My first NU RMT.

I dont know very much about NU yet, but this team wins almost all my battles. Not much strategy, i suppose it is closer to offensive then defensive, but by no means Hyper Offense. im sorry some of my pokes dont have very much explination, i dunno all the threats of NU yet so its hard to find much to talk about.

Sawsbuck (F) @ Choice Band
Trait: Sap Sipper
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Double-Edge
- Horn Leech
- Nature Power
- Wild Charge

This guy hits like a TRUCK. he is great in NU because of all the Amoonguss. Sap Sipper absorbs Spore and gives him a stat boost which is nice. not very much to say, a fine late game sweeper.

Amoonguss (M) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Regenerator
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Synthesis

A standard Amoonguss, a nice fighting type sponge. Spore of course cripples at least one poke on my opponents team for a few terns, he last for a long time with Synthesis.

Braviary (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Return
- Superpower
- Rock Slide

My Revenge Killer, this thing hits fast, outspeeding everything with brave bird. He really doesnt do anything but slam pokes and leaves.

Samurott (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 200 SAtk / 56 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Aqua Jet

I LOVE Water Types, and i LOVE Hydro Pump. No matter what tier i always go for the bulky water types. they just rock (Rotom-W Nuff said). Im still not sure about the Life Orb, thinking about using the Water Gem. HP Grass and Ice Beam is for coverage. i might wanna move some of those Spd points to something else.
pokemon_623___golurk_by_filecreation-d480vcr.png

Golurk @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Fist
EVs: 172 HP / 230 Atk / 22 Def / 84 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Shadow Punch

My least liked one of the bunch, all he can really do is Stealth Rock. i suppose he is good against birds. he has a little Spd so he can outrun slow people.
persian.png

Persian (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Technician
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Water Pulse
- Swift
- Thunderbolt

The MVP and Lead of my team, this guy ROCKS! Everyone keeps switching to Golurk who is weak to water pulse or Haunter who is fragile as hell. He does need a nasty plot to sweep efficiently, which is why he has a ficus band.

So what do you guys think? Im Lad Russo 1 on Showdown.

choice band sawsbuck / amoonguss / choice scarf braviary / samurott / golurk / nasty plot persian

from the looks of it, you do not have a clear focus with this team, nor do you have it suited to handle the current metagame right now. while you do give things like ludicolo a hard time to come in safely and start firing off attacks, you are incredibly weak to it should it force out and set up rain dance on your samurott or golurk. i feel like most weather-based teams, such as the very-recent hail, or standalone weather sweepers, such as the ludicolo i mentioned, are the most problematic since they can heavily pressure you. lastly, you have weak checks flying-types that require sacrificing something to get them in safely.

firstly, i think that persian is the weakest link on your team. it doesn't really offer much to the team since it's rather weak without setup. regice would be a catch-all check to some of the threats in hail and rain that i mentioned. ice-types can hardly touch regice while it can just rest off damage and wear them down, whereas offensive ludicolo takes around 50% from ice beam and can only hope to do the same back under rain.

next, i would try out carracosta over samurott. you already have a powerful wallbreaker in sawsbuck, and i feel like having something to set up such as carracosta can grant you a possible win condition to aim for in every match (one more reliable than persian at least). carracosta also acts as your primary flying-type check while keeping some neat STAB water-type attacks. it also has the potential to threaten many ice-types such as opposing regice with stone edge.

for minor fixes, i suggest you use a spread of 92 hp / 252 atk / 184 spe on golurk to get the jump on minimum speed garbodor (you can speed creep as you see fit). if you don't like the loss in bulk, then you can use your current spread but with the defense EVs put into attack. that investment in defense is rather useless and i don't see what it helps you against. i would also use u-turn over rock slide on braviary. rock slide does not provide any significant coverage since whatever is weak to rock slide is most likely hit hard by another one of braviary's attacks. u-turn can help you gain momentum when you are sure the opponent is going to switch to a more certain answer, and it works well with the fact that braviary is a scarf user.
