My first fully original that could use some help Urshifu-Pult-Hatterene core

Hi there this is a team I built to try to ladder again after I tanked pretty bad and accidentally cleared my data. Its kinda borderline HO ig but not really. It's gone through a few changes started as double dragons Dragapult and Kyurem because I love just running through things with draco meteor. Then it moved on to balance and then double fairy but all in all sputtered around 1300-1350. So lets get into it

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
IVs: 0 SpA
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- U-turn

Lead Lando-T yk how it is rocks and such. I actually don't end up using it as a lead much the rest of the team seems to maybe force out some unconventional leads from my opponent that the other members take care of. Its consistent and puts in a lot of work. Even without Atk investment Earthquake hits like a truck ofc. Leftovers bc...... idfk really i never got threatened enough for a sash and its some sort of longevity a i use it as a pivot sometimes which has been my favorite way to play it. Forcing openings to set up rocks and him them with toxic when its not expected its great. U-turn great move and felt best to close it out.

Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Choice Band
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
IVs: 0 SpA
- Surging Strikes
- Close Combat
- Aqua Jet
- Stone Edge

An urshifu absolutely love this pokemon. It's come in clutch so much and its great for applying pressure on alot of things to either force out or just deal with flat out. It's really a backbone of the team and i feel is a great addition. I started with protective pads to be able apply more pressure to things like Ferrorthorn or Garchomp but went through a few scenarios did some calcs and band came out on top. Stone edge is something I kinda just put in really. I usually only use Close Combat or Surging Strikes so pivoting with U-turn is something I never really used. Really thats replaceable with ab anything Stone Edge is just kinda there. Urshifu is part of the core I really feel so I wouldn't want to get rid of it.

Dragapult @ Choice Specs
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Shadow Ball
- Fire Blast
- Scald

Specsapult the intended star of the team this is so much fun and a complete powerhouse. Its great and is the second core member. I have scald in case i need to say a prayer and go for a burn or something only happened once though. It's also a huge out to some walls like Toxapex, which the team is good against common walls so it's not needed just for a wall breaker but also helps alot. I really considered modest but its a bit overkill it hits what I need it to hit and out speeds whats needed.

Hatterene @ Kasib Berry
Ability: Magic Bounce
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 232 HP / 212 Def / 64 Spe
Bold Nature
- Psyshock
- Draining Kiss
- Nuzzle
- Calm Mind

For the last main member the anti-lead itself Hatterene. Its a physical wall I prefer over Clefable. The 64 speed is to just outpace things like toxapex and hippowdown psyshock destroys at only +2 minimum I believe. Nuzzle helps so much just to cripple things like Melmetal a huge threat to the team. The berry is just incase dragapult gets too crazy and all in all Hat is a great Dragapult check. Also thanks to psyshock Clefable can't just blindly set up without the threat of me setting up too. Also magic Bounce is just an insane check even to ferrorthorn and lets me piviot into something else to deal with it.

Zeraora @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Plasma Fists
- Play Rough
- Close Combat
- Knock Off

Zeraora is just great as well. I put it in because before the team struggled against Corviknght and Skarmory. Also again a Toxapex check (if you couldnt tell me and Toxapex have history but really who doesn't). Its also the speed control of the team and helps with any like extreme threats. Knock Off is works really well to just spam and it also just hits hard neutrally. I opted for Play Rough instead of volt switch just for that little extra coverage.

Tapu Lele @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Psychic
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball

Here's where I really feel I have problems. This right here is basically just a blank spot a place holder. I've gone through maybe 7 mons for this last slot and nothing stuck or melded with the team. This was orginally a kyurem for the double meteor wombo combo but that got outclassed by just bulk or anything faster it ofc hit really hard but just always seemed barely out of reach. I thought of maybe screens Koko but I didn't really need screens, I thought of a niche air balloon Excadrill for Lando leads but Hatterene scared them off. Now I'm kinda in purgatory with Lele. Im using modest instead of timid bc with moddest it's 433 and I feel thats all that's really needed. Outspead pult outspeads Zeraora and just dose its job. But idk i just don't like it without specs and it dies to so much without scarf. This i feel is the main hole in the team I just need something here.

All in all I'm really proud of this team. I feel its pretty good for my first and has some descent synergy and goes with my playstlye. I still dont know what to clasify it as tho its entirely HO or stall breaking or something but I still enjoy it. That last team slot is a huge problem though. And its not like its incounterable witout it, it ofc still has its weaknesses. Im open to really any kind of suggestions in any part of the team I really wanna take it far. Here's the paste if anyone wants it and also a pretty funny replay with it idk how to feel ab it. Thanks in advance for any help!

Hello Jaxly! I really love this team, and Dragapult + Urshifu surely is a great core to build around. Hatterene is also a very cool pick, and is a great mon imo. This team is mostly BO, or Bulky Offense (not HO or Hyper Offense) because it's not overly reliant on setting-up and 6-0ing your enemy afterwards.

Minor changes
- Minor EV / moveset changes
-changes in bold-

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 92 Spe
Impish Nature

- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Toxic
This spread is able to sponge hits from a great deal of physical attackers, namely Hawlucha, Garchomp, Excadrill, Zeraora, and other Landorus-Therian while still being able to outspeed Bisharp, Heatran, Magnezone (and other max speed base 60s).

:ss/zeraora: :heavy duty boots:
Zeraora @ Heavy-Duty Boots

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Dragapult @ Choice Specs

Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Choice Band

Jolly Nature
IVs: 0 SpA
- Surging Strikes
- Close Combat
- Aqua Jet
- U-turn
All 3 of these minor changes involve U-turn and Volt Switch. I’m sure that this team would make a great volt-turn team, and I highly suggest making the change. U-turn, Volt Switch, Flip Turn, and Teleport are all moves that generate lots of momentum, and consequently, a volt-turn team would be able to generate lots and lots of momentum. Additionally, volt-turn cores or teams are able to wear down most bulky and balance teams due to the repeated usage of the moves U-turn and Volt Switch.
tl;dr: volt turn is fun and destroys stall and bulky teams ;)

Major changes
:ss/corviknight: :rocky helmet: > :ss/tapu lele: :choice scarf:

Due to having 2 Psychic-Fairy types, Tapu Lele is kind of redundant. This team lacks a defogger, a good check to Rillaboom, Kartana, Landorus-T, Garchomp, and to some extent, Bisharp, so I highly suggest using Corviknight instead of Tapu Lele. Additionally, Corviknight also functions as a decent check to Dragapult (not really actually) and Tapu Lele.

That’s all of the changes I made, and this is the team:

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 92 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Toxic

Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Choice Band
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
IVs: 0 SpA
- Surging Strikes
- Close Combat
- Aqua Jet
- U-turn

Dragapult @ Choice Specs
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Shadow Ball
- Fire Blast / Flamethrower / Hex
- U-turn

Hatterene @ Kasib Berry
Ability: Magic Bounce
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 232 HP / 212 Def / 64 Spe
Bold Nature
- Psyshock
- Draining Kiss
- Nuzzle
- Calm Mind

Zeraora @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Plasma Fists
- Volt Switch
- Close Combat
- Knock Off

Corviknight @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 SpD
Impish Nature

- U-turn
- Defog

p.s. watch out for Tapu Lele and Dragapult, make sure to scout for choice scarf and knock it off so zeraora can easily revenge kill them :)

Hope I helped, have a great day/night, and have fun laddering!:blobwizard:
