My first decent(?) UU team.

I've gotten to 1411 so far using this team, but I'm kind of apprehensive about moving forward until I get some feedback. Gen 6 is the first time I've really given competitive a shot (played all the games since Red but never tried competitive), so I'm a newbie to say the least, and I'm positive my examples of specific situations are only from my experience low on the ladder.

Big Largehuge (Blissey) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Wish
- Thunder Wave
- Heal Bell
- Seismic Toss

The default special wall/cleric. I've had many good battles where I was able to default back to Blissey when something would otherwise threaten to KO my other mons. Thunder Wave for crippling physical attackers that switch into Blissey expecting a free kill. Everything else is self-evident.

Bob Johnson (Gligar) @ Eviolite
Ability: Hyper Cutter
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Defog
- Roost
- Earthquake

My physical wall/hazards guy. Takes very little damage from most of the heavy hitters in UU, but is serious Knock off bait. I put him in instead of Swampert since my team before this revision had a serious weakness to SR and Sticky Web. Maybe it's because I'm still low on the ladder, but people underestimate just how easily he brushes physical hits off and roosts the damage away.

Stump Chunkman (Victini) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- V-create
- Bolt Strike
- U-turn
- Zen Headbutt

The muscle. It truly lives up to its V for victory design as it is my most common win condition and my favorite mon to use on the team. V-Create, Bolt Strike, and U-turn are obvious, but the fourth slot is one I've wrestled with a bit. I originally had Grass Knot to combat Swampert and the like from getting an easy chance to pivot, but I never found it to be as useful as Zen Headbutt's decent no-downsides neutral STAB for cleaning up late game. I'm open to suggestions, obviously.

Crush Manjaw (Aerodactyl) @ Aerodactylite
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Taunt
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Crunch

I use him mainly as an anti-lead to take care of Azelf leads that seemed to be so common (and even more common without attacks other than Explosion), and also to possibly take out Infernapes that think they can muscle past with Close Combat. This slot was originally taken up by LO Noivern, but I wasn't feeling it since it couldn't score the same KOs that Megadactyl can. Crunch is another move I want to think about replacing as it seems rather pointless.

407.gif

Reef Blastbrow (Roserade) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk
Modest Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Sleep Powder

I really like bulky Roserade for its staying power with Giga Drain. I replaced Natural Cure with Technician for more potent Hidden Powers. I figure that the only really bad status it can get hit with is Paralysis (since I wouldn't stay in to get frozen by anything), and having Blissey on the team to cure ailments when necessary leaves Technician a good choice.

Bolt Vanderhuge (Raikou) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Extrasensory
- Hidden Power [Ice]

The last slot is one that I feel like swapping around every now and then, but I've stuck with Specs Raikou for longer than any of my other choices. I don't have much to say on it to be honest. I like Raikou and it seems to fit well.

If there's anything I want advice on, it's a possible replacement for Gligar. I don't have any mon that I really want to get hit with a knock off, and while there are a few mons in the tier that can spin and set up hazards, none of them feel bulky enough for me to bother using them over Gligar. Maybe I'm missing a potential combo that would suit my team?

Thanks in advance for any feedback, and kudos to anyone who gets the nicknames.

Hey, this team seems pretty cool. I have some suggestions though;

Blissey should be running 252 HP / 252 Def / 4Sdef instead of the spread you're running, as it gives it more overall bulk and increases the amount of HP your wishes have if you're passing it to another mon like Raikou.

You could try Toxic over Thunder Wave on Blissey, as it makes Blissey a good lure to bulky waters like Slowbro and Swampert, as well as Hippowdon.

Stealth Rock + Defog seems really redundant on Gligar, and it kinda makes you setup bait for a lot of sweepers. I'd suggest replacing either one (I'd personally go with Rocks as Defog is kind of necessary on Gligar) and put either Toxic or U-turn over it, and then put the move you replaced on Aerodactyl over Taunt.

Get rid of the full HP investment on Roserade and put it into Speed, so that you won't get outsped by common threats when trying to wallbreak / clean late game.

That's all I can really think of, if you plan to keep Taunt on Megadactyl then I'd suggest going 120 HP / 248 Atk / 140 Spe (i honestly forgot what this spread was for but it works pretty well so whatever).

I changed Blissey to the EV spread you suggested and it's working a bit better. I prefer TWave though to cripple threats on the switch though so I kept it over Toxic.

Toxic on Gligar has been a great change. Stealth Rock shifted over to Aerodactyl.

I'm not really sure what Roserade outspeeds with full investment which is why I went with 252 HP, since it helps Roserade take special hits better. I rarely, if ever, end up with Roserade as my win condition and end up using her early to mid game.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi, yamb.

This is a cool team, but you need to provide an importable before this gets locked by a Moderator. In the situation where it does get locked, you will need to PM them your new format with the importable and then they will unlock it.

Thanks.
