ORAS OU My First OU Team (Mega-Gallade)

This is my first ORAS OU team so if you have any suggestions it would be very helpful. Thank You.

Galaxia (Gallade) @ Galladite
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Ice Punch
- Zen Headbutt

Gallade is my main late game sweeper for this team. Personally, I like to use him once his checks and counters (M-Slowbro M-Sableye any Fairy Type .I find it easier to set up Swords Dance once most of the pokemon he struggles against are gone. He can take care of most Dragon types with Ice Punch (With Sword Dance up). He also works great early game if the opponent lacks checks to Gallade.
------------------------------
Bisharp @ Black Glasses
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 52 SpD / 204 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Pursuit

Bisharp is used mainly as revenge killer on this team. He works great with M-Gallade as Bisharp deals with the Eon Duo (Gallade's special bulk means nothing to Latios's Draco Meteor) and M-Gallade takes Care of Most Fighting types (Breloom, Lucario, M-Lopunny, ect..). He can also hurt M-Metagross which most of my team fails to do. He also makes using Sticky Web, Intimidate, and Defog a liability for the opponent if he gets the stat drops from them.
----------------------------
Crobat @ Black Sludge
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 248 HP / 48 Def / 212 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Cross Poison
- Taunt
- Defog
- Roost

In every OU team I have ever made I have always struggled against the demonic nightmare known as Clefable. Now I have Crobat. Crobat's main function is to counter Clefable and remove entry hazards. His Poison/Flying typing works well with the Gallade/Bisharp Core as he covers Fairy, Ground, and is protected from Psychic by Bisharp. Thanks to his decent bulk and speed he can also counter Serperior and hit back hard with a Cross Poison.
-----------------------------
Garchomp @ Lum Berry
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Swords Dance

445.gif

What do I say about Garchomp? He has been the single most useful pokemon on this team. He has Crobat to cover his Fairy weakness, He can outspeed and KO most Dragons in OU, and for water types carrying Ice Beam he has Magnezone and Rotom-W. He can set up a Swords Dance on Will o' Wisp users and KO them with Outrage. For other times he can just set up Stealth Rocks and Earthquake Fairy types (+2 EarthQuake can OHKO Ch.Specks Sylveon). His Main weakness is the lack of Fire Blast but this is only useful hitting Scizor which Magnezone already does (+2 EarthQuake is a guaranteed 2-Hit KO on Ferrothorn)
---------------------------------
Magnezone @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt

Magnezone is a pokemon who keeps any Steel type (Who is not carrying a Shed Shell) from entering the Field. He is also a good lead as he can Volt Switch out of most bad situations. He functions mainly as a revenge killer and as a check to Scizor (any time Scizor KO's one of my pokemon he risks bringing out Magnezone). I have also found that Magnezone and Rotom-W have great synergy together as they both have access to Volt Switch and can take out pokemon the other struggles with. He also scares most entry hazard setters and removers from coming in with the exception of a few like Garchomp.
-------------------------------
Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

479-wash.gif

Rotom-W is the final member of the team and his here mainly to cover up a few of the problems other members have. He can Volt Switch into M-Gallade and Magnezone if the opponent decides at any time to switch into Ferrothorn to take a Burn and can use Pain Split to annoy Rest users like Snorlax. He can also neuter most Fighting types with a Burn allowing Gallade to get in and set up Swords Dance.

Hey, nice team you have here.

I am really liking the Crobat on the team. Nice job on that!

The only suggestion I have for this team is to change Magnezone to Choice Scarf Landorus-T. Magnezone's main role in the current OU metagame is to trap Steel-type Pokémon and clear them out for another team member. However, in this case, you don't really need that because the central Pokémon on your team, Mega Gallade, handles Steel-type 'mons just fine. I think Landorus-T would make a great replacement as it has superior typing and it is much faster. In addition, the Intimidate drop upon switch-in is very handy. It also fulfills your Volt-Turn core with Rotom-W so I don't think you're losing much with replacing Magnezone.

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off

This is a great team you have here. I hope that I have helped you. Good luck!

Hello buddy!

So with this team you are attempting to pass through your opponent's Gallade counters and accomplish a nice sweep with that Mega. Your main concern, as you already stated, are fairy types, Slowbro and Mega Sableye, so we'll try to pass through those threats while giving some solidity to your build. Let's begin!

First, let's talk about the big changes you'll have to do to, and then we'll make some quick fixes in the spreads of your remaining Pokemon to optimize their roles.

We're going to start off by removing that Crobat from the team, since it does not really do what it's meant to do (that is, full countering Clefable and other fairy types such as offensive Altaria, which automatically 6-0s your team), so if were you I'd definitely go with Bulk Up WoW Talonflame instead of him, which takes care of Faeries as well as serving as a win condition itself. It also gives you the resistances Crobat does, the possibility to spread some status and some overall special bulk, as well as a Mega Charizard Y counter, which is a major deal to your team atm. We'll fix the Defog issue in the next slow we'll cover. Here below I'll leave you the Talonflame set I encourage you to run:

Talonflame
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Acrobatics
- Roost
- Bulk Up
- Will-O-Wisp

This spread maximizes your bulk but it's speedy enough to wisp some relevant threats and even set up on them, so don't be afraid to use this late game if your main game plan fails for some reason.

Second, Magnezone simply does nothing to help your team, since Gallade takes care of those Steel Types helped by Rotom-W. This is why you can swap that for a Latios. Latios is able to Defog and hit very hard on the Special side, two things you really need atm. It also takes care of Keldeo and other Special Attacking threats that might be difficult to deal with during the game (such as the aforementioned Zard Y). This is the set you should go with:

Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Roost
- Defog

Now that we've changed some members, it's time to fix your EV spread and sets to get this working like a charm:

- Put 4 Defense EVs from HP onto Gallade. This helps you to take minimum damage from SR, which may help you in some punctual situations.

- I really don't get your Bisharp set, as another Sharps and base 70s will just outspeed you with that Speed you're running, while you don't really have the sufficient bulk to survive Latios and Latias STAB attacks. That's why you should Assault Vest>Blackglasses to have an unbreakable answer to those guys. This is the set you should try, which helps you live 2 Latios' HP Fires:

Bisharp @ Assault Vest
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 192 HP / 220 Atk / 96 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Pursuit

- Garchomp has to run its bulky set, since you are really in need of a Zard X, a Metagross and a Lopunny answer, among other things. The SD set is not really needed when you already run an SD Gallade and a BU Talonflame, so you if you go bulky Chomp you'll be insured against this physical threats. Here you have the set:

Soil (Garchomp) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 168 Def / 92 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Dragon Tail
- Fire Blast --> This can be Toxic if you don't feel stuff like Skarm, Scizor, and Ferrothorn are specially harmful, and helps you deal with defensive threats such as Hippo which hate to get poisoned. You can even go in hard with SD to surprise opposing Clefables and 2HKO them.
- Stealth Rock

- Finally you just need to change your Rotom-W spread to counter Azumarill better, and go with the classic XY/ORAS spread: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spe with a bold nature.

So this would be all for the rate. I wish I've helped to make your team a lot better with this fixes, and hope you enjoy using it out there. Greets!
