My First Ever team!

Ok my first team....rate please!it has won a lot...but maybe thats because i haven't challenged some pros yet.

Assasin/Weavile
Pressure
Expert Belt
4HP/252ATK/252SPEED
Jolly
-Aerial Ace
-Brick Break
-Ice Punch
-Night Slash

My starter. He sweeps AWESOME! Basically standard Weavile except AA over pursuit cos I like type coverage over the effect.

Sparky/Lanturn
Volt Absorb
Leftovers
40 HP / 192 SPA / 240 SPD / 36 SPEED
Calm
-Thunder Wave
-Thunderbolt
-Surf
-Ice Beam

Standard Special Sponge. Owns Suicune most importantly and counters skarm with TBolt. Plus it cripples with T Wave. Many people underestimate this little electric fishy.

Spooky/Gengar
Levitate
Life Orb
4 HP/ 252 SP ATK/ 252 SPEED
Modest
-Sludge Bomb
-Focus Blast
-Energy Ball
-Shadow Ball

My faster, more fragile Special Sweeper . He has a wide array of moves as well as providing protection against 3 types of attacks, most importantly EQ.

Nightguard/Gliscor
Sand Veil
Leftovers
252 HP/4 ATK/ 252 Def
Impish
-Knock Off
-Earthquake
-Aerial Ace
-Roost

My phys wall. Walls Hera like hell and other phys sweepers that dont pack an ice move. He also serves as an electric attack absorber and can counter back with EQ. Against grasses and hera, aerial ace will cane them. Knock off is always useful for removing lefties, choice items etc. roost is just there for survival.

Jetfire/Dragonite
Inner Focus
Choice Specs
4HP/252 SP ATK/ 252 SPEED
Timid
-Draco Meteor
-Dragon Pulse
-Surf
-Fire Blast/Focus Punch

My sturdier spec sweeper and surprising pokemon. Draggy with surf? Its for hippowdon's stone edge in case Nightguard's down. I choose between FB and FP depending on what i feel like and the other two are self explanatory.

Torpedo/Garchomp
Sand veil
Choice Band
16HP/ 252 ATK/ 240 SPEED
Adamant
-Fire Fang
-Crunch
-Dragon Claw
-Earthquake

My fav pokemon. Fire Fang is for bronzong and skarm, crunch for dusknoir and cressy while Dragon Claw is for dragons and other sweeping. Earthquake for Tyranitar and others that fear EQ. Outrage is out cos D Claw is a lot more reliable.

As you can see I like sweepers LOL. Anyway any suggestions will be gr8ly appreciated.SO...get rating!

A fast ice-type rips through this team.

Consider a move on Weavile that stops Forretress, it's a bitch for Weavile.

Lanturn is UU for a reason, it sucks. A Garchomp weakness absolutely ruins it, as well as a weakness to swampert, tangrowth, celebi, etc. I like Slowbro as a Sponge instead.

Gengar's moveset is awful, get rid of sludge bomb and energy ball for hypnosis and t-bolt.

You should try to think your teams out more, this gets raped in the standard metagame, as ice beam is abundant.

Since Weavile is your lead, I'd replace AA with Swords Dance and use Focus Sash as your item to increase its possibility of sweeping. You could also lead with your Gengar and give your Weavile Choice Band to make it a great revenge killer. But that's just my personal opinion and if you like it the way it is, by all means go for it.

I highly doubt Weavile is going to sweep ANY team from turn 1 with a Swords Dance. Especially since your sash is ruined by Tyranitar and Hippowdon leads. However, I do suggest replacing Aerial Ace with either Pursuit or Ice Shard, whichever you feel you need more.

Sludge bomb is absolutly atrocious on Gengar. Replace it with Shadow Ball, Hypnosis, HP Ice or Thunderbolt.

Outrage will 2HKO almost every Cresselia in the game on CB Chomp, there is NO reason to have Crunch. A SE Crunch is 160 BP, a STAB Outrage is 180 BP.

Oh, and you have 3 4x Ice weak pokemon. I would replace Dragonite, since Specs builds really aren't that great. If you want a different pokemon that's good with Specs, try out Infernape, Porygon-Z or Tinted Lense Yanmega.

Yeah, "Portugueze-Z" could do really good in this team. Dragonite is really cool, but the ice weaknesses will cause you some grief. Especially since Ice is spammed so much thanks to Garchomp (oh look, he's in ANOTHER team...)

So yeah, here's a few good Porygon-Z sets you should try out:

Agility Porygon-Z @ Life Orb
Modest Nature
252 Satk / 208 HP / 48 Spe

Adaptability OR Download

Agility
Tri Attack
Dark Pulse
Thunderbolt/Ice Beam/HP Fighting

Reaches 456 speed after one Agility, which outruns scarfchomp. More can be invested to outrun scarfed Gengar and friends. When the opponent's team is sufficiently weakened (ie, no blissey) you can get a clean, late game sweep.

Adaptability makes Tri Attack more powerful, but Download gives you a nice power boost if you get it in on the right pokemon. You'll have a nice 789 Satk to sweep with if you can snag the boost.

Nasty Plot Porygon-Z @ Life Orb
Timid Nature
6 HP / 252 Satk / 252 Spe

Adaptability OR Download

Nasty Plot
Tri Attack / Hyper Beam
Dark Pulse
HP Fighting/Ice Beam/Thunderbolt

The feared Nasty Plot Porygon-Z. After a nasty plot, anything with less than 306 Speed is basically screwed. Sweeps entire teams. Hyper Beam is worth a mention because it can OHKO Blissey with a Nasty Plot.

Adaptability is once again good for improving the power of Hyper Beam or Tri Attack. Without this boost, you won't OHKO Blissey, so no Hyper Beam if you choose Download.

Depending on how you play, you can fool the opponent into thinking Porygon-Z is scarfed by using Download. I do this all the time with mine, and sometimes I can squeeze in two plots; they switch something into a NVE move, and try and set-up on me while it seems I will switch. However, I nasty plot. Fearing a OHKO, they switch out, and I can either start attacking or Nasty Plot again. It's worked several times so far, but it's difficult to pull off.

Porygon-Z @ Choice Scarf
Timid Nature
6 HP / 252 Satk / 252 Spe

Download

Tri Attack
Ice Beam
Dark Pulse
Thunderbolt/HP Fighting

Outruns scarfchomp and OHKOs it. Basically revenge kills stuff. Late game you can attempt a sweep with Tri Attack. If you snag the download boost, you get 553 Satk, which is pretty good.

So yeah, anyways, Porygon-Z would add some much needed special attacking power to this team. It's difficult to get into play, so be careful. Oh yeah, get Pursuit on Weavile... it sucks without it.

Ehh take dragonite out. 3 x4 ice weaknesses really isn't good. I'm also sure you can find a better special sweeper than that, such as Calm Mind Espeon.
With this set, you can cover more types and handle threats like Swampert, Breloom, Infernape, and Rhyperior. Espeons amazing 130 Base Special attack is better than Dragonites base 100. Just be aware of physical attacks because Espeon's defense is rather low.

Espeon @ Leftovers
Timid Nature
Synchronize
6 HP / 252 SpAtt / 252 Speed
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- Calm Mind
- Grass Knot

How very sad that you feel this way about UU pokemon ... as this perspective will mean that you never get to use all sorts of fun and interesting pokemon.

Battlers like Bologo, Lee, -Cynthia, and to a much lesser extent, myself, have proven that UU pokemon can perform perfectly well in the OU metagame with the right build/support.

Using a Garchomp "weakness" to discredit Lanturn seems rather unfair, especially since one could make such a case about many BL and OU pokemon (Magnezone - Garchomp weakness don't use it), and Garchomp still has to be careful switching in for fear of ice beam, as does Tangrowth.

One suggestion I would make cks1109 would be to consider Discharge over Thunderbolt, and replacing T-Wave with Confuse Ray, to give you access to parafusion.

ok thx! I really apprecite the comments. The reason I like Lanturn is that it does gr8 with paralisis. He rips things like seepers apart with it. I might change Gengar and WILL change dragonite. What d you think will be good replacements?
