My first competitive team

Keep in mind that I barely do IV's, so im not going to list those. Just rate the movesets and EV's please.

Salamence @ Choice Specs
Modest
EV's: 252 SAtk, 252 Spe, 6 HP
Dragon Pulse
Hydro Pump
FlameThrower
Draco Meteor

A choice specs Special Sweeper. It can use "Hit and Run", using Draco Meteor and then switching out.

dpmfa409.png

Rampardos @ Choice Scarf
Jolly
EV's: 252 Atk, 252 Spe, 6 SpD
Pursuit
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Zen Headbutt

A physical sweeper. Pursuit is to catch Pokemon switching out, Earthquake is just a good move, Stone Edge for STAB, and Zen Headbutt is pretty much just a filler move.

dpmfa068.png

Machamp @ Life Orb
Adamant
EV's: 252 Atk, 252 HP, 6 Spe
Ice Punch
Rest
Sleep Talk
Cross Chop

A powerful rest talker. Life Orb, even though it takes health away, makes it more powerful. It can use Rest when it's HP gets low anyway.

dpmfa205.png

Foretress @ Shed Shell
Relaxed
EV's: 252 HP, 162 Atk, 96 Def
Spikes
Rapid Spin
Explosion
Gyro Ball

A spiker and spinner that can take hits, along with a good move, Gyro Ball, and it can use Explosion when it is done.

dpmfa477.png

Dusknoir @ Leftovers
Impish
EV's: 252 HP, 252 Def, 6 SpD
Fire Punch
Thunder Punch
WilloWisp
Pain Split

A great physical tank/wall. Fire and Thunder Punch are good moves that can put good damage depending on the opponent, Willowisp to burn with good accuracy, and Pain Split to equal damage out and hopefully, give Dusknoir more HP and the opponent less.

Mantine @ Shell Bell
Calm
EV's: 252 SpD, 252 HP, 6 Spe
Surf
Ice Beam
Toxic
Hidden Power Flying

A decent special wall. Don't tell me to use Blissey. I just hate it.
Surf is a great STAB move for Mantine. Also, I didn't use Leftovers, the standard for Mantine, because most battles/tournaments don't allow two of the same item. That's also sort of why I chose Life Orb for Machamp, since I felt Dusknoir needed Leftovers most. So I used Shell Bell on Mantine, which is pretty much just one step down, but not bad. Not even going to go over the rest of this moveset, since it is pretty obvious...

Yes, this is my first ever competitive team. So please give suggestions. Don't say "Use Skarmbliss". Im not using either of them. They are way too overused and I want some variety, not the Pokemon 50% of people use.

x4 electric weak on a special wall is pretty inconvenient. I suggest a light screen special defensive Zapdos or a special defensive Cresselia over Mantine. Blissey is a viable option, probably the best given one slot for a special defense. Avoid placing illogical limitations upon yourself. Stealth rock is something that is great on every team, consider it on forretress, probably over explosion, could go over earthquake but that leaves you a bit vulnerable to taunt.

Another issue is you seem to try to do too much with this team, you've got a spiker with no phazer, some bulk but not enough to really stall, some sweeping power but nothing to really clean up. There is little synergy here to be honest, try using pokemon that complement each other and cover weaknesses of your team.

As for issues of countering stuff, you will see problems with boltbeamers using an x4 electric weak special wall. Garchomp pretty much decimates this team after setup, nothing you have will survive a hit and nothing you have can outspeed and OHKO, Rampardos will outspeed but won't do enough damage by a longshot, everything else is outsped and one hit killed by standard outrage/fire fang/earthquake.

As for item clause, it's really not all that common on Smogon, keep it in mind and get ahold of some spare leftovers for non item claused battles.

X1NF1D3L- I gave it Gyro ball.

Kietharr- Yeah, I think I'm going to stick with Mantine. I don't have a Zapdos, or Fire Red or Leaf Green, so that is out of reach. And my Cresselia has a crappy nature. Still not doing Blissey. XD Its not that I completely hate it. I just like having a Pokemon on my team that not everyone else uses. I'll train a Blissey, but it's not going on my team. Just a backup in case im going against someone real good. As for Stealth Rock, isn't it similar to Spikes? Because both those moves on a Forretress doesn't make much sense to me. Or can they overlap each other to do even more damage?

You can suggest any Pokemon for the team, I don't care about replacing. Don't suggest any legendaries because all the ones I have, have crap natures and they are from the 3rd Gen games, where I didn't care about EV's, and fought random Pokemon...And I sold all my GBA games.

In fact, tonight, I am going to start training a Garchomp and Blissey.

Stealth Rock does overlap with Spikes, and it has quite a few differences. You can't really get around D/P without knowing about it! ;) Go here for a quick read. With that, I agree with Kietharr that it is a move you should probably have. There is nothing wrong with having both on a pokemon like Forretress.

Also, knowing this is a Wi-fi team does give it a few restrictions. This is by no means a definite suggestion, but you can look into Slowking if you are searching for a non-Blissey Special Sponge to replace Mantine. No 4x electric weakness, no Stealth Rock weak, instant recovery move in Slack Off... Blissey is still the best, but if Mantine is not working you can give Slowking a shot.

Ah, I'll train a Slowking then. Thanks for the suggestions, guys.
Also, could someone suggest a good Physical Sweeper besides Rampardos? He doesn't seem to be very good, and he sucks when I battle people on Shoddy. If possible, suggest a sweeper that doesn't use a Choice item? I really hate those items. XD
