeper role for sure on this team.
---
Ninetales (M) @ Flame Plate
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Spd/252 SAtk/4 SDef
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Energy Ball
- Flamethrower
- Dark Pulse
I feel a special conection with the original 150. I beleive it is because of when I started playing pokemon, we lined up for hours to see the first pokemon movie, not because it had exclusive cards or whatnot, but because it was going to show new pokemon. Back to why Ninetales is on my team. Speed! That and Ninetales is my favorite pokemon of all time.
---
Marowak (M) @ Thick Club
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Fire Blast
Looking for a UU/NU ground pokemon is hard. There are some good ones out there but none of them have the attack strength of Marowak.
---
Blastoise (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Rapid Spin
- Surf
- Toxic
- Protect
Looking for a water pokemon, I had really only one option in my mind. Blastoise is THE water pokemon for me. So when I saw him on the UU/NU list. I took it.
---
Hypno (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Insomnia
EVs: 252 HP/56 Def/200 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Psychic
- Thunder Wave
- Wish
- Reflect
I needed a wall and what better wall is there besides a Hypno. It can slow whole teams down and heal my team at the same time.
