My first competitive team:

Hello everyone. I am rather new to the competitive scene in X/Y and have scrapped a team together. This is what I have so far, and I would love whatever input you could provide.

Rotom-W
Levitate
Bold (252HP, 252Def, 4SpA)
Chesto Berry
-Volt Switch
-Hydro Pump
-Will-o-Wisp
-Rest

This guy is usually my lead. He covers most of my weaknesses in this team rather well with his physically defensive set, walling megas like Scizor and Kangashkan while threatening them out with a Will-O-Wisp. Volt Switch is there incase I lead with the wrong guy (Mega Charizard X/Y walls this set really well). Talonflame hates this guy, and he makes a good switch in to protect Scizor.

Dragonite
Multiscale
Adamant (252Att, 252Spe, 4HP)
Weakness Policy
-Dragon Dance
-Earthquake
-Dragon Claw
-Fire Punch

It is kind of weird, I find Dragonite to be a Revenge Sweeper. Once a Poke faints agains't an opponents without a status condition move, I can set up a free Dragon Dance. If they hit me with a SE move, I get the Weakness Policy activated and can OHKO most pokemon with Dragon Claw with +3Attack+1Speed. If not Dragonite can put a really good dent into most switch-ins (the most I have noticed is Sylveon and Rotom-W) with Earthquake or Dragon Claw. I can bluff Dragon Dance and double switch as well to keep momentum.

Scizor
Technician
Careful (252HP, 12Att, 244SpD)
Scizorite
-Swords Dance
-Bullet Punch
-X-Scissor
-Roost

Unfortunatly this set isn't working out for me. I really love the synergy with Rotom and Scizor as their weaknesses seem to compliment eachother. Talonflame walls this set completly as does Aegislash. I am not liking this guy to be honest, I think I would prefer to change him to a Scarfed Scizor with U-Turn and give the Mega Stone to something else. He walls Pinser and Heracross really well, and Swords Dance + Bullet Punch really hurts but he just attracts statuses like no-ones buisness and any fire pokemon resists both of his STABs.

Azumarill
Huge Power
Adamant (212HP, 252Att, 44Spe)
Choice Band
-Play Rough
-Aqua Jet
-Waterfall
-Superpower

OK, this guy is completly bonkers. Choice Band Azumarill has been a godsend for me, his bulk helps for switch ins against Dragons like Charizard X and Dragonite, who both wall my team rather well while setting up on their own. This is another Poke that seems to attract status conditions though, like Burn and Paralysis. So far Play Rough has been the MVP of the day on Showdown, as it does at least 50% on defensive walls and can 1HKO threats like Garchomp easily.

Starmie
Analytic (although might try Natural Cure for status absorbtion)
Modest (252SpA, 252Spe, 4HP)
Life Orb
-Rapid Spin
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
-Hydro Pump

The weakest link in my opinion. Starmie is an amazing pokemon, and with a Multiscale Dragonite and Talonflame I desperatly needed a spinner, but she isn't fitting in. Mainly because she is a Water Type (that makes three now) and just isn't hitting hard enough. I chose her over Mold Breaker Excadrill, but if I did I would have a team of physical hitters and a Rotom which doesn't sound smart to me. Her role is to switch in to threaten something, Spin rocks away and hope she doesn't get Pursuit trapped by Tyranitar when he switches back in.

Talonflame
Gale Wings
Adamant (252Att, 252Spe, 4HP)
Leftovers
-Roost
-Brave Bird
-U-Turn
-Flare Blitz

Talonflame is my revenge killer. She doesn't appreciate rocks but she does love being all brave and priority threatening everything. Flare Blitz is generic coverage, and U-Turn is to use if they are using Tyranitar (the most obvious switch in on Talonflame). Also a nice Grass resist due to 3 waters.

So yes, I understand my team is weak but I am willing to learn more and to balance it well. If I get rid of Starmie for Excadrill (which I think is best due to the Electric immunity) what else should I take out to balance my team (Physical/Defensive/Special). I am more then happy to switch anything around, but I do enjoy the core of Talonflame, RotomW and Scizor (non Mega is fine by me).

Thanks for all you help and I hope I explained my reasoning well. I have been testing on Showdown and the pokemon I mentioned are the most common for me. Thanks for your time. <3

Your team is good, I like the concept of it. I would just like to point out that you're exposed to electric type moves. Starmie, Talonflame, and Azumarill will all get hit hard by a decent special attacking electric move. Even more over if it includes the STAB. Only pokemon that will be able to take on those hits would be your rotom-w, though its bulk is mainly in physical def, due to its electric typing and you having it bulky. (*Edit* I did take into consideration your Azumarill, but its hp is mainly all it has regarding any kind of bulk) But other than that that seems to be the only pokemon in your team that has the bulk to it. I would consider taking our Azumarill for another wall such as, Donphan or Gliscor. They are good walls to have and they both resist the electric attacks, and other pokemon can back its weakness such as your rotom or starmie for water moves. Your scizor and Dragonite can also back up the grass weakness to it as well.

One other thing I will like to point out is the scizor. Why the careful nature if you aren't going to invest any ev's into special defense? This will greatly nerf your scizor's potential to hit hard with the bullet punch. I would suggest putting more ev's into its attack stat. If you really want to make it more bulky I would suggest this ev spread to be more suitable.

Scizor
Technician
Adamant/Careful: (252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 SpD)
Scizorite
-Swords Dance
-Bullet Punch
-X-Scissor
-Roost

Again these are just some suggestions, you do what you really think is best for your team. But I hope this has helped you out a bit. Good luck with your team and as always, have fun doing so ;D

That was a Typo, instead of SpA I should of put SpD haha.

What type of Gliscor should I be using? I think a Toxic stall set would be most beneficial to this team, but offensive Acrobatics looks to be helpful as well. Does Gliscor learn Stealth Rocks prepokebank?

Lol oh okay that explains it then. And for Gliscor of course I would recommend the wall type. As you said the toxic stall one would be very beneficial and you will have another bulky type pokemon to help absorb hits. Of course you would want to try to get a poison heal one.

Gliscor does learn Stealth Rocks but it is only a 5th gen move that can only be obtained through previous games. So you will need to have one with it in your b2/w2 or previous games with it. And since pokebank comes out pretty soon you will be able to take advantage of that.

Here is a suggestion for a Gliscor you could use for this team;

Gliscor
Poison Heal
Impish: Varies on what ev spread you want really; I recommend (252 Hp / 200 Def / 52 Spd or 52 Atk) <-- choose which one you feel comfortable with.
Toxic Orb
-Roost
-Toxic
-Protect/Substitute
-Earthquake
