Anti-Lead: Aerodactyl
Ability: Pressure
Item: Focus Sash
Nature: Jolly
Ev's: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 Defense
-Fire Fang
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake
-Stealth Rock
Aerodactyl's main purpose is to kill the opponents lead Pokemon. Fire Fang is for lead's such as Bronzong, Metagross, etc. Stone Edge is a strong STAB move that can be used to down Ninetales and Gyarados. Earthquake is just a coverage move. I might replace it with something else. When Aerodactyl is about to die, I can set up my own Stealth Rocks. Focus Sash to let it survive atleast 1 hit from a Pokemon. The ev's maximize it's speed and attack so that it can outspeed many Pokemon and hit them hard.
Lead: Ferrothorn
Ability: Iron Barbs
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Impish
Ev's: 252 Hp, 88 Defense, 168 Special Defense
-Leech Seed
-Spikes
-Protect
-Power Whip
Ferrothorn is my second and actual lead. I have to 2 leads in this team so that the opponent won't easily predict who I am going to lead off with using team preview. It's nature and ev's maximize its bulk for it survive certain hits. Leech Seed and Leftovers give it a form of healing health. Ferrothorn is usually able to setup atleast 2 layers of spikes thanks to it's high defenses. Protect is to get some more health back from Leftovers and Leech Seed and can also be used to scout out what move the opponent is going to be using.
Physical Sweeper: Salamence
Ability: Intimidate
Item: Life Orb
Nature: Jolly
Ev's: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 Hp
-Outrage
-Dragon Dance
-Roost
-Earthquake
A classic Dragon Dance Salamence is my physical sweeper. I can bring it in on something that can hurt it or give it a status and then setup a Dragon Dance or 2 and than proceed to sweep with Outrage or Earthquake. Salamence will usually be used to for a late game sweep so that the confusion of Outrage doesn't affect it. Earthquake is move with good coverage. Roost is to heal damage that it might get due to attacks or confusion. I might replace it with Fire Blast though. Life Orb is used to increase the damage output. I was also thinking about replacing Life Orb with a Lum Berry in case its gets Paralyzed or Burnt.
Special Sweeper: Volcarona
Ability: Flame Body
Item: Life Orb
Nature: Timid
Ev's: 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed, 4 Special Defense
-Fiery Dance
-Quiver Dance
-Bug Buzz
-Hurricane
Volcarona is my special sweeper due do its excellent stats. This was also my favorite Pokemon of the 5th generation. Life Orb to boost attacks. The Ev's are to maximize Special Attack and Speed so that it can be speedy and hit hard. I chose Fiery Dance over Flamethrower and Fire Blast because of its 50% chance of raising your Special Attack by one stage. A +1 Fiery Dance is equal to Fire Blast but with more accuracy. Bug Buzz is a good STAB move that has very good coverage against many types. Quiver Dance is the main move of this Pokemon. If Volcarona is able to setup a Quiver Dance or 2, it can be really hard to take down. Hurricane is just a filler. It might come in handy against Fighting type Pokemon who carry Stone Edge.
Rapid Spinner: Starmie
Ability: Natural Cure
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Timid
Ev's: 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed, 4 Hp
-Rapid Spin
-Surf
-Thunderbolt
-Recover
I added Starmie as a Rapid Spinner because I need it to get Stealth Rocks and other entry hazards out of the way because they can really cause trouble. Volcarona especially is effected by Stealth Rock. Starmie also has some good resistances against certain types that cause some of my Pokemon trouble. It resist's both of Ferrothorn's weakness and it can cover for the Water weakness that Volcarona has. Leftovers is there so that it has a way of healing health every turn because I might need it to live for a long time in the battle. Surf and Thunderbolt are to hit a wide variety of Pokemon for lots of damage. Recover is there to heal large amounts of health if needed. The ev's and nature are for a basic special sweeper.
Mixed Wall: Bronzong
Ability: Levitate
Item: Light Clay
Nature: Relaxed
Ev's: 252 Hp, 160 Defense, 98 Special Defense
-Light Screen
-Reflect
-Gyro Ball
-Hypnosis
Bronzong is my mixed wall. It can set up Light Screen and Reflect to help the rest of my team. Gyro Ball is there in case it has to get some damage off or if it gets Taunted. Hypnosis is just a filler move that can really help if it hits.
Light Clay is to maximize the duration of the screens. The ev spread helps its durability so that it won't get taken out quickly.
I have used this team online and my record battling other people was 9-2. I know that this isn't really good measure on if my team is good but I thought I would just state it. This is my first serious competitive team. I decided to make one because I have seen people battle competitively and it looked fun. Any suggestions or advice are welcome because changes to it can still be made.
