ORAS Ubers My First Proper Ubers Team (Mega Diancie/Ho-Oh Offense)

Recently, I've been trying to figure out which metagame suits me best, so I've been trying out a bunch of different tiers on Pokemon Showdown. I tried Ubers a few times in the past, but this is the first time I've really tried to learn the ins and outs of the tier. Here's my team.

Diancie-Mega @ Diancite
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
-Moonblast
-Diamond Storm
-Earth Power
-Protect
Since Diancie is one of the most viable Megas in Ubers, I decided to use it as one of the core members of my team. Diancie has maximum EVs in Special Attack and Speed in order to make it a better special sweeper, and 4 in Attack to give Diamond Storm more power. A its nature is there to give it more speed, and although it decreases Diamond Storm's damage, it can still KO most anything weak to it in the same number of hits as it would with a nature that doesn't touch speed. As for its moveset, Moonblast and Diamond Storm for STAB, Earth Power for coverage against Steel-types, and Protect keeps it from being hurt while it still has low Speed when it Mega-Evolves.

Ho-Oh @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
-Brave Bird
-Sacred Fire
-Recover
Thunder Wave
I made Ho-Oh the second half of the team's core because it does a great job of covering Diancie's weakness to Steel-types, and Diancie can bounce back Stealth Rocks once it Mega Evolves as well as beat any Electric-types that could hurt Ho-Oh with Earth Power. Ho-Oh has a Life Orb to maximize its damage output, and Regenerator to heal when it switches out, which it needs to do sometimes because of its Life Orb. It has 252 EVs in Attack and Speed to make it a better physical sweeper, and the rest in Special Defense for a little extra bulk. Its nature also increases damage output for its attacks. Brave Bird and Sacred Fire are used for STAB, Recover heals damage taken from Life Orb, and Thunder Wave cripples faster threats.

Zekrom @ Choice Band
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
-Bolt Strike
-Outrage
-Draco Meteor
-Volt Switch
Zekrom does a great job of taking care of the Water-type weakness shared by Diancie and Ho-Oh. Its Chocie Band, Adamant Nature, and 252 Attack EVs make its physical attacks do as much damage as possible. The 4 Special Attack EVs gives Draco Meteor and Volt Switch a little more power, and the rest of its EVs are poured into Speed to help it be faster than anything that could threaten it. Bolt Strike and Outrage are powerful STAB moves, and Draco Meteor can be used as an alternative to Outrage to give Zekrom the ability to switch out. Volt Switch helps it keep momentum going while doing damage.

Genesect @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Download
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
-U-Turn
-Iron Head
-Ice Beam
-Explosion
Genesect is a good revenge killer to add to the team that also gets STAB Iron Head, which takes care of Ho-Oh's Rock weakness and Zekrom's Ice weakness. Choice Scarf makes Genesect one of the fastest mons in the tier, along with 252 Speed EVs. It also has 252 EVs in Attack because most of its moves are physical attacks, and the remaining 4 EVs in Special Attack for more damage from Ice Beam. It's Naive Nature boosts Genesect's Speed even further, and is used over Hasty because most priority moves that can hit it are physical. U-Turn is a good STAB move that helps keep momentum going, and Iron Head is another decent STAB option. Ice Beam is good for hitting Ground, Dragon, and Flying-types, and Explosion can KO almost any threat, and is especially useful if Genesect is low on HP.

kyogre-primal.gif

Kyogre-Primal @ Blue Orb
Ability: Primordial Sea
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
-Calm Mind
-Origin Pulse
-Ice Beam
-Thunder
Since Primal Groudon usually has a way of dealing with everyone on the team so far, Primal Kyogre can be used as a good switch-in to it, completely negating its Fire-type moves as well as dealing x4 STAB damage to it (assuming it doesn't switch out and switch back in). Maximum Special Attack EVs and a plus Special Attack nature help it do as much damage as possible, while 252 Speed EVs help it speed tie with a neutral nature Primal Groudon. Calm Mind gives it more damage output and special bulk. Origin Pulse is a good STAB move, Ice Beam handles Latios and Latias and does decent damage to Primal Groudon if in Intense Sunlight, and Thunder handles Flying-types and other Primal Kyogres.

mewtwo.gif

Mewtwo @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
-Psystrike
-Focus Blast
-Shadow Ball
-Ice Beam
Last but not least, Mewtwo is here mostly for more coverage. Life Orb helps with more damage, and so does maximum Special Attack EVs. 252 Speed EVs and its nature help it outspeed most of the tier. Psystrike is a good STAB move, Focus Blast beats Dark-types like Darkrai, Shadow beats Mega Gengar, Giratina, and other Psychic-types, and Ice Beam hits Rayquaza, Mega Salamence, Latios, Latias, Lugia, Yveltal, and more.

That's it! Any feedback or constructive criticism would be appreciated!
