My First OU team (Just my faves)

Hi everyone, this is my OU team that i'm currently using in Pokemon Showdown, and it's my first OU team. It's nothing special, just some of the good set-ups on my favourite pokemon, altough I have surprisingly won around 50% of the matches. (I dunno lol.)

Here is my amazing team:

Froslass @ Leftovers
Trait: Cursed Body
EVs: 248 HP / 84 Def / 176 Spd
Timid Nature
- Spikes
- Taunt
- Ice Beam
- Pain Split

My opening Pokemon will taunt, usually first, halting all slower set-ups for the time being. Spike as much as I can, and using taunt on all switch-ins that likely have no type advantage over Froslass. If I'm lucky, the combo of taunt and her ability, Cursed Body, will render the opposing set-up moveless and be forced to switch in on spikes, or use struggle. Rapid spin is ineffective due to Ghost type, and Ice Beam is just for general damage to grass and ground walls. Pain split is for high hp switch-ins. After faint, if there's a rapid spinner on their team, I'll switch to Zoroark ready to u-turn out to Gengar (if the rapid spinner isn't already out, or if it's Forretress).

Zoroark @ Leftovers
Trait: Illusion
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Night Daze (might change to Sucker Punch, what do you think?)
- Flamethrower
- U-turn
- Hidden Power [Flying]

First disguised as Gengar, usually switch in after Froslass, ready to u-turn. If it's Forretress or Ferrothorn I'm up against; flamethrower. If it's Starmie or something else strong, then I U-turn to Gengar to sweep or 2HKO usually (but then the jig is up). HP Flying is used to cover the two Dark weaknesses, Fighting and Bug. As the opponents think they're up against Gengar, they won't use Fighting/Bug moves so I can sometimes KO with HP. Night Daze is for speedy Ghost switch-ins, who think they're Ghost stabbing Gengar, and used as a last resort to lower accuracy.

Starmie @ Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
- Recover

Just a general sweeper here that either functions quite well for the whole match, or is countered early. BoltBeam for massive coverage and STAB Hydro Pump can sweep almost all that don't resist. Add Recover and Starmie becomes a great mid-game sweeper due to its great Speed and high Special Attack, especially when boosted by Life Orb.

Haxorus @ Choice Band
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Spd / 4 HP / 252 Atk
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Brick Break
- Outrage
- Dragon Claw

648 Att sweeper; virtually everything gets at least 2HKOed by an appropriate attack. Bulky Physical walls don't pose much threat, and so this set is nearly uncounterable. EQ for steels and levitaters (Mold Breaker). Brick Break for steels that resist EQ (Ferrothorn), and dragon claw for general STAB without getting locked in. EV's maximise attack while outspeeding Dragonite, Rotom-W and Heatran. HP, just because Smogon says so.

Cloyster @ Leftovers
Trait: Skill Link
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Shell Smash
- Icicle Spear
- Rock Blast
- Hydro Pump

Skill Link = Amazing guranteed damage with Icicle Spear and Rock blast with OK coverage. Dragons OHKO'd no problem, and with one Shell Smash, can OHKO a fair few things that don't resist; Rock Blast is neutral damage against fire water and ice. Hydro Pump is for getting past Skarmory, Scizor, Forretress, and Metagross, since it hits their weaker Special Defense.

Gengar @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 Def
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Pain Split

My Fave Pokemon . Pain Split acts like a third attacking move capable of muscling through typical counters with massive HP stats such as Blissey, Chansey, and Snorlax. Furthermore, Pain Split works perfectly in conjunction with Substitute and Life Orb, and even benefits from the residual damage from sandstorm and hail. The closer Gengar's health bar gets to zero, the more HP Gengar can suck away from its opponents. Switching in on a switched in Blissey absorbs Toxic, and makes for an easy kill with SubSplit; Focus Blast, sometimes even without breaking the Substitute.

All words of wisdom greatly appreciated :)

Please elaborate more on your last four Pokemon's roles as they are not quite up to the RMT Forum standards.

I just have to say one thing... Tornadus T sweeps you...

Nothing in your team can take a stab Life orb hurricane with 115 sp. atk. from a Tornadus-T

Frosslass, Zoroark, Starmie, Gengar, Cloyster and Haxorus... none of them can outspeed Tornadus-T, he has 121 base speed and all your pokes are so frail (bad sp. defenses and hp).

Try to consider the threats in the metagame and add bulky pokes, not only attackers.
