Hey guys this is my first competitive OU team I've made and am looking for some suggestions on what can be changed. I'm down for almost any changes as this is my first OU team I've made and have been successful with.
Paco (Breloom) (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Technician
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Seed
- Swords Dance
- Spore
So this is my lead, I usually go for a spore to grab my near guaranteed swords dance. As most people switch a pokemon who's asleep. Or if i see they have a grass type I predict the switch and go for a swords dance while they switch. When my swords dance is up i can almost K.O. anything that doesnt have a resistance to fighting, grass, or is specially defensive.
Feaos (Charizard-Mega-Y) (M) @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Drought
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Flamethrower
- Focus Blast
- Solar Beam
- Roost/Dragon Pulse
Not much to say about this guy he's a special attack sweeper. Other than that I like to use him before I throw out Umbreon to get the sun boost for moonlight. I've tested and it seems roost can be viable but the problem is Charizard Y is so squishy that ive died after a roost. Any other suggestions on his fourth move would be great, I like dragon pulse but it usually doesn't quite hit as hard as I'd want it to on dragons.
Gryber (Excadrill) (M) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
Excadrill is my physical sweeper that is a bit bulkier and quicker than my Breloom. His movepool is designed to take out those pesky fairies and I've recently added rock slide to counter Talonflame and other Charizards, as they can wreck havoc on my team with their decent weakness to fire and flying. Mold Breaker and Balloon is certainly cookie cutter so i wont bother to explain it's usefulness :P
El Muerte (Gengar) (M) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SpA
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Bomb
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt
Similar to my Charizard Y, he is a quick special sweeper, but i designed his movepool to take out other ghost, psychic, water, and normal types Charizard didn't get to himself. With the ban of Mega-Gengar I decided to go with black sludge as I've seen a bit more people using Switcheroo like moves. Black sludge will just poison them which is quite humorous. Overall he's my Swiss Army knife Pokemon, he usually has a move to take out a Pokemon that the rest of my team can't
Emena (Umbreon) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef
Careful Nature
- Curse
- Foul Play
- Moonlight
- Heal Bell
I guess you would call Umbreon my multipurpose tank. She has foul play to take down buffed sweepers who are giving me problems, she has heal bell to heal her own status or any other pokemon in my party, and has some stalling capabilities. Heal bell is certainly useful since you can cure any sweepers who were poisoned or burned midway through their sweep. She may slow down my rather hasty team, but she's well worth it when she heals everyone and wares down the opposing team; usually by passing any status with synchronize. Also as stated earlier, she has good synergy with Charizard Y since moonlight gains a healing boost in the sun.
Scarlet (Latias) @ Wise Glasses
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Draco Meteor
- Defog
- Surf
I recently replaced my Scizor for Latias, and i have to say i'm liking the switch so far. Latias is my defogger and revenge killer. The main moves are Draco Meteor and Defog (obviously) and the rest i placed for mere coverage. Surf is there because i have no one on my team that has a move to counter fire who isn't susceptible to fire themselves (a.k.a Excadrill), so it's nice being able to take out a Charizard or Talonflame without taking enormous damage first. Psyschock is a STAB move that's useful in case Gengar is already dead or it's not safe to use him in the act of defeating a ghost type. Something you guys will find strange is the Wise Glasses, it's my first time using them. If you don't know it boost all SpA moves by 1.1. I originally chose life orb but the damage you take just doesn't feel worth it, besides, is that extra 0.2 of a boost of damage really worth it? Especially on a Latias more or less designed solely to disable entry hazards and screens, and kill dragons.
Thank you guys, any help would be much appreciated :)
