My first OU team

Foreword: I am still pretty fresh with Shoddy and competitive battling, and this is my first team. I've been doing pretty well with this, and would like to get it rated. There will be Team-building process after the inviduals are looked upon. Thank you.

In-Depth Look:

Heatran (M) @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Stealth Rock
- Earth Power
- Fire Blast
- Explosion

My lead, which works pretty nice for me. Throw up Stealth Rock, and attack. Explosion when I don't need him anymore, or if I got to take something down before they sweep my whole team. Shuca Berry to ensure that I survive the Earthquake that most people throw at this buddy, and Naive so I get more oomph into the boom.

Scizor (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 28 HP/252 Atk/228 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Swords Dance
- U-turn
- Roost/Brick Break

The main guy, Swords Dance and it's sweeping time. Roost to recover off Life Orb damage, and possible SR and spikes. Been thinking about Brick Break though, since I don't usually get time to Roost. Also I lack something with Fighting-type moves.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 136 HP/156 Def/216 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Recover

My Special sweeper, and counter to Infernape, Gyarados and most Dragons. Also the 1 I rely on in early-mid game sweeping, if I get the chance. EVs let me survive Gyarados Stone Edge, as explained by franky, and outspeed everything it has to
.

Magnezone @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Flash Cannon
- Explosion

My revenge-killer, works like a charm. Used first with Steel-killer set, but after someone recommended this set, I fell in love with it. If I can switch it in, on resisted attacks or similar, somebody gets hurt. usually he brings in the kills for me, though Scizor also gets his fair share of the opponents with his ability to finish of weakened folks.

dpffsa488.png

Cresselia (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Moonlight
- Reflect
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Wave

Just about perfect physical wall. Usually gets easy in when people try to EQ Heatran, and then it's time to shock some pokes. Very hard to take down, and also hits somewhat hard back. Especialy lovely to take down opposing Dragons with her. *coughSalamencecough*. Also helps keeping Blissey alive by taking physical hits aimed at her.

dpffa242.png

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def/80 SAtk/176 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Flamethrower
- Protect
- Toxic
- Wish

Maybe the most useful member of my team. I can always bring her in on something with special attacks, and then I just Wish-Toxic-Protect-stall the crap out of opposing team. Flamethrower to grill some Skarmorys who try to spike up along with her, and ofcourse to deepfry some greedy bugs :naughty:. She and Cresselia have actually saved my butt from a 2-3 situation with their attacks and toxic. works in a perfect unison, since what Cresselia can't take, she takes without breaking a sweat.

Gathering the Team:

dpmfa212.png

First up was this buddy, my personal favourite (I know, I know...). I decided to go with Swords Dance, since I don't like to be locked into 1 move very much. So he became my mid-lategame sweeper, and possible revenger, if I could OHKO with Bullet Punch. But Then I needed Something to take Fire hits.
dpmfa212.png
dpmfa230.png

It was there when this seahorse came in. 4x resistance on Fire-attacks, and STAB on Water and Oh-so-useful Dragon. And it helps that her only weakness is Dragon. After her, I decided my lead.

dpmfa230.png

I decided on heatran, for the fact that he is immune to Fire, which helps Scizor, and he's reasonably fast. Getting SR up on the first turn is really helpful. After him, I remembered that OU has a fair share of steels running around, and decided to get a way to remove them easy, and thus help out Kingdra a bit, so nothing resists her Dragon-moves.

First, I made him after the Steel-killer set, but switched him over to Scarfer when I found out he would contribute much more as a revenge-killer instead of just steels. When he was decided and done, I thought that I need some walls to stop the opposing sweepers.

And voilà, Dusknoir comes in. I didn't know any good physical walls to use at that time, so I decided to use him purely because of his massive base Defence and HP. He was also able to block Rapid Spinners from removing my SR, though it isn't so important. After him, I needed only a Special Wall.

"Somebody called?" I was first a bit repugnant on using her, but after a first few matches, I didn't look back. I fully understand why see is OU now, without her my team would have toppled like a cardhouse several times.

Ok, I fight my first match. I win. Then I go against another guy. Only reason that I didn't get 6-0d buy his DD-Gyara was that he thought it would have been boring, and finished me with a Suicune. I ask for help with my team, and he agreed. He suggested a SupportLia, so I got a Ground Immunity, and after a couple of battles with her, I kicked Dusknoir out of my team (btw, how do you kick a ghost?). Now my team works pretty much perfect, though there are a few threats I've found out of.

Threats:

Tyranitar and Tentacruel: I got no physical way to take these down, if my Scizor goes down earlier that supposed. Especially Tentacruels are big pains

Well, that pretty much sums it up. the rest I can work around usually. Oh, and if you wonder why no Flying types, I tried to avoid the pokes who are weak to Stealth Rock. My playing style varies a bit, usually offensive but backing up with Blissey and Cresselia if I have to.

Other Problems!

If my Scizor goes down earlier (forced out to beat/weaken something down) than expected, I am walled all day long by stuff with high special def, since I got 3 pokes with mainly special attacks, and only 1 of them can try to take down the wall (by going kaboom). but I don't know what to change now for something that can help me with that problem.

Problems:

@ post

How to fix:

Looking at your threat list right now, you could use a legit bulky water to brawl with both Infernape and Gyarados. This won't be a big change since your working around a Scizor sweep. DD Gyarados is no problem at all, I came assume you would Thunder Wave its ass and let your members finish it off, its Taunt Gyarados that would give you trouble. My simple solution to this is the addition of Starmie for Kingdra, since you mentioned that its your weakest link:

Starmie
@ Leftovers
Timid Nature (Spe+ / Atk-)
136 HP / 156 Def / 216 Spe

- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Recover

Now your looking at this right now, and your not familiar with the EV spread let me explain. Normally, this EV spread can contain all sorts of attacks from Gyarados with the exception of Stone Edge. Since Taunt Gyarados is a problem, this version invest less attack than the offensive version, therefore you can take any boosted hits from it and ko it with Thunderbolt and proceed to take your hp back with Recover. This guy also counters any sort of Infernape out there (except the non-existent Choice Scarf) and kills it with Surf. Now your wondering, no Rapid Spin? Well like you said your team is built for dodging entry hazards, its why you chose your pokemon. Ice Beam would prevent Salamence from setting up in front of your face. Overall this would benefit the squad more. If the game is almost done, this guy could serve as a Pursuit bait for Scizor, giving it one or two SD and sweeping the entire team once the counters are removed.

As for other options go, try: SD / X-Scizor / Bullet Punch / Brick Break on Scizor. Since its sweeping late, you'd want more power and coverage rather than healing it, you already have wish support. Other tips I could give you to remove Scizor's counters is using Surf on someone that has layed down multiple layers of spike, it hits Scarf Rotom off the bat and taking some of its hp away. Rotom would except Rapid Spin, but you can hurt it early in the match and have it eventually removed later. gl with this.

yeah, it's the Taunting Dancers that gets me. I edit that in.

and that Starmie looks interesting. I'll give it a spin (pun intended) and see how it works. I'll edit in later how it went.

EDIT: now I've tried the star, and it really became the Star of the show. it's a big help, since I can easily take care of Infernapes and Gyaras now.
