Hey all, so I didn't make this team it's a collage of various teams I found online. Anyways, I was reluctant to have a rain team at first and I still am, I ALWAYS get swept by them but using a rain team is actually quite tricky in the three times I've tried it so far.
Pelipper @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Defog
- Roost
- Scald
- U-turn
Standard rain setter. Now because I over-think everything, I'm reluctant to always (if ever) send him out first because that's predictable, meaning I lead with:
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 124 Def / 4 SpA / 128 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Earthquake
- Weather Ball
- U-turn
- Knock Off
He's also pretty standard, with the addition of weather ball he's more effective in rain but honestly I only added him to my team cause a team without a Lando is like leaving home with no phone (rhyme not intended)
Zapdos @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Static
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
- Thunder
- Hurricane
- Weather Ball
- Roost
Now, I just love Zapdos, and never having much luck outside of rain made me very excited to FINALLY be able to use him.
Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Choice Band
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Surging Strikes
- Close Combat
- U-turn
- Aqua Jet
I chose Urshifu over that propeller fish thing cause I dislike the frailty of Barreskewda also I barely know how to use it so stick with watcha know, y'know.
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave
- Body Press
- Knock Off
I really like Ferro, his glaring fire weakness is halved now making him live longer, have nothing else to say on the matter.
Thundurus-Therian (M) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Focus Blast
- Thunder
- Weather Ball
This guy is new for me too, he isn't in OU meaning I rarely use or encounter them, this guy I did actually just find online from PokeaimMD in his most recent video.
Anyways, along with some tips on the Pokemon themselves, I guess I'm more asking for strategic guidance...who and how to lead, set the rain, who to u-turn into, who to sweep with etc etc...I mean obviously I should practice by having battles but I've lost so many battles thus far in my time on showdown that I think another loss will push me over the edge. I'm clutching to straws at Pokemon being the only thing I'm vaguely good at but Showdown is taking away that last slither of light from my life...
I digress. Thanks for reading and any suggestions you provide, I really do appreciate the time it takes to reply but it'll help me out a lot.
Take care :)
