My First Attempt (Need Advice)

Hiya. So, this is my first attempt at a decent team. My goal here was to use Pokemon that I actually like (I don't believe in using Pokemon I hate just for the sake of winning, but at the same time I don't like losing all the time, so I need to find a middle ground). All of the Pokemon on this team are Pokemon that I really like, I know some of them are sub-par (Claydol), and any advice I can get would be appreciated. :]


Gengar (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate

Timid Nature

Sableye (F) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SDef
Impish Nature

Scolipede (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Megahorn
- Protect
- Swords Dance
- Baton Pass

Clefable (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 240 HP / 200 Def / 68 SDef
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled
- Focus Blast

Lucario (F) @ Lucarionite
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Close Combat
- Ice Punch

Claydol @ Assault Vest
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 232 HP / 130 Def / 146 SDef
Sassy Nature
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Dazzling Gleam
- Ice Beam

In general it seems to do pretty well, but I know it can be improved. I usually open with Scolipede, set up, and Baton Pass out to Lucario, unless I feel like they are gonna open with something that can be countered by Sableye. Clefable is a tanky beast that I just love. So many people just forfeit when I start using Calm Mind and Soft-Boiled. Gengar is my general "go-to guy". Claydol...I love him. He's one of my favorite Pokemon...so creepy and weird. But I also know he's Probably my weakest link. He does well, but I find I use him way less than anyone else on the team. Can he be made any better than what I have? If not I was thinking of maybe swapping him for Gyarados, Metagross, or Garchomp. Also, I'm not totally confident about my item choices. I'm thinking I might have some of them mixed up. Anyway...suggestions to fix/improve it would be appreciated. :] Thanks for taking the time to read this.
 
Your team gets wrecked by a BD Azumarill, so i suggest switching Claydol for a Gastrodon. And why d fuq does Sableye have an air baloon?
 
Thanks. I noticed Azumarill was really strong against me, and is one of the Pokemon I get afraid to see. I wasn't sure what to use to counter him though. As for Sableye's item, I'm not really sure. I think someone randomly suggested it to me and I blindly took the advice. What would be better on him? Clefable's Leftovers? Or maybe a berry?

You could use a Harvest Trevenant w/ Sitrus Berry over Sableye, it works better, as Sableye lost his no-weakness.
Also, you could use Unaware Clefable to counter your Azumarill weakness.

Sorry my mistake, I helped Rio with his team, should have been a lum berry on Sableye xD, was a slightly out of date showdown version.

Gastrodon sounds solid, we've had Alot of success with Sableye so far, he can counter aegislash cold, and tons of other pokemon. I use trevenant myself, and had more hard counters vs him vs sableye ever
