Crobat (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 104 HP/152 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Brave Bird
- Taunt
- Roost
- U-turn
Starter. He's fast enough to outspeed most starters outside Scarf Leads. He sports Inner Focus, which is a big advantage against Fake Out leads, which are obviously abundant. Brave Bird puts a nice dent in most starters, and U-Turn obviously serves as a back up. I usually find myself U-Turning into Vaporeon, I'm not sure if this can provide any strategical ideas for you all. I taunt anything (first) that I'm scared/curious of, or at least anything that I don't think is going to kill me. Roost is obvious.
Togekiss (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP/4 Def/252 Spd
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Air Slash
- Aura Sphere
- Fire Blast
- Trick
Really successful Pokemon, though I'm not exactly sure if this is the best thing for the team. I find that I don't use it as much as I would like to, generally because of situational issues. It seems self-explanatory as far as a move-set goes, but I may consider de-Scarfing it or possibly looking for other suggestions.
Azelf @ Expert Belt
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Nasty Plot
- Psychic
- Flamethrower
- Grass Knot
I love this guy. People really underestimate how much damage one attack from him can do, even unboosted. I usually come in on something on the slower side that is trying to set up (Skarmory, etc) and predict the switch. The only problem sometimes comes with the Speed issue, as the opponent will often switch to something faster, or a Pursuit user. I find that Azelf works better once I take out my opponents Pursuit(er) and/or sweeper in the late-game. It is, however, fun to predict a Pursuit from a CB Tyranitar and make him eat a +2 Grass Knot.
Mamoswine (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Stone Edge
- Superpower
He kills so much. It's great. Self-explanatory I guess. Open to suggestions, but Ice Shard is incredible for cleaning up late game, and the type coverage here is quite strong.
Metagross @ Life Orb
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 112 HP/252 Atk/12 Def/132 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Agility
It's almost too easy to switch this guy in. Getting an Agility off is the first thing I try to do, unless of course I'm predicting a switch into something that I could kill too easily with one of the first two attacks. After Agility, no matter what they switch into, I'm (almost) guaranteed at least one kill, assuming I'm prepared to use Explosion.
Vaporeon (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 188 HP/252 Def/68 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Wish
- Protect
Incredible Pokemon. Water Absorb creates excellent healing and switch-in opportunites. Protect is great here. I really use it for scouting opponent's moves, making their Sandstorms work against them, and the obvious advantage for the instant Wish-recovery. I've considered getting rid of Ice Beam, but I'd miss it too much, as I use it really often when predicting the switch into Trace Pokemon or other Water Absorbers. It also really helps against Gyarados immensely.
