Hello people of smogon. I'd like to start off by saying that THIS IS NOT MY FIRST TIME BUILDING A TEAM!! I just needed advise if this was okay because I've never built a weather based team and my team accidentally started to gravitate towards a rain team. So..... Here's what I have so far and tell me what you think.

20140319092130!Greninja_XY.gif

Greninja @ Life Orb
Ability: Protean
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Hydro Pump
- Grass Knot
- Ice Beam

From what I hear this is the stereotypical Greninja and i think that it works well even on my team. For a start Hydro Pump hits with 100% accuracy in rain. Second, grass knot is there in case of the heavy weight Pokemon like Tyranitar and Aggron. Ice beam was originally not my idea, but was recommended. I originally was using Extrasensory. Lastly, H.P. fire is to cover my weakness to grass on turn one and to my weakness to ice when in grass type.
20140523162619!Goodra_XY.gif

Goodra @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Protect
- Thunder
- Sludge Bomb

This is my Spec. Def. wall and as far as i know the moves on it are self explanatory. Draco meteor is my one shot ko move. Protect is to .... *gasps* Protect. Thunder is for perfect accuracy in rain and to hit hard seeing as though spc. atk. is my second highest stat. Lastly, Sludge bomb is to cover my ars against fairies.
"Say hello to my little to my little friend!" -Some gangster movie.
Heliolisk.gif

Heliolisk @ Air Balloon
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def
- Thunder
- H.P. Psychic
- Protect
- Volt Switch

Thunder hits for 100% in rain so it's a no brainer. Protect is to protect :p. Volt Switch is my escape plan and H.P. psychic you ask? I ask you: Wynaut? LOL
Ludicolo_XY.gif

Ludicolo @ Splash Plate
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Giga Drain
- Protect
- Focus Blast

Meet the mighty Drunk Mexican Duck Wearing A Sombrero. It is my Sp. Atk. sweeper. Hydro Pump with boosted power from rain and perfect accuracy from it as well along with stab. Giga Drain is my stab move that also restores HP. Protect.... I'm not going to say it again. Focus Blast is my fighting move that hurts.
Toxicroak_XY_(2).gif

Toxicroak @ Expert Belt
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Sucker Punch
- Poison Jab
- Stone Edge

Now I kind of just went out on a limb to make Toxicroak if you have a better set tell me.
Politoed_BW.gif

Politoed @ Leftovers
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Protect
- Encore
- Scald
- Toxic

My first time using this to so... I had no idea what i was doing move set wise.

So please respond with contructive critisism. let me repeat that Constructive... Not BASH BASH BASH your team sucks, but constructive. Thank you and my chicken is done in the oven bye. Anyone want some?

Where to start, ummm....Big thing is that on a rain team you need a damp rock on your setters to ensure 8 turn rain. Politoed should also not have protect because protect simply wastes rain turns. Try something like ice beam or focus blast instead.

Toxicroak is not nearly as good as it was in gen 5 rain. If you did want to use one though, I would run this set
Toxicroak @ Black Sludge
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 244 HP / 132 Atk / 120 Def / 12 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- Substitute
It maximizes bulk and allows for toxicroak to actually make use of the rain. With manaphy running around though, I would recommend it over toxicroak as a bulky rain sweeper every day of the week.

For ludicolo, protect needs to go. You aren't toxic stalling anyone and you have limited rain to work with. Give it ice beam instead for coverage on grass types that typically can wall it. As for an item, ludicolo works best with a life orb in my experience.

The heliolisk set you posted is a bit random and honestly. Try running one with surf, thunder, hp ice, and volt switch with a life orb (the rain helps patch up any damage taken by the life orb).

If you want to use goodra in rain, you need to abuse it's ability Hydration to death. Give it rest instead of protect (rain is essential) and give it a move like dragon pulse instead of draco meteor since you want it as your wall and weakness policy is definitely not what I would recommend, but if you wish to use a weakness policy, then rest is even more essential.

Greninja is fine, but HP fire should probably be switched out for something cause rain. :p

You may also want to check out this guide http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/rain-in-ou.3502326/
It's very helpful and should give you ideas of possible substitutes for your team in the future. Anyway, good luck and #EnterTheNova

Sorry, it was long.

First thing that stands out to me is the lack of a Mega Pokemon. It isn't necessary but is HIGHLY recommended. Lots of Mega Pokemon work great on rain but the best are probably Mawile, Manectric, or Kangaskhan. Mawile is extremely powerful and could add a really bulky attacker to your fairly frail team.

Mawile @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate]
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 60 Atk / 44 Def / 140 SpD / 12 Spe
Careful Nature
- Play Rough
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Protect

Manectric has that 100% accurate Thunder that your using Heliolisk for as well as better coverage with HP Ice and Overheat. It also has Lightningrod before Mega Evolving to attract electric attacks and Intimidate after to help against physical attackers.

Manectric @ Manectite
Ability: Lightningrod
Level: 50
EVs: 20 HP / 252 SpA / 236 Spe
IVs: 2 Atk
Timid Nature
- Thunder
- Volt Switch / Overheat
- Hidden Power Ice
- Protect

Finally, Kangaskhan. I guess it doesn't need much explanation. It's Kangaskhan.

Kangaskhan @ Kangaskhanite
Ability: Scrappy
Level: 50
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Return / Double-Edge
- Power-Up Punch
- Sucker Punch
- Fake Out / Protect

Also, Greninja, Heliolisk, and Toxicroak have to go. They may seem good, but they really aren't worth it in VGC. They are too frail. Greninja should become Hydreigon or Salamence, and Heliolisk should become Rotom-Wash. Put a Mega in place of Toxicroak.

Hydreigon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
Level: 50
EVs: 84 HP / 12 Def / 236 SpA / 4 SpD 172 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power

OR

Salamence @ Choice Specs
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 50
EVs: 100 HP / 252 SpA / 156 Spe
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dragon Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Hydro Pump / Rock Slide

Rotom-Wash @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Levitate
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 44 Def / 76 SpA / 132 SpD / 4 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Calm Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Protect

Lastly just some small changes.

Helping Hand > Toxic on Politoed

Life Orb > Splash Plate on Ludicolo

Fire Blast > Sludge Bomb on Goodra

Ice Beam > Protect on Goodra

To the guy above, this is VGC....

How did I miss that this was VGC? XD

you need to expand on your descriptions as required in the rmt rules, and note that saying "x move has y effect" doesn't really say anything about why something was chosen on a set. there isn't really an excuse to not have at least a decent amount of description because even if you aren't sure about a pokemon, there must be a reason why you chose it and the moves in its set, especially if you tried the team several times

i would like you to update your rmt within a day

I'm sorry I didn't know it's been about 6 months or so since I last tried to use this I'll update it later when out of school.
