XY OU My first real XY OU team

So, my Pokemon X stopped working and with that my desire for competitive battle has been crushed. So, instead of never playing pokemon until the seventh generation comes out, I decided to just buy Pokemon Y and make ONE decent team and never put in the work to make another pokemon outside of the six on that team ever again. Naturally, I went to showdown to try and work out the kinks before I make it. I've been using this team for about two weeks now, and for the past few days I've been able to stay in the 1400ish rating area on Showdown. This is my first RMT since I think RSE so bear with me.

The only thing I knew when I started making this team is that I wanted to have Mega Charizard Y on it. I never was able to have one because no one would trade me their Y stone, but now that I have Pokemon Y, that isn't the case anymore. Aside from that, any "synergy" I have was solely based on me browsing various Team Options sections in the competitive dex that Smogon has.

Shuckle (M) @ Mental Herb
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Sticky Web
- Stealth Rock
- Encore
- Knock Off

With Shuckle as a lead, most of the time I'm able to get a sticky web and a Stealth Rock out. When I don't get both, I at least get a Sticky Web out. A lot of the time if I only get a sticky web out, it's either because of the opponent using taunt twice, or their pokemon is able to 2HKO me. If it's taunt I use knockoff, and if it's the 2HKO, I usually switch so that I can possibly get the Stealth Rock in later. I tried using Infestation, but I feel like knockoff is way more useful. Sometimes I get to knockoff assualt vests from pokemon like conkeldurr and excadrill.

Breloom (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Technician
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spore
- Bullet Seed
- Mach Punch
- Swords Dance

Breloom works really well as an early game sweeper. The combination of Sticky Web, Spore, and Focus Sash make it really easy for me to get a Swords Dance in, and the drop in speed that Sticky Web creates makes me able to use Bullet Seed more than I could before. Actually, I always had problems trying to run Breloom before Sticky Web came out.

Excadrill (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 120 HP / 136 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide

Excadrill is here because Stealth Rock is the bane of my Charizard's existence. Also, sometimes my opponent's lead also sets up while I'm setting up with Shuckle. Pretty much every time that happens I can get an encore out on a move that Excadrill resists and then just switch in and rapid spin. They either stay in and I can hit whatever it was, or they switch and I can just switch to Rotom-W. I think these two pokemon work well together defensively.

Rotom-Wash @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Rest
I'm not sure if I'm supposed to, but usually I just switch Rotom in against things that would kill Excadrill and vice versa. I use rest over pain split because sometimes I misjudge things and Rotom gets statused, and also because I suck at using pain split. I'm considering using something a little more tank like, but I always end up not changing because I like the synergy rotom w has with excadrill.

Charizard (M) @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Solar Beam
- Focus Blast
- Dragon Pulse

I use Charizard as a mid or late game sweeper. I'm surprised how hard he hits. He can usually take on most things by that point. My only problems with him are when I send him out too early, and pokemon like latios, or basically things that levitate who are faster than him and can 2hko him. That, and I have a 0% hit rate with focus blast against all Heatran because Showdown hates me.

Garchomp (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Fang

I use Garchomp also has a mid or late game sweeper, usually late game when something gets passed Charizard AND whatever other pokemon I have that are still alive. Now that I think about it though, I feel like it would be safe to bring him in earlier if I reliably got the stealth rock and sticky web out. Scarfed Latios seems to be a problem.

So far when battling, I think Venusaur gives me a hard time if I can't get some damage in first and then get Charizard out and fire blast. I also have the same problem with conkeldurr. Bulk Up Talonflame with substitute also gives me trouble, especially if Rotom is gone already. Oh, and trick room. I'm sure there are other problems, but I'm pretty sure I'm too inexperienced to know what those are. I guess that's why I posted a RMT! Please help :)

Before someone locks the thread you should change the descriptions to min of 3 snetences.
Suggestions:
i think sand veil garchomp is better since he is not physically defensive to have rough skin and also to use an enemy ttar's sands stream.
change shuckle's mental herb to leftovers for recovery

I disagree. Shuckle needs his Mental Herb to resist taunt, and his job is simply to set up entry hazards and maybe encore something. Rough Skin is excellent on all Garchomp sets because the chip damage can be really valuable, especially against pokes with focus sash.

I wouldn't recommend using Shuckle because Defog is such a common move, used on almost every team. Many times, Shuckle will set up and then die to a strong attacker, only to have a flier or levitator come in and Defog away the web.
I think you should replace it with a different rocks user, preferably a defensive mon.

If you still want to use Shuckle, you should build your team around it to take full advantage of web while it is up. I would recommend other slow attackers to add to Breloom. You will also needed a Defiant abuser to dissuade the opponent from using Defog. Bisharp is awesome because he is extremely threatening at +2 and since he is slow, he loves the web. Thundurus-I, physical or mixed, is another good option.

I would replace Dragon Pulse on ZardY with Roost for better longevity, especially if you can't get that spin off.

Garchomp is cool but what your team really needs is another special attacker who can take advantage of the holes that ZardY blows in teams. Keldeo is awesome and she can also defeat Chansey with Secret Sword.
