Ok, so this is technically my second team, some of it is the same as the first version but there have also been many changes. I only just completed this team today and thus have only battled with it a couple if times. It seems to work well so far.
Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 Sp Atk/252 Spd/4 HP
IVs: 31/xx/31/31/31/31
Nature: Timid
- Air Slash
- Focus Blast
- Flamethrower
- Solar Beam
My MegaZard Y special sweeper makes it's triumphant return in the 2.0 version of my team, Air Slash and Flamethrower benefit from STAB bonus and single turn Solar Beam hurts Water and Rock types that would otherwise cause it trouble or force a switch. Focus Blast is mainly there for coverage and to deal with Normal type walls.
Garchomp @ Life Orb
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/4 HP
IVs: 31/31/31/xx/31/31
Nature: Jolly
- Dragon Claw
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
The physical sweeper, Garchomp is fast and hits like a truck, especially after a Swords Dance and Life Orb bonus. Dragon Claw and Earthquake provide excellent damage potential after STAB and Stone Edge deals with any Flying types that Earthquake can't get at. Arguably the most dangerous member of the team from a pure damage output perspective.
Galvantula @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 Sp. Atk/252 Spd/4 HP
IVs: 31/xx/31/31/31/31
Nature: Timid
- Bug Buzz
- Sticky Web
- Energy Ball
- Thunder
I debated over putting Galvantula on the team for a long time, and ultimately the lure of this bugs speed and potential attacking power coupled with access to Sticky Web was too much to pass up. Galvantula gets good STAB from Bug Buzz and Thunder while Energy Ball helps with Ground types that I otherwise don't have many answer for on my team. Sticky Web is just the icing on the cake, allowing me a chance to slow down every grounded enemy that switches in allowing me to strike first 90% of the time is a huge blessing and having 100 point accuracy on Thunder due to Compound Eyes somewhat makes up for a slightly lower attack stat. Focus Sash allows me a chance to set up Sticky Web and get at least one attack off before Galvantula gets taken down and I've found Thunder to be a great counter to MegaZardY.
Tyranitar @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 Sp. Def
IVs: 31/31/31/31/31/xx
Nature: Brave
- Payback
- Fire Blast
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
With Sand Stream and Assault Vest adding considerable special bulk, enough to survive a Focus Blast if need be. Tyranitar is a defensive beast even able to survive an Earthquake with it's still respectible physical bulk even without EVs. Crunch and Stone Edge get STAB and with Fire Blast and Earthquake in there for coverage, this beast can still deal out some serious damage after it's done soaking up it's beatings.
Aegislash @ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 Def
IVs: 31/31/31/xx/31/xx
Nature: Brave
-Shadow Sneak
-Swords Dance
-King's Shield
-Sacred Sword
Aegislash is a new addition to the team, acting as a spin blocker and both attacker and wall. Leftovers allows me to abuse being able to use King's Shield every second turn to recover health and with such high defenses Aegislash gets plenty of opportunities to use Swords Dance to boost it's damage potential. Shadow Sneak gets STAB and priority while Sacred Sword was a tough pick over Iron Head but the extra coverage justifies the loss of some power, especially with such easy access to SD.
Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 136 HP/252 Atk/120 Spd
IVs: 31/31/31/xx/31/31
Nature: Adamant
-Rock Slide
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Rapid Spin
Excadrill brings an excellent spinner to the team to remove SR that threaten MegaZardY all while being able to do huge damage to opponents with Rock/Ground coverage and SD, although I plan on changing that to Stealth Rock once we get tutors. Mold Breaker allows me to hit levitate users with Earthquake. Excadrill's high attack allows one or two shot KOs to common spin blockers Gengar, Aegislash and Jellicent, leaving only Trevnant and Gourgeist as genuine spin blockers to worry about. 120 speed EVs seems strange with only 88 base speed but with Sticky Web support, that is enough to out speed up to max investment base 115 speed tier Pokemon leaving only fliers and levitate users as potential quicker threats.
